I did and highly recommend using a serger. I made 4 of them using star wars material and the first one I did with my brother sewing machine and it wasn't as clean cut and nice as the ones made with my singer serger. I also made one with a shorter skirt and longer corset ( instead of distance from waist use distance from hips for band). I highly recommend this diy is so simple and awesome
This is a great tutorial, thank you! I'm just starting to learn to sew (self taught) and have been working on two simple Harvest Moon cosplays. Ive been wanting to try something new and a little more detailed for another cosplay, but had to design it myself because I couldn't really find patterns that came close. This skirt is almost exactly how I want the main part of my skirt to be like so combined with ideas from some of your other videos, it should be a lot easier to get the supplies and start sewing it now! :)
Now I regret taking so many shifts at work but at least Ill be able to get a lot more fabric with what Im gonna be getting on my next paycheck XD Love your videos!!!!

I always go to the thrift store and get patterned sheets or curtains to practice on that way you have lots of fabric in case you mess up and you only spent like $5

I always wonder...when you do this kind of project, you always know how to do it? Or you practice until it work? I ask because you make it look easy when you do it, but I don't have a clue of how to do something until you show how to do it.
