Personally I still didn't make a single conlang but if I did I'd build a whole imaginary tribe and build a culture and then model the language off of it and the place they'd live and there culture and there way of living
_conlang_ is literally “constructed language” and in this context _constructed_ is implicit, so it’s okay to just call it _my language._ Like, you haven’t always got to say _my glass of limonade_ as _my drink_ is enough.
I still when I used make only scripts for a conlang but one I thought to make a conlang itself. So it took me 5 days for grammar and 10 for words. I created 1000 words. I will say "How are you " in my conlang ,"khashhiankdu matsi." Edit: I forgot to say that my conlang has tones . So khashhiankdu mãsi will be I am good. Khashhiankdu means good and Masi means you so literally good you? And mãsi means me or I. So khashhiankdu mãsi literally means good me.
For your first conlang, I'd recommend using the grammar of a language you know, especially your native language, this will help you understand it without having to have to learn your own conlang (in the same way as if you changed the grammar completely from a language you know).

I love conlang stuff!! I created an alien language called Kru’vev and it has some pretty weird rules compared to earth stuff but it’s not unnecessarily difficult. “Kafm’ovia’ Joe Zhet’hunululaa” means “every day, Joe is not very difficult”. Stuff is different depending on specific prefixes and suffixes but not like in English
I love conlangs! I have lots of trouble learning them though, because of all these words.. I don't know what Lexicon means aha, but that's not the only word. I've tried to create my own conlang several times, but I just can't, and I don't think I can do it properly. That's why I make "secret languages", or I think.. pseudo language? I've ran out of ideas though. The language I am most proud of making is Tukkolai or (Tukolā) but it's a boring pseudo language and I don't feel like it's right, because there's technically English in there and it's not its own thing. You're so lucky you can make a conlang 😵💫. I've always wanted to make a conlang out of letters from the English alphabet, without accented letters, but I don't know if doing without them will work out. It's not like I can do it anyway 🤷♀️

I have Donstani and it uses Cyrillic alphabet. Here’s a small sentence: Ждкко. 3 аээ вннк. Амг чоу? Which translates to: Hello. I am cool. Are you? We use Cyrillic alphabet just with different pronunciations!
@@tribaounidadedonstania It's interesting. Some of your words don't have any vowels. Maybe you pronounce some schwas between your consonants ? And for my language I can do a sentence : "Hapō ! Conlang is the slow process of discovering you’re at the bottom of a mining pit and you’re going to have to claw your way out of it in order to escape the patterns of your native language
My language is called Russyrian, it has ties to Russian, Slovenian, Hebrew, Armenian and Croatian. I’m still trying to make the Grammar and everything else which is a little tough but I have a huge imagination so I pretty much am gonna try my best to finish and confuse my friends with the language I’ll speak
My language is called 'чрілліч' crillic. I decided to use the crillic alphabet because I thought that russian and Ukrainian was too hard for me, so I decided to use the crillic alphabet but easier. If you know English, then you can learn it to, since it has literal English translation, but you must know the чрілліч alphabet first. For example. Hi in English is h and I. So in crillic, its гі. *Г=h* *і=i* hi=гі.

you shouldn't just map every word with its english counterparts. that's not how language works. for example, is there a need for a seperate word for "are"? or you can just use a suffix. maybe completely omitting it?
For me, naming the language is waaaaay down the list. The one I'm currently working on... Here's my process: okay, so these creatures basically have a duck bill/beak so they don't have lips. And they have a sinus crest arrangement like a horn or flute, with 2 holes which can be capped with a flap of skin to make three different tones. The high tone will be for alarm originally, developed into questions, potential falsehoods etc. The lowest tone is a long distance communication now used for proven factual statements only. Nasal sounds will predominate due to the large sinuses. They won't use any unvoiced consonants and fricatives will be least common. Because there are no lips they won't be able to make O or U sounds (experiments with holding lips stiff and making various noises) so yeah, 3 vowels only, aa ehh and ii. All long. Very slow spoken language. Consonants... let's have three points of placing the mouth and tongue. Labiodental, alveolar and velar. 3s seem to be a big deal in this culture, maybe they have a base 3 number system? Anyway we'll go with m, n and ng; voiced stops b, d and g; fricatives V, Z and a kind of rolled G I dunno what to call it; and liquid R, L and J. The written language will be an abjad, written with a calligraphic brush and the angle of the letter will denote the vowel - we'll say a is \, e is | and i is /. Now to fiddle around with letter shapes and generate some root words and grammar...
I’ve created three languages one is called ro One is called shree and the one I’m creating right now is called quentainien all of them are inspired off of different languages. Most of them are ancient numerals, and letters.
I’m making my own language for a fantasy people for tabletop gaming. Complex grammar but simplified text (I used Tifanagh and Cherokee characters) able to be written quickly on stone.
I made a conlang called Skáiléng which was derived from english and Trigedasleng (a conlang made by David J. Peterson). theres a saying in my lang - Po fli or po fél. (fly or fall)
I have made my own language (aka conlang) with its complete grammar. And my first part of it is its grammatical cases (Nominativve, Accusative, Genetive, Dative, Locative, Ablative, Instrumental and Vocative)
Oh I am creating my own Language too! It's called Tamadith, and it's inspired by Hebrew. It's written from right to left, like other Semitic language do,and the characters are blocks like Hebrew and Chinese - my native language. But it isn't exactly pronounced like Semitic languages. The few existing words are borrowed from various languages, and I will use English as the base grammar but might alter the grammar a little bit,to make a little bit difference from English. How do you greet in Tamadith: Mieshdi(mean "Greetings" - my own creation)!Bi(I - from Manchurian) theh (from English "the" ) oros ( name) Alami Ib(e)n Datus. I'm really grateful that the Google algorithm brought to me this video. It surely will help me out in the future (But I need to study more languages first).Thank u!
I don't have a language but it's a writing system and its written up to down and people say it looks like Japanese when in reality it was just made from my old one
i've been studying korean for a year and a half and japanese for 3/4 a year now, and i think i need to spice up since i'm not that good... otherwise i'm native finnish+swedish, fluent in english, able to converse in german + understand spanish kinda nicely :3
For the sounds, I'd recommend going on the IPA Wikipedia, it shows you the symbols and allows you to hear how it sounds. You should also try watching maybe a tutorial or smth to understand more about conlanging, so if you try again, it'll be easier for you
I made like 12 conlangs. But two are successful. My language Lüm and my new language i just made two days ago Egineskuinera which means Do the right. In the basque dialect of spanish
My language is modelled from scrap For Example : Mavre Dregen la Unalven , Budlan Meda Artles Vlad Comero Serevepten Which is a sentence about a man being killed and a battle
XD SAME here. Here's what that sentence looks like in my language: Ein men est en konflictse, det soltrin v minerevfine lasetra men sch'dist no ere. Ere cuetror fuesorio, pre ere troser det men cuer sche.
I made a language called Etopa (Етопа / Етопіска). It uses the Cyrillic script but can also use the Latin script. The words may come from Russian, Ukrainian, Hungarian, Swedish, Norwegian, and Faroese. Its a Slavic-Germanic language. The word order is SVO (Subject Verb Object), which is the same as English and most Slavic languages. Here are some example sentences: Ека̊ дені, дона гілік а корова. (Ekå deni, dona gilik a korova.) One day, there was a cow. Етопа гіл блешкіӈ! (Etopa gil bleškiŋ!) Etopa is good! Фароска гіл чератшон вос до Фаро Окяжеса. (Faroska gil čeratšon vos do Faro Okâžesa.) Faroese is spoken on the Faroe Islands.
A word generator…. 🤦🏿♂️ bruh wtf… I got examples of my language on youtube, i made it word for word, drawing it from another universe, deep extensive word and grammar connections and meanings to my 3 different divination systems with each alphabetical system. over 900 words you can hold a communication between eachother with, much more functional than the divine langusge from the fifth element movie. You just literally need to put in efort.
Most languages have words with many different meanings. I have one where the words “yes” and “no” can be “yes”, “success”, “good”, “no”, “failure” and, “bad” depending on where they are placed in the sentence.
Really nice video, would love to see more of this kind of content in the future, maybe to see you develop a conlang over lots of episodes. Earned a sub

i've tried making my own language before, i think it turned out pretty well, it looks like korean but sounds like japanese (an example of a sentence would be "ke lamashino konsu netoka sayenba" which means "i have to take a break")
I'm currently making a language called kà-nỳl-soā and I'm having trouble with the grammar (scroll for more) So basically if i wanted to translate "I have seen a dog" I would first break it down "I (the language doesn't have 'have') to see dog" And then into the spoken version "chö-(symbol for past tense)-bō-äst-hīʃ" Which is basically three symbols, I basically turned five words into three symbols ps the language is in svo and words like have, done, before are all replaced with the past tense symbol aka : : and present tense is : . Future tense is : and predictive tense is . (Predictive tense is when someone says "I think so and so will happen").

You gained a sub from the roast!! Can’t wait to see your content every week :)
☹️
Love the intro dude!

First!
the language sounds a lit like toki pona,
Conlang is the slow process of discovering you’re at the bottom of a mining pit and you’re going to have to claw your way out of it in order to escape the patterns of your native language
my language is spoke and written and it has 25 characters
"Step one, name your language"
Bro really did the last step first 💀
*Conlang
Constructed Language
My grammar in language is very simple it's merged English Spanish and other languages merged with the accent
Wow, i'm so pleased that as the first exaple of -ian you used my native language
*і=i* hi=гі.
I hope it makes sense
@@Electrostatic_Fusion is it a full conlang or just a cipher
@@aeaeeaoiauea I scraped it lol
“subscriptian” … okay that was clever man ill subscibe . lol
Great video man! Inspirational!
Me: making my language as a kid with no fu*king knowledge of linguistics and thinking my language is the best language there could be
This video: A guy saying not having much experience studying linguistics and doing better than me
That would've crushed me as a kid
i get a wanna learn a language app as soon as i click on the video 💀🙏
me an 11 year old making a language by copying japanese but with extra fancy stuff: this is so easy
Came from the roast, LOVEEEED watching this!! Love your humor man, I can definitely see you going far hehe
I've been making my own language for a while now. It's not easy, but with my friend it's pretty fun!
I also made my own language and its the easiest language in the world if you know English (its backwards English (Mikhalish)
you shouldn't just map every word with its english counterparts. that's not how language works. for example, is there a need for a seperate word for "are"? or you can just use a suffix. maybe completely omitting it?
Exactly! There’s a difference between a conlang and a relex
It's disappointing you only have 68 subs right now. This is really nice content.
I made a conlang called Skáiléng which was derived from english and Trigedasleng (a conlang made by David J. Peterson). theres a saying in my lang - Po fli or po fél. (fly or fall)
I know some Germanic language but my elf is still waiting for her goddamn language to be updated gradually getting more angry
I had no idea you could speak so many languages!
Я штаке моj офн данглескии
I choose the Cyrillic alphabet for mine.
fun fact: the hush language of limberwisk dosent have a single vowel so the language sounds like wispering!
'colang' though? Good video, underrated channel keep up the vids :P
I have made my own language (aka conlang) with its complete grammar. And my first part of it is its grammatical cases (Nominativve, Accusative, Genetive, Dative, Locative, Ablative, Instrumental and Vocative)

Why is this so underrated
bomb video!! your editing and on camera personality will take you far. Came from the roast, keep going! subbed :)
brooo ur so underrated, VERY GOOD VIDEOS AND U ONLY HAVE 500 subs! You deserve more than this
I did actually create my own language once. It was a mix of Czech, Hungarian, Polish, and Lithuanian
Mine is Hungarian too!/Á tambeí madjarrúlok!
Grant I’m sorry bro. I wasn’t subbed. That was a mistake. Great video
How do you greet in Tamadith:
Mieshdi(mean "Greetings" - my own creation)!Bi(I - from Manchurian) theh (from English "the" ) oros ( name) Alami Ib(e)n Datus.
I'm really grateful that the Google algorithm brought to me this video. It surely will help me out in the future (But I need to study more languages first).Thank u!
I don't have a language but it's a writing system and its written up to down and people say it looks like Japanese when in reality it was just made from my old one
Hsilahkim deman egaugnal a edam i
It means "I made a language named Mikhalish"
@@TurboX_148 Xol odim ana’fet shayimir “Tabamik” (my language creation is called tabamik)

I love how your language sounds like my native dialect, especially the “sika” part which means you in my native tongue
Dist video el git tet neit. Ke el anjiede on. (This video was very good. I enjoyed it.)
I'm a conlanger
me too ish
Colanger....
Fr an underrated channel tho.
i've been studying korean for a year and a half and japanese for 3/4 a year now, and i think i need to spice up since i'm not that good... otherwise i'm native finnish+swedish, fluent in english, able to converse in german + understand spanish kinda nicely :3
0:30 what sleeves?
You need more subs. Amazingly underrated! Get him from 171 to 171,000
For the sounds, I'd recommend going on the IPA Wikipedia, it shows you the symbols and allows you to hear how it sounds.
Basque is a completely different language from Spanish, and egin eskuinera means do to the right (it's not the right you think it is 😐😐)
My English, good as ever.
Mi Español, cómo llegar.
Mo Gaeilge, Tá sé ceart go leor.
In hindi pani means water
for a language that looked like it took at most 2 days this sounds really realistic
My language is modelled from scrap
For Example : Mavre Dregen la Unalven , Budlan Meda Artles Vlad Comero Serevepten
Which is a sentence about a man being killed and a battle
XD SAME here. Here's what that sentence looks like in my language: Ein men est en konflictse, det soltrin v minerevfine lasetra men sch'dist no ere. Ere cuetror fuesorio, pre ere troser det men cuer sche.
there’s no way you only have 100 subscribers
SUCH A GOOD VIDEO
Great Stuff, watched it during the roast!
Nice, but with conlanging comes linguistics knowledges, so don't worry about not knowing grammar, just take a ride on wikipedia and start learning
Here are some example sentences:
Ека̊ дені, дона гілік а корова. (Ekå deni, dona gilik a korova.)
One day, there was a cow.
Етопа гіл блешкіӈ! (Etopa gil bleškiŋ!)
Etopa is good!
Фароска гіл чератшон вос до Фаро Окяжеса. (Faroska gil čeratšon vos do Faro Okâžesa.)
Faroese is spoken on the Faroe Islands.
Come from the roast to say, this is a great video keep it up man!
4:44 in indonesian thats mean "*girl name , we are father ? "
*each alphabetical SYMBOL
I'm blessed to be have been born bilingual. It makes your conlang much more unique and interssant
Most languages have words with many different meanings. I have one where the words “yes” and “no” can be “yes”, “success”, “good”, “no”, “failure” and, “bad” depending on where they are placed in the sentence.
Im a kid and i create my own language he name is solainian
I did that at age 7
😮😮😮,and I did that at the age of below 1 year old
Wow you you took 1 minute to generate one and read it.
I think it’s interesting how languages develop. I’ve tried this before.
naming it should never come first
id recommend setting some goals, building a phonology, and going on from there
Im actually also creating my own language only for fun! :D i called it Shokunese language
Really nice video, would love to see more of this kind of content in the future, maybe to see you develop a conlang over lots of episodes. Earned a sub

Ever made a language with rules to make my own words automatically but then when I came across “Netanoyitelpesereveyonoteledapotedteranoyita” as a word, I GAVE UP
For you conlang,I suggest using sentence structure or grammar that are fluent in, more preferably your native tongue. It makes it easier.
In urdu pani is water?
coming from a linguist that has made 3 conlangs, and can speak 4 languages (my English is meh), you did quite good. For a quick language, amazing. On average, it takes 1-7 years to make a language. 👍

bro why is there only 34 comments, im so suprised. this vid is super high quality.
i've tried making my own language before, i think it turned out pretty well, it looks like korean but sounds like japanese (an example of a sentence would be "ke lamashino konsu netoka sayenba" which means "i have to take a break")
I'm just going to make my own alphabets...too hard to create my own words
I'm currently making a language called kà-nỳl-soā and I'm having trouble with the grammar (scroll for more)
So basically if i wanted to translate "I have seen a dog" I would first break it down "I (the language doesn't have 'have') to see dog"
And then into the spoken version "chö-(symbol for past tense)-bō-äst-hīʃ"
Which is basically three symbols, I basically turned five words into three symbols ps the language is in svo and words like have, done, before are all replaced with the past tense symbol aka : : and present tense is : . Future tense is : and predictive tense is . (Predictive tense is when someone says "I think so and so will happen").
I like your english pronunciation bro (or maybe is just your voice), a pretty good one
