To me this is half the problem, thinking yank tanks and heavy 200/y62’s are needed to take everything into the bush. Get back to basics, keep it light, keep it real. We just got back from 5 days out bush with no trailers - ended up going 2 days over as a river was up and impassable so had to backtrack. Even 2 days over we had enough water and food to cover both vehicles and occupants. Weight is the enemy of anything offroad. There’s plenty of options like patriot campers that any late turbo diesel will have no problem towing if trailers are your thing. 🤘 where we went trailers aren’t allowed anyway, it’s signposted both ends ‘no trailers beyond this point’

Awesome engineering and well done to the people behind this, fantastic to see and to my untrained eye I'm sure there's so much gone into getting this out there, the team needs to be congratulated. But, I bought a G Wagon Professional for 110K, 3560 GVM, solid axles, coils, auto, V6 diesel engine, diff locks everywhere, and a 3 year warranty. It isn't perfect but offroad it is brilliant. I've driven a Hilux for work they are not a heavy duty 4WD, but saying that I can admire what Superior have done, I can't imagine what went into getting this to market. We should all be happy we have this level of capability in Australia.
Impressive work guys, well done designing, testing and getting this approved. Well beyond a shock and spring upgrade. When you think about the actual work involved, the conversion price is pretty good. This against a 79 with a few basic mods, same $$$ spend I know which I'd prefer to be driving.

Love the engineering side of this conversion, and I love the bodywork except for the resolution of the front quarter panels into the nudge bar and headlight area, you can clearly see a rubber or silicon seal stuffed in between the headlight and bar, and the quarter panel is a mile away from the bar, hopefully this can be improved as more kits are done?
I have a feeling that rubber is there because of the bull bar being attached to the chassis rails which can flex against panels which is also why the quarter panels have a gap all to do with preserving those parts instead of having a tight fit which may look good and make sense to begin with untill u have the rails flexing and the bullbar pressing up against other components.
Thank you for your comment/question Noah. You certainmly can fit a Canopy to the X-Track after it has been registered. Superior Engineering offer a large range of rear coil options designed to support different weights/loads. Keep in mind the canopy will need to be fairly wide to cover the wheel track width increase, or you will need pumped out flares/mudguards for that coverage.
Does superior cover you for the gvm upgrade? Incase something breaks or goes wrong? For things like Chassis, gear box, drive train etc? I doubt Toyota will.
Superior Engineering cover and warrant all Superior aspects & components of the SSM. If a chassis failure were to occur (which is unlikely) and it was proven to be the fault of the X-Track kit, then Superior Engineering will Warrant it. As the vehicle's Gross Combined Mass remains as per the first stage manufacture (i.e Toyota) any Driveline, Diff, Gearbox, Engine Warranty remains the responsibility of Toyota.
It must be done pre rego in QLD but may be available post rego in other states, please give us a call if you are in another state to fide out what can be done where.

Unfortunately, due to the profile of the guard as a result of the overall width increase, and the relationship of that panel relative to the A-Pillar, it would not be possible to re-form the guard in such a way that you could run an Off the Shelf Safari snorkel. The only option for running a snorkel on the X-Track Hilux will be a custom Stainless Steel Snorkel. We have a few companies looking at making custom stainless snorkels to suit this vehicle. This kit utilises a 40mm diff drop kit, along with extended lenght CV's and a lower lift height (ie compariable to a 2.5" lift in a normal Hilux), all of which help prevent against failure of the CV's or CV Boots.

Horses for courses in terms of Hilux vs Landcruiser. Some people prefer the Hilux due to it coming equipped with an Automatic Transmission & being a more refind vehicle. Others prefer a 79 Series Landcruiser as it is more of a work horse with less "frills". Each to their own and for some the price of an SR5 Dual Cab with this kit presents better value than a VDJ79 with a Coil Conversion, and as a company it would be silly to only offer Landcruiser options to customers.
The Ranger Raptor comes with a rear diff lock. And that front fender looks like it has been stuck on over the existing fender. Other than that, this looks awesome!

if you look at any winch bumper or bull bar on the market they leave a gap. its there for a reason

$52,000 is fully fitted and approved, and is pretty reasonable considering it is a entirely new suspension set up front and rear and new guards all round professionally painted and is 100% legal throughout Australia.
and it not a defect that is the big consent with driving and illegal vehicle it is if someone gets hurt of worse killed, your insurance will be voided and you will become liable for all the cost that would be covered by your insurance if you have this kit.
Can get way better long travel kits from usa for 1/10th price 😂
