Superior Engineering hands down friendly team to deal with, very helpful time willing to explain every question i had to throw at them making me feel valued as a customer.
Great video! I recently upgraded my suspension on my Jeep here in the states. I went with something similar in that it’s off-road capable but decent on-road too. I’m doing mine bit by bit but my focus is on overlanding. That’s not to say I won’t be rock crawling or mudding. You have products there that we can’t get here. One of the reasons I went with Jeep was the after market support. They probably have the best after market support here. Toyota after market would be a distant second. I like to see what you guys have because you Aussies invented overlanding. Thanks for the great videos!!!
As long as you got your springs (coils or leafs) right. You can run a cheap shocks. It's not going to create any drama whatsoever in the trails. Just get the length right in accordance with your lift and it gonna ride just fine. Remote res shocks with adjustable knobs are good looking and i believe they're excellent, but a non-res shocks will do the job just fine.
Another suspension question for you, sorry! Is the car legal? I know tons of cars out there have big lifts on them well over 2 inches which most people will tell you is legally the most you can lift a car in Australia. I’m always curious how people get around this having 3 - 4 inches of lift in their cars? Legally I’m not too worried about it, not that big of a deal obviously, but what about insurance? How do you insure a car like that? I’m asking because I’d love to do it to my own vehicle, but I wouldn’t risk it if I wasn’t covered by insurance, as you could imagine if you weren’t covered should something go wrong that could be catastrophic. Genuinely interested, I’d love to be able to do more to my vehicles.
You can get cars engineered with bigger lifts, I know there are a few people that have Patrols with a 3" lift and all the toys from Superior that have had them engineered to be road legal (usually with 35's while they're at it). It's a bit of extra cost and time, but if you're worried about insurance and staying legal, it's worthwhile. Technically anything more than a 50mm lift isn't roadworthy without an engineering certificate, so your insurer could use that as grounds to deny a claim if you're involved in an accident, plus the legal element. Not just defects and the like, but also being legally liable if you're involved in an accident that maims or kills someone while you're driving an un-roadworthy vehicle.
Its true tho, i went from flogged out stock gear (i got the 4wd and didnt care it was stock height as i had the lift going in the next week) i drove it down the road and it was heaps better and still is 5 years later, but if it had good gear and i replaced it with the same stuff later on when it needed replacing (not flogged out) i get your point
Hello Bri How does your truck go with regard to engine cooling? I’ve got mates with supped up Nissans and they all get hot especially long and arduous towing My 80 petrol never rises above normal operating temperatures. Keep up the good work P. S. Be good to see your rig up against the red Gladiator from Patriot Games running 40’sc
best thing u can do for your Patrol is adjustable draglink to get your steering alignment right after any suspension lift , you don't have to spend $9k+ on suspension components.
Ah, so this is where the 4WD Action Superior Engineering advert went😜😂

I beg to differ.
I really liked that review. Long term commitment is a rare thing from a 4wd show and all the better that you could explain why.
Great video!

LOL, I'm always amused by how people can say how brilliant a complete new suspension is by driving 100m down the road..

That’s why they call em a kettle
They should get some engine tuning done with a cooler upgrade.
Is the lift on those shorts legal?
Your patrol changes colours often, just saying.
450km a day is pretty extreme km, what's the story there?

She's a 10, but drives a patrol

A quick trip to the knees and back
@@krump743 I’d probably do the same to get a free setup like that 😆🤣
@@davedave5457 no way. Id never be some sponsor daddys bitch.
They call her mrs turbo I’ve heard
Is it legal in QLD?
Anything can be made legal it just might require some money spent to get an engineer to sign it off
If it’s legal in vic it should be in qld as long as it’s signed off/engineered
@@davidball. it's NSW register dude
Nah, buy from us 😘
Sorry superior payed her more
Go the Patrol! 🛻🤙😎wait so instead of just replacing bushes u changed all the parts to the same new ones ? for the video ! 📹🎬
yep! thought so ! lucky girl ! hope you get some good use out of it all !

you can't get 37" tyres legal on a Patrol. it's only 4" and 35s. or 6" and 33s.
