This is a great community service you've done here. So many people are struggling with high grocery prices and you've kept the portions generous but not wasteful.
In place of anything where you're using just plain water, you could always use a veggie broth, chicken broth, or beef broth. It may add some depth to the flavor
Hello Rachel - here you go again blowing my mind with your one serving meals. You truly have a gift and thank for sharing. Also I didn't know you could add bowls to the crockpots while cooking. Brilliant tip!!!! Have a blessed and beautiful day 🥰
You're welcome, Emily! I was feeling in a fall mood making all these crockpot meals. 😉 Glad to pass along the knowledge and recipes! Thanks for the encouragement- I hope you're having a fantastic weekend! 🥰
Thank you for sharing. To clean stove parts, put them in a plastic bag (trash bag), spray with oven cleaner, close bag and let sit. After it sits for a bit, pull out the parts and use a scrubber to clean. I’ve had some parts just wipe clean….and some I had to use an SOS pad on, but I found trash bag method the most effective. This works on oven racks as well!
The space has everything one would need. I even have a small wood stove for the winter time. Only have one issue. No room for my train collection. So it was "donated" to my son in-law. Only other issue is meeting someone who has a huge shoe collection. I'm like, how can someone have like 80 pairs of shoes????@@rachelresets
New subscriber….love your Chanel! I’m a single who has just retired and can now start thinking about spending time cooking meals from scratch. Can you do meals for one with beef or hamburger or pork chops? Where I live chicken is crazy expensive, seems crazy but I’ve also realized that buying a precooked chicken is actually cheaper than buying parts! How ridiculous is that?
Thanks for doing this video. I am on disability and this video helps me a lot. I don't have to try and cut down measurements. Hope you will do more of these. Maybe something with beef or pork. Again Thank You.
Another way I like to save money and time is shopping at ethnic stores and batch cooking rice so I have it ready. I am plant based but love the idea of using my small slow cooker to make meals. I love buying spices at the ethnic stores because I get a massive amount for pennies per ounce.
My favorite thing to get out of a video is new information. Learning how to use the big crock for one servings is important info. Yeah. Our evenings are getting pretty. It's beautiful to see the beginning of the leaves changing. Always happy to see your vids pop up.
I am so glad that tip was helpful - I love learning new things as well, or by experimenting and trying ideas as they pop into my head. Adding a little bowl to steam the brocolli was an idea I decided to try this time around and was happy when it worked 😅
Thank you so much for these recipes. I live alone, and don’t want to cook big meals, because I don’t want to eat a meal over and over again. I only have a regular sized fridge, and the freezer isn’t that big. So cooking this way will be great. Thank you 😊 If you can think of any other meals with different ingredients, I will definitely be wat hing out for them.
Cool, who knew about putting small containers into the crock pot!?! The drained spinach liquid works well as the liquid in egg crepes. No flour. Just stirred up eggs and half as much spinach liquid as the eggs.
I absolutely need to start simple crock potting. Moving soon. No time for fussing with food. Never thought about making my own ground chicken from chicken legs before. Thanks. Looks good. I never did the broccoli seperate on top, either. This is all great!
Thank you so much for doing what you do! I'm a new viewer, (blessedly) late to the squeeze of this economy. Your videos truly help, especially as a single person who doesn't need to (or want to) feed a crowd. I am so appreciative!!
Aw, you're so sweet, and so very welcome! 🥰 I'm glad to help - I need all the help I can get as well right now, so I understand the budget squeeze 😉 Thanks for watching!
I watch Julia Pacheco sometimes too. I also watch Mandy in the Making, Mr. Make it Happen, and Smokin and Grilling with AB...oh and I like Low Carb Love too❤
One year later and this pops up on my UA-cam home page. Can’t wait to try these ideas. I’m recently retired and find the cost of food here in Canada simply insane so I’m looking for easy affordable recipes. These look yummy!
I love using the toaster oven for baking! I learned how to bake in a toaster oven in my teens. My mom preferred me to use the toaster oven over the big oven because I grew up in the Philippines so with how hot it was already, having an oven going would make it even hotter. It helped me learn a lot of tricks as I would bake in several batches and tweak the recipe while I waited for one small pan to bake at a time. 🥰
I don't cook for one but I know a few who do and i will look for small slow cookers to gift with notes from this video. I'm new to your channel & subscribed just bc of this. Many Blessings from Deborah in West Virginia!
Yay! It's a great time to own a crockpot as "crock-tober" is just around the corner 😉 Hope you enjoy the recipes and breaking in your new crockpot! 🥰 Thanks for watching!
Your first meal looks totally delicious! I actually got this smaller crock pot for cooking in a hotel room. It kept my food budget lower than going out to eat a lot.
I'm so thrilled to see this video; I've had a mini slow cooker for years but have never used it because the included cookbook was missing from the box when I bought it.
This was so helpful for those of us that live alone and are tired of eating the same food everyday because the average recipe makes 4 to 6 servings. Even if you freeze some you still are eating more of the same food later.
Ì have two slow cookers one is 1.5 quart size and the other is much larger. I enjoy using them for soups but plan on doing more with them this winter. I cook just for myself so I like watching your videos for meal ideas.
I have like 10 slow cookers of all different sizes, some of these recipes I feel like I should have thought of them myself bahahaha... But yes, more single slow cooker meal ideas.. I have a bunch of fix-it-and-forget-it books which are fabulous and a pretty decent cook if I say so myself. I try and scale back on how much I cook unless it's something we absolutely love because we struggle eating leftovers. Even the ideas are great :) I pressure can our meat etc for the most part so a lot of stuff we have on hand and precooked
Once again, so wowed by your creativity here! And I love anything "mini" so the mini crockpot and using the glass ramekin down in it to steam the broccoli, I was hooked 😊 Would love to see a dessert for one ❤
I was literally just pondering doing something like that today while at Dollar Tree and seeing all of their cookie mixes 😋 I love mini things and have since I was little. I still remember receiving a little diary that was only about 2 inches big and it quickly became one of my favorite things as a preteen. Thanks for sharing and for the encouragement to start on the dessert for 1 idea! 😉
These all look tremendous! I hate that I just recently found out I’m diabetic and have to really avoid starches as much as possible! Could you do a low carb/ low fat budget video?
I will add that to the list of videos to make. I've done 1 that was low carb but I need to make another one soon. Here's the one I've done already: ua-cam.com/video/5mGDKX1kYmo/v-deo.htmlsi=7wCHyiWQxkv1VBmJ Thanks for the great suggestion! 🥰
omg what a perfect video! I am living alone right now while in school and have been eating so much unhealthy takeout because I am used to cooking for more people.
Yay! Thank you! 😁 I'm so glad you enjoyed it! I hope to have more slow cooker recipes out later this fall as I really enjoyed the mostly hands off meals myself 😉
from mrs: love this video! I love your recipes!! My spouse often wants something different and I like to be able to make him a smaller portion/or make his salt free.
Hi Rachael, Where are the written recipes? Since being recently single, your recipes look fantastic, but impossible for me to keep looking back and forth for instructions. I would love to make these.
Unfortunately I've only verbally said the recipes in this video. I used to type out all the recipes and put them in the description box, but UA-cam limits how many words you can put in the description box so I was spending a lot of time trying to shorten words just to make the recipes fit, and in videos with more than 3 meals presented it became impossible to put them there. I do plan on creating a website and will put the recipes there, but haven't been able to make enough time to do so yet. Sorry I don't have printable versions yet, but thank you for your patience as I work at finding a good place and way to post the recipes!
Many u-tubers have many recipes written out in the description box, some just list quantities of ingrefients, and others have links. It’s ok if you can’t do it.
@dianenugent3666 I do aspire to have them all written out on a website one day, but at the moment reading the transcripts for the recipes will be more feasible. I do include some recipes on my videos in the description box, just not all of them because of space and time constraints. I appreciate the understanding 🥰
Thank you! I'm glad to hear you enjoyed it! Sometimes using everything up is a challenge, but I know it helps us to not have a small bit of something that we have no plans on how to use leftover. I love when everything all comes together and not having any that might go to waste really helps our budget out. Thanks for the kind comment! 😊 I hope you have a wonderful weekend! 💛
I am such a slow cooker fan when the weather starts to turn. I will definitely be incorporating some of your ideas. I just noticed you're over 4k subs now! Woo hoo! So happy for you! 🎉
Thank you! I love using our slow cooker as well - it makes me feel like dinner is making itself 😅 Thank you for all the encouragement you've shared along the way as the channel grew! 🥰
This video is how I found you a while back....brilliant tips herein and mind was blown to find meals for one on a budget, in a crock pot. Yes I call them all crock pot too, that is how I was raised. My mom was a single mom and used it alot. Ive been going back and watching all your other vids. You are def creative and so helpful in your tips.....Hey you mention how you look in your cupboards and make a meal plan...I am so trying to learn this habit. But what a great idea that would make for a series of videos...."How to use it up'' like canned spinach, dry beans, onions & other produce before it goes bad, canned chicken, mixes like Red Lobster cheddar bay biscuit mix...i have that and was thinking wondering if i could make something besides the biscuits...I realize you have touched on canned chicken, but there is always more. But this is where I am challenged. I like keeping canned spinach it is so much easier to use for me than frozen or fresh, but i challenge myself like that what all can i do with that can of spinach if I open it. Ive come up with some tasty meals. Used it in ways I would not have thought of before. Much like what you do here, but less organized...so I seek to learn from you.
Shoot forgot to tell you because i grew up with crock pots i have several and cookbooks and even an insert for one in which you can back a cake...yes you can do way more than people think. You can bake bread, you can roast, you can make baked potatoes, you can make spaghetti, you can cook without the lid etc. I have looked on pinterest yrs ago and mind was blown you can find any recipe for the ''slow cooker'' on there. God bless
This was great. Adapting to my needs and pantry, I'm going to make beef meatballs for 2 meals to go into the freezer today. I'll be using about 4 oz extra arrachera (Milenesa in some cultures, thinly sliced steak in others) and salad croutons I have leftover. So much nicer than fussy meatballs.
Just found your channel and so glad that I did! I love the recipes, and I can’t wait to give them a try. Gotta binge and make a list! Thank you for posting these ❤
Since I don’t always eat the way that my children eat, this is amazing! I did not know that you can put a food safe dish inside of a crockpot to cook for one! Didn’t question do you know if the 2 quart crockpot will actually cook food in the same way that a larger one does? I’ve seen the 2 quart crockpots, but it’s just a plug-in and forget there’s actually no Time that you can select and there’s no keep warm. It’s just literally plug-in and let go.
Welcome! Glad the videos and meal plans are being helpful - they have definitely been helping my husband and I try to stay on track with our Grocery budget. Thanks for watching! 🥰
This is absolutely fascinating! I just started the mini slow cooker meals. It seems like something every college student or young person living in an apartment should have. For example, to heat a soup, you just pour the soup can’s contents inside the mini slow cooker. To microwave soup, you need a separate bowl, a cover, and a microwave. I don’t know why Walmart and Target are not selling these all over the USA. 🇺🇸 Maybe I’m missing something here?
I have a tiny slow cooker, but rarely use it, as I really didn't know what I could do with it! These recipes are awesome for someone living alone. Have you, or anyone tried making these as freezer meals, for say, a week or so of easy reheat meals? Thanks!
hmm I only watch this video to make fun of it but when I saw the Spring blossom corelle I decided to watch through. These are very interesting and this chick has a new subscriber and a definite 👍
Do you happen to have printed recipes for all these kinds of meals? Even if it was in this it could be copy and paste into a document to be printed out
Unfortunately I've only verbally said the recipes in this video. I used to type out all the recipes and put them in the description box, but UA-cam limits how many words you can put in the description box so I was spending a lot of time trying to shorten words just to make the recipes fit, and in videos with more than 3 meals presented it became impossible to put them there. Since the tomato paste is so stick for that last recipe, an adjustment my fee to use slightly less tomato paste and substitute with tomato sauce or tomato soup since the ingredients are can anyway
These all look terrific! I have a couple of questions. How much water did you use in the recipe for the cheesy meatballs with sweet potato? Also, can a 2 quart slow cooker be used for these recipes, or is it too large? Thank you!
No problem! 😉 I'm thinking a 2 quart should be fine as all of the meals filled the slow cooker enough that the base of a 2 quart should also be fully covered with food and won't run the risk of burning. If you try these, let me know how it goes in the 2 quart as that might be helpful for others that may also have a 2 quart slow cooker. Thanks for watching! 🥰
I think if you had put most of your chicken in the slow cooker it would have been easier to take the meat off the bone and you are definitely sure the chicken is cooked. Plus, if you had baked the chicken first then place in slow cooker would give you a much deeper and richer broth. If you want to make everything in slow cooker, you could use a can( for small slow cooker use about 1/4-1/2), of biscuits cut into quarters with your seasoned broth along with a small portion of the cooked chicken, some finely diced onion, about 1/2 can of cream of chicken soup. I praise you for the chicken meatballs, but would have been better if you had cooked them all at once in oven, then use in slow cooker. Again gives better texture and taste. Also, a can of tomato soup can sometimes give you the same results in place of some tomato products. I used a can of tomato soup for lunch( 1- cup, after thinning with water), added dried basil, oregano, garlic salt, black pepper, onion powder…then added in some rice along with enough water to cook two cups of rice. I did mine on the stove top, but I think it would come out better in the oven. I added some green peas and corn, along with some chopped green onions. I will serve this with bean burritos and a guacamole salad. Then will take what is leftover of the rice and add in about 1/4 lb of cooked ground breakfast sausage to stuff some green bell peppers ( they are the cheapest), top each stuffed pepper with a piece of bacon to cover the rice. Bake in oven…I have heard of cooking them in a slow cooker too. If you cut the peppers from top to bottom will yield you two halves and more servings( these can be frozen, before or after cooking for another meal later on). So, look at what we just did…took a can of soup to make three meals, rice which is cheap, 1/4 of ground sausage and a slice of bacon( which, I cut small ends off of it while raw for seasoning or things like this in freezer). I love using the slow cooker, but I feel like I am eating boiled meat if it has not been seared off first. That is just me…I am all about texture. I have tried these box stuffing mixes and they do not have the same wonderful taste as homemade. Though if you had made a brown gravy from the essence and partials from meatballs in cooking process and poured over some of them and served with stuffing would have given you a hint of Thanksgiving. Try making a homemade Parmesan & roasted garlic sauce or maple sauce to pour over the chicken meatballs…There was just too much tomato products in the meals, where everything would taste alike to me. I know it was to save money, but that is where cooking a lot of things from scratch gives more variety and flavor.
That is a wize tip, Nancy. I will work on searing my meats next crock pot video - you are right, that would add a nice texture and lock in the flavor. Thanks for sharing the tip! 🥰
Nice ideas but I don't want the extra dishes from the oven for something going in the crockpot anyway. If I want to use something browned as an ingredient, I use the little 2 qt insta pot wannabe 1st on brown/sear, then on slow cooker setting. Because of the versatility, I've thought about donating my little crockpots but nope - mine!! LOL
So nice to see meals for singles! Most recipes are formulated for families - way too much food for one person! Thank you for sharing!
This was great! Not many people seem to cook small portion meals which is exactly what I need, so thank you!
Thank you! I plan on continuing to make more videos like this. 🥰 I'm so glad you're enjoying the one person meals!
Great idea to use the dish as a double boiler “ish”. I had never thought to stack in my slow cooker. I love the single meal ideas. Thank you!
Thank you! I plan on continuing to make more 1 person meal plans 🥰 I'm so glad you're enjoying them!
Great ideas for those of us that live alone. TY

Bone broth, 2-2.5 hours in instant pot, strain water over bowl. We've all done it into the sink. Don't go near the sink 😊

Sorry I don't have printable versions yet, but thank you for your patience as I work at finding a good place and way to post the recipes!
Read the transcript for the recipe
@joannahastings4243 That's a great idea - thanks for sharing! 🥰
I loved this video! There is enough variety between the recipes that I can easily create new recipes for my small "crockpot." Thanks.
You are so welcome! I'm so glad to hear that! Hope you have fun getting creative with your crock pot! 🥰
Please do more these videos for cooking for one in the Crock pot.
New to your channel. Thank you so much for sharing a wonderful video.
Welcome! So glad you're here and glad you enjoyed the video! 🥰
Please keep making more of these videos for meals for 1 or 2 in small crockpot. So tired of large meals in big crockpot
Definitely planning on making more of these types of videos using the mini crockpot. Thanks for watching! 🥰
Very nice and using all of these ingredients up! Love it!
Will you please give us Small Crockpot recipes using ground beef? I love the chicken ones! Thank you very much! 😊
A new viso is dropping now using ground turkey (ground Beef can be swapped instead). I hope you enjoy! 🥰
I am such a slow cooker fan when the weather starts to turn. I will definitely be incorporating some of your ideas. I just noticed you're over 4k subs now! Woo hoo! So happy for you! 🎉

Thank you! 🥰 I'm so glad you enjoyed these slow cooker meals! I hope you have a wonderful weekend! 💛
Another amazing video! Rachel you're so talented!
Thank you so much, Robin! I always love hearing from you, and I appreciate the encouragement. Glad you enjoyed this one! 🥰
Wow คุณทำอาหารเก่งมาก Follow the next episode 💯

I like my pasta with sugar, too. Nice idea about steamer dish.

They look so good, thanks for sharing these! ❤
Thank you! 🥰 I'm so glad you enjoyed these slow cooker meals! I hope you have a wonderful weekend! 💛
Thank you so much for the meals i sure will use them.
You are so welcome! 🥰 Thank you for watching!
Thank you...Like many people, I am struggling financially, so this was perfect timing for me.
New subscriber...
Welcome! Glad the videos and meal plans are being helpful - they have definitely been helping my husband and I try to stay on track with our Grocery budget. Thanks for watching! 🥰
Loved your meal ideas!
Yay! Thank you! I'm so glad to hear it! ☺️
I love this entire video Tysm🫶🏻
I have a tiny slow cooker, but rarely use it, as I really didn't know what I could do with it! These recipes are awesome for someone living alone. Have you, or anyone tried making these as freezer meals, for say, a week or so of easy reheat meals? Thanks!
I just ordered the same little crock pot. Cant wait to get crocking!!
I love stuffing
Yes, it's SO GOOD! 😋 Glad we have similar taste buds! 😉
EverythIng about this is brilliant. Thank-you.
Thank you so much! I'm so glad to hear that! ☺️
I just got this slow cooker for my apartment dorm (it’s like a two room dorm)
That's awesome! 🥰 I hope you get to enjoy making lots of good food in it!
Really tasty spicy and delicious and best for health care recipe.
Thank you so much! I'm glad to hear you liked the recipes and thank you for the kind comment! 😊
hmm I only watch this video to make fun of it but when I saw the Spring blossom corelle I decided to watch through. These are very interesting and this chick has a new subscriber and a definite 👍
It would be great if this were bookmarked
Would you mind putting the complete recipes in the description box with measurements please.
Enjoyed the video…..maybe you could do another video with different meats ….ex pork , beef
I will add this to my videos to do list 😉 Thanks for the suggestion!
Yummy and smart. Thank you
Thank you so much! I'm so glad you enjoyed the video! 🥰
@@rachelresets ok thank you
Loved this video! Great ideas! New subscriber now too btw!
Yay! Thank you!
Since the tomato paste is so stick for that last recipe, an adjustment my fee to use slightly less tomato paste and substitute with tomato sauce or tomato soup since the ingredients are can anyway
You are a genius.
These all look terrific! I have a couple of questions. How much water did you use in the recipe for the cheesy meatballs with sweet potato? Also, can a 2 quart slow cooker be used for these recipes, or is it too large? Thank you!
Oops! You did say half a cup of chicken broth. I'm sorry that I missed that!
Great ideas thanks for sharing
Glad you like them! Thanks so much for watching! 🥰
Thabks for the video. Does this have a auto timer to shut off. Im new to slow cookers.
This one does not, but I know there are some that do. This one has low, high, and warm settings.
Mantap nh kk masaknya❤❤❤
Thank you
I am impressed......
Thank you! I'm glad you enjoyed it and hope you get to try some of these slow cooker meals 🥰 Hope you're having a great weekend!
LOL
Great tips😊
Glad you like them! 🥰
1st time viewer. Where can I find the recipes to print them out?
