Thanks Joe. If I am one of the chosen, why did that stuff try to escape from the original container in which it was entombed? 😎 It was okay, but this small amount will be all I ever need.
Great shave bill the one I was sent to try shaved nice so I just ordered my self a blue Dovo . I liked the size and it felt nice to shave with also nice 👀 Dovo . I will no doubt try the factory edge . Cheers
Great shave Bill, and great to see the progress on the fool's pass and goatie area. But if I may suggest to try and dial back on the pressure. As I find that with the Super Curve edge I think that the shallow angle with the light pressure causes the blade to glide easier. That's with my growth at least and have found since I have taken up this method. Prior to it. I had people at work remarking on how red my complexion was. The razor looks beautiful with those blue scales. Have a great day. Very best regards Gordon 👍
Thank you Gordon. Having never shaved the mustache in my life before and never shaved my chin with anything other than an electric or cartridge, I’m still definitely in a training mode. Much like pushing the steel limits in honing, I’m always looking to balance to the early shave principles I learned, sharp steel, low angle, light touch, skin stretching. I am enjoying a clean shave feel. Have a great week bro.
Cat pee aftershave and urinal block soap? What's not to like!? HRH would kill me in my sleep. Some of those boar brushes are dynamite. i have an Omega 10098 like that and it's a lather hog, but so well broken in that it's one of the best. Ran me $13 about 4 years ago. When they had a sale, i bought 3 Omega 10083's that you see re-badged as Cella or Proraso brushes. Huey, Dewie and Louie. They get more use than any badger or even Semogue brushes. T
Great Shave Bill, no nicks or weepers and looks like that DOVO razor is a winner. Very nice looking razor by the way. I actually like the Arko shave soap..it grows on you after a while and it’s performance I find is good. Finally received my Feather Artist Club razor and now have two shaves with it under my belt..and yes it does give you an idea of what to shoot for, Wow😮the edge is sharp but very ,very smooth. A light touch is all one needs. Don't know if I’ll ever get my razors quite this sharp but at least now I'll know what they would shave like if I did. Cheers from Nova Scotia, Mike.
Thanks Mike. Good luck with the new shave piece. My goal was to get acceptably close to Artist Club blades with. I got close enough for me. I could live with Arko.
Hey. Nice shave. I've got a question that you might help me with. Ive been a classic safety razor user for about ten years. Fancy dipping into the straight razor world. This Dovo straight razor caught my eye but I noticed UA-camrs recommending Beginner straight razors. £100 seems a lot of a razor to use for a short time and I love the look of this razor. Would you recommend it for a beginner?
@@RealSweetTom Hello my friend, thanks for tuning in. It is a great straight razor, I love mine and considered it to have been delivered with one of the better “factory edges”, but would I still recommend a starter to look for a vendor willing to re-hone the factory edge. For a someone without a financial barrier, it is great. Stainless construction, superb grinding and individual numbering present an added long term value. For those with cost limits that may be just “Straight Razor Curious” I like to suggest any of the lower cost Thiers Issard products best, if going new. Reputable sources on previously owned razors can help you through your learning process. Also it is not bad to think about more that one razor to have a balanced benchmark on the hardware you use while developing your skills and preferences. Good Luck.
Not totally clear, did you buy one? If not, I’ll trade ya for ‘The Count’. 🤔 One of the other razors in my stable having the same thinness is a modern Böker.
To me, these are my children. I’m emotionally attached to each. Boker Count Engelbert II is the crown jewel of my collection. Besides, I’m on the verge of striking a deal with the wifey.
@@billm.2677 sorry but I had several tabs open, and bought both this Limited Edition 6/8 Dovo Facherbeit but I also ordered a safety razor and had a question about it!
@@pfv3462 👍I disassembled most removable blade tools to air dry a day or so, stainless or not. Many admit to just putting them away. Personal choice in my mind.
Fascinating video Bill 🙏 , that Dovo Facherbeit blue is a pretty little razor , I generally prefer larger heavy blades , I've a 6/8 Filly13 inox (stainless) with jnat edge and it's very harsh , put me off stainless a bit 😜. Take care !
Thanks Martin, If I could swim good enough I’d put it in my pocket and make the trip to let you give this one a try. Then when I got there we could see how the Stainless holds up
Try to finish on a surgical Arkansas. I use this on my stainless Ralf aust & I get great hair popping edges that give me a good shave. I just use the weight of the blade on water and I was knocked out by the result. The hone is small about 2 x4 . I got this & a translucent Arkansas. Very happy with these.
Thank you sir. I mostly use softer soaps and bowl lather. I must admit a bit more practice in face lathering can help be keep the lather in balance. All in all, it did a completely acceptable job. Can’t wait till I get to the Williams.
My first razor was the most expensive Dovo sell. It was bad and horrible. I am very surprised that you like that stuff .Without discussing the fact that inox steel cuts not well like carbon steel, let me tell you that is not the same a razor dull from manufacturer than one dull by use!. In the secon case I just need to honing start from a medium grit! Also if pre/sharpened bad. If is completely dull I must use a 325 or a 220 grit and its a big issue! Anyway scales were lose and not centered and steel was not worked in the best way very prone to oxidation! ( Probably a bad temperation)Geometry was also not good. Assistance completely absent! Some defects are absurd on a razor that costs more than 300,00€🎉☹️ But if you like it no discussion 🫡
Bill! Great shave with that Dovo. I enjoyed your conversation with us. Always a pleasure watching you wield a cuthroat razor.
Thanks for tuning in.
( ps , I like Arko it's a perfectly pleasant shave soap ,stick or in pot ....psycho rant 😂 ...it was justified and brilliant. )
Excellent shave Bill! Glad you are one of the chosen. Lol! Have a great week!

No you didn’t buy one of those new Dovo razors before me! I’m drooling 🤤. Good for you. Good shave. Jealous indeed.

Do I have to take this safety razor apart after use?
Since you rinse it under running water, the razor blade will not rust under the head?
????…..but thanks for tuning in.
