My Roborock was one of the best purchases I’ve made for my condo. It takes care of vacuuming and mopping even in tight places. Im not going back to a regular broom or vacuum ever again.
Yes yes yes to all these. I do all of this and it absolutely makes life easier and better. One thing I would add is cable clips for charging cables. I use clear cable clips by 3m and put them on night stands and desks to hold usb cables and charging cables in reach. The clear ones match any color of furniture.
I love love the knife, i bought once recently when traveled to Japan and its a game changer in the kitchen. if you cook a lot, please try it you will not regret it thank you for an amazing collection
Finally! Someone who agrees that less thread count with quality cotton is better for sheets. For anyone with pets, you need to have robotic vacuums timed for when you’re home. If there’s a mess in the floor, robotic vacuums make it worse 🫤
@flufwix for the summer time here in Australia, i was recently converted to 100% bamboo sheets. They remain soft, feather light and are a blessing if you dont have air-conditioning or issues with body temperature. I always swore by Sheridan brand Cotton sateen bed linen. They stay perfect, for decades. Sold here in Australia. But in the heat the thickness is too much. Inexpensive 100% bamboo sheets are amazing in humid environments
For me 1. Showerheads. So many places ive lived had terrible cheap showerheads and upgrading to a nice 9ne isnt that much. You can get pretty nice more functional ahowerhead and wand combos from 30 to 60. 2. Bidet toilet seat, this really is a life changer and again you can get one from 30 to 60 unless you want a powered one. 3. Ceiling fans and light fixtures, easy to replace and not very expensive.
Your topics are always ON POINT! From where I live, we don’t have Black Friday sales, but still, I want all of your suggestions. Thank you for another great video! 😊
Knife guy here, wouldn't say that 2000 grit is versatile. Anything finer than 1000 grit means it takes a lot of time to remove material, so if your knives are actually dull a 2000 wont really do much. Its really only good for frequent touch ups to maintain the initial sharpness of your knife unless you want to spend hours on it.
About robovacs, at least mine: it is a toddler. It obsesses over some places and ignores others; you have to prep the room (pick up obstacles that it will push around or get hung up on) and definitely put magnetic strips to keep it out of areas (for example a rug with tassles or a bunch of electrical cords or just under the couch because it always gets confused and stuck there). Don't run it when you aren't there to chaperone.
Some excellent products Reynard. I particularly love the robot vacuum cleaner. Love the idea of it silently cleaning the room whilst you're at work. The stackable mugs are really cool and such a space saver. Thank you.
I thoroughly enjoy listening to your videos. But I have always hoped you would take a bit about design for those who wish to "age at home." There are so many things to consider, it can be a bit overwhelming. Maybe, you'll do a video about design and aging at home. Thanks
4:00 Love those tips (ty!) but have to disagree on the knives : seeing a line of sharp pointy blades from pretty much everywhere when you have an open kitchen is super creepy to me ^^. unless they're somehow out of the view
I love the my robot vacuum, I also have a roborock, an S5 Max. sometimes it is a bit stupid but if I just would not look at it doing its job, it wouldnt matter as it just spends more time sometimes being stupid. Also taking a few minutes to clear the floor from socks and other things before it vacuums helps keeping my house tidy and reminds me to not keep too much stuff on the floor. Just need to be careful with cables, also make sure your carpets are compatible, if not, you can of course clean them manually and have the robot clean everything else.
I've always avoided automated lights because if one went off by mistake I'd be immediately convinced it was unequivocally a ghost and have to sell my house the next day
6:48 bro probably makes more in a year than I do in a decade and he still has an Ikea lamp. If that's not the best advertisement for Ikea I've ever seen I don't know what it is
I, personally, would never tie my lights to the phone... especially on a schedule - it weirds me out on so many levels, especially the schedule part, tbh. I'm thankfully not handicapped to not be able to turn on/off the switch when I need it - it's not difficult, and it doesn't take time. I have mirrored switches in the bedroom - one at the door, one next to the bed - no need to get up for lights. Simple motion detection (without wifi) lights are great for cupboards, storage rooms, maybe bathrooms/wc and stairs. I also once had a clap detector to turn on/off ALL the lights in a room simultaneously - it was fun, but you do feel looney doing loud clapping by yourself, so I stopped and used the remote control, which was not really convenient either, so I ended up pressing buttons on the wall like regular switch without the remote.
Excuse me for this comment which is non related to this particular video, but have you done a video on tips on managing space, light and furniture on narrow & elongated living rooms / spaces? Most apartments here where I live are elongated spaces, from the entrance to the window, with only one window in the end of the room. If not, have you planned on making a video about this topic? Thanks, and keep your work, I just discovered this channel and it's cool to see your evolution on talking to the camera 2 years from now :)
I use linen sheets with frequency of 5000 with a fuffy synthetic doona. I have organic washed cotton sheets to used with my organic wool doona. Wool also has high frequency but waves are in opposite direction to linen so cancel each other.
Solidteknics produces a knife sharpening set which gives effortless superb Japanese type sharpness. They also have a simple cheaper one for western knives
I would love to hear some suggestions as to how to integrate things like robot vacuum cleaners into decor in an aesthetically pleasing way. A regular vacuum can be put away in a closet, but a robot needs to be left out in order to function. I already have a dehumidifier and air purifier which I need in my apartment, and I feel like I don't have room for more large plastic devices. A video on how to store these would be appreciated.
I once saw a house where the Roomba lived inside a cabinet that allowed the robot to go in and out because it had a door cut a few inches above the floor for clearance.
my robot vacuum forsure, it’s especially useful in my bedroom vacuuming all the dust under my bed, when before i had physical shift furniture around to do that lol 😅
Хороший набор!… робот- пылесос не нужен, много ковров, электрочайник есть, хорошо для заварки разных видов чаев. Smart light ..очень классная вещь, чашка из Японии тоже есть, обожаю… хорошая машина - кофеварка незаменима. Стол с регулированием высоты- супер для работающих дома.
I would be interested on a video more focused on smart home especially, light settings. I have an ikea setup and for example temperature and intensity can be adjusted only when the light is on, which makes the user experience not ideal for automatic scheduling. What is your setup?
I’m looking into setting up smart bulbs in my new apartment, any advice on brands to look at for similar automation like mentioned at 7:01? It’s a daunting market given the volume of products to choose from!
Yep, it's Philips Hue, we have the same system here. It has a lot of options for party light, atmopsheric lighting etc. as well, but is quite costly. Though comparing their lamps with the cheaper one we got... yeah, they definitely function better ha ha
My cheaper robot vacuum brand's app only works with 2.4 GHz wifi, and mine is 5 GHz, so I can't use the app to schedule, but the robot vacuum works fine by itself. It's easy to turn on and it goes back to the charger when it is out of power. Robot vacuums are quite convenient and get 90% of the work done.
There you go mate milligram.com/products/kinto-sepia-mug-340ml I’d wait a week or two for BF. The ceramic Cores one is available through amazon au if you’re prime member they’ll ship direct from amazon japan.
The robot vacuums are insanely expensive for what they are.

I love my robovac Roborock Q7, but I always struggle about which rugs it can deal with - without ruining them over time or constantly flipping the edges and corners. Any advice?
Hey Reynard, I recommend doing a bit more research on bamboo sheets. It's a synthetic fibre dressed up/greenwashed as something organic and all the certifications are bogus. 100% cotton is the way to go (unless you prefer linen), all others are a scam.
I get most of what I need in thrift shops and yard sales. The money that I save by not buying expensive, new, high-tech gizmos goes into the bank...to pay my bills and for any repairs and maintenance I my need for my house.
Hi, shapton is amazing, but they are too high-end. Get a king 3k/6k ceramic whetstone instead. Only get a shapton if you need to invest extra in a sushi knife or something. Otherwise, you're just throwing money away. A nagura stone and flattening stone helps too.
I have a Roomba robovac. Pretty useless if you have any mats or rugs. Also a bitch to clean the hair and other fibers that get tightly tangled around the rotating brushes. My Dyson vacuum has much better suction, never accumulates hair and is quick to empty when full.
The issue with robotic vacuum cleaner is that if someone has a long hair you are screwed up anyway. You need to clean the roll inside the device once or twice a week. Then having dirt container is just a waste of money, because you need to hand clean the device every week anyway.
I have long hair and two cats that shed like crazy. In the past, I used to sweep the floor manually, sometimes twice a day, until I got tired of it. Last year, I decided to buy a robotic vacuum cleaner. Game changer! The floor looks significantly cleaner. I use the vacuum daily, sometimes even twice a day, and I clean it every weekend-but I don’t mind. It’s that or sweeping the floor myself every day, which I got tired of doing. Pick your battles!
I mean, you also have to clean hair out of regular vacuums. It's not a specific issue with robot vacuums. Also I have a very bad back and cannot use a regular vacuum. The robot vacuum has been a life saver. When I need the big vacuum used I have to pay someone to do it or get friends or family to help me.
Check the description, he’s linked everything mentioned on the video. The mug is from Amazon . Would be good to support him by purchasing items using his links
2:35 That's a beautiful view with the Jacaranda tree. You're a lucky man.
My Roborock was one of the best purchases I’ve made for my condo. It takes care of vacuuming and mopping even in tight places. Im not going back to a regular broom or vacuum ever again.
Mugs especially made in Portugal and Japan are pretty plus functional
@ Fable

I have the Roomba that recognizes and avoids pet waste.

I featured bidet in similar video last year - I agree it's life changing.
The length of your nails though😮

I never even thought about the magnetic door stop, that'll come in handy for one of my doors.
I just ordered one
Thanks for introducing me to Kinto, love their vibe on all the tableware.
Love the mugs ! The design look, the colour and practicality
I just invested in quality Japanese knives, and I can't believe how much more enjoyable prep work is.

Great video. Would love to know more about your smart home tech
3D printer is underrated. I have been able to design my own wall accessories like picture frames, lights, and curtain mounts.
Love your videos!!
Mate, will you be doing an Australian Amazon shop also given you are an Aussie creator? Thanks so much. ☮️
I've always avoided automated lights because if one went off by mistake I'd be immediately convinced it was unequivocally a ghost and have to sell my house the next day
😂😂😂 I so get you! I have 2. And I prefer to know when an uninvited flesh and blood person is coming down my hallway.
And if you have animals.... its like a permanent disco. 😂
Jacaranda tree!
My robot vacuum has too much personality….and has decided it doesn’t like the kitchen, shuts itself in the bathroom, and cries for help
I would like watch a video about it 😅
A 3D printer for new dentures would be useful, maybe one for new spectacles as well.
6:48 bro probably makes more in a year than I do in a decade and he still has an Ikea lamp. If that's not the best advertisement for Ikea I've ever seen I don't know what it is
It’s a really good lamp though. 🤷♀️ Good design doesn’t equate to expensive.
Yeah check out his house! Bro is loaded
I’m saving this for when I have the money. Just lost my job unfortunately but these products look amazing, thank you 😅
Hope you find a great new job soon 🙂
I never even thought about the magnetic door stop, that'll come in handy for one of my doors.😇😇😇😇
I got a Euphy robovac during a Prime sale - a friend recommended it and it is awesome! My friend has one that mows the lawn, too.
I really enjoy your explanations and suggestions. Now looking at doorstops 😊...
No, I absolutely do not want or need a 3D printer.
I, personally, would never tie my lights to the phone... especially on a schedule - it weirds me out on so many levels, especially the schedule part, tbh.

Will you have an Amazon store front in Aus since you are based in Sydney? The US store front is not helpful to your fellow Aussies 😅
Solidteknics produces a knife sharpening set which gives effortless superb Japanese type sharpness. They also have a simple cheaper one for western knives
Robo Vacuums with auto clean and drain features will be the next gen thing… also prefer the LiDAR versions

Cool~~~~This is exactly what I want~~~
Those magnetic door stops look fabulous! Could you post a link for them?
Oh wait, can I use those if I have hollow doors?
I’m looking into setting up smart bulbs in my new apartment, any advice on brands to look at for similar automation like mentioned at 7:01?
It’s a daunting market given the volume of products to choose from!
I got mine from ikea, though was advised other places are cheaper?
I absolutely love lifx bulbs. I have mine automated and it's helped my sleep so much because the light schedule sets your circadium rhythm.
I have a few philips hue lights and would love motion sensors. Just a little expensive here, hope there will be sales
Great video. I noticed that you have adjustable hand weights. Do you recommend them? What brand are they and where did you buy them?
What is the brand of the smart home lighting/system that you're using? There are so many options I don't know what to choose.
Yeah same here…could not work it out, guessing Phillips Hue
Yep, it's Philips Hue, we have the same system here. It has a lot of options for party light, atmopsheric lighting etc. as well, but is quite costly. Though comparing their lamps with the cheaper one we got... yeah, they definitely function better ha ha

you can probably set up a 2.4 GHz wifi on your router that runs parallel with your main wifi
The magnetic should be put at the top of the door
so it's out of the way.
I was the most interested in those mugs, but they don't seem easily available in Australia.
There you go mate milligram.com/products/kinto-sepia-mug-340ml
I’d wait a week or two for BF.

I’ve also found bamboo clothing to have a very short life span. I suspect bamboo sheets would not last long if you are a active sleeper.
I get most of what I need in thrift shops and yard sales.
The money that I save by not buying expensive, new, high-tech gizmos goes into the bank...to pay my bills and for any repairs and maintenance I my need for my house.
Cheers 🍻
I want a 3-D printer!!!!!
That view though.
Can you tell which app you use for your smart home tech part?
It’s in his shop yet it’s the Philips range. 👍
Thank you! I looked at the description box but didn't see anything.
Philips Hue
Hi, shapton is amazing, but they are too high-end. Get a king 3k/6k ceramic whetstone instead. Only get a shapton if you need to invest extra in a sushi knife or something. Otherwise, you're just throwing money away.
A nagura stone and flattening stone helps too.
Where is the list?
I'm not seeing the link for the porcelain coffee mugs
0:01 Does anyone know that mountain artwork link on the back table?
you forgot the smart phone jail 😅
I have a Roomba robovac. Pretty useless if you have any mats or rugs. Also a bitch to clean the hair and other fibers that get tightly tangled around the rotating brushes.
My Dyson vacuum has much better suction, never accumulates hair and is quick to empty when full.
I found our narwal trapped in my phone charger plus my long hair 😂 she would just scream help it’s annoying lol.
Fun fact: linen was the cloth worn by poor people once upon a time. History.
🎉🎉🎉
The 3-D printer has way too many cables/cords for me. Also, it is huge and takes up a lot of space.
The issue with robotic vacuum cleaner is that if someone has a long hair you are screwed up anyway. You need to clean the roll inside the device once or twice a week. Then having dirt container is just a waste of money, because you need to hand clean the device every week anyway.

There are versions that can handle long hair nowadays.
I've not had that problem. Perhaps it depends on the model.
@ possible. Xiaomi Vacuum Mop gets clogged pretty fast, it has already two years so maybe most recent designs are way better handling hairs

@6:58 I lovin your manicure 💅
What's the brand of your Japanese porcelain mug? Thanks.
C811GR Kiki Mug, Made in Japan, Microwave and Dishwasher Safe, Delicate Construction
Check the description, he’s linked everything mentioned on the video. The mug is from Amazon . Would be good to support him by purchasing items using his links
1:24 I'm not sure if you've noticed already, but there appears to be a sticker there that you should remove? Anyway, thanks for the informative video.
Nah man… thank you, don’t need any! …and please cut your nails! 😅
lots of electronic devices for someone that hates cables. also time to cut nails :)
his nails are beautiful wdym mate
Any reason you didn't take off the film on the robo-vacuum at 1:24?
This man does not know anything about knives or knife sharpening. xD
