Funny thing is Moira transliterated to greek letters means "Destiny". Now I highly doubt the Marvel writers knew it, but the part between Moira and the character Destiny is funny.
You know, listening back through this I now realize that Moira's mutant power isn't just rebooting reality upon death, her mutant power is also being the main character of the marvel universe.

I love love LOVE how this episode is 2 Hours & 39 Minutes as I imagined that you lovely crew will go over all the fine details. To my surprise, you guys go over every page and every details of the story progression thoroughly (rightfully so). In all the years I've watched this lovely channel and you lovely crew grow and bring us awesome content, this story/video is the first time I have read something preemptive to the back issues video. I really enjoyed this story (binged 12 issues at once a week ago) in a 3-6 hours of reading time at airport layovers and delays. In my mind while reading it, the cherry on top was to hear you guys bring the depth you always do to past story-lines and characters, as well as the humorous settings you diverge into. Thank you for this lovely experience and the awesome work you guys do and if I don't say this enough please do allow me to reiterate it one more time, thank you kindly for re-igniting my love for comics and my passion towards some of these characters that I abandoned and lost a long time ago.

55:56-56:14 Her power reminds me of Yo Junghyuk from Omniscient Reader's Viewpoint. Yo Junghyuk has the power of Regression which allows him to (either by choice during critical injury or death) relive his life starting from when he first got the ability.
Such a shame Hickman never got to end his run like he wanted to, this episode really proves what an intriguing and well formulated premise he had in the first place.
i like how the solution to the fox issue was just placing all the mutants in there own little area and never having them interact with the rest of the marvel universe.

My issue with Hickman isn’t the writing or world building. It’s certainly top notch but the breaking of the premise. The WHOLE point of the XMen was that it was a stand in for the movement of of Martin Luthor King Jr towards PEACEFUL COEXISTENCE between marginalized groups and historically privileged groups. The whole idea of it is believing I’m the better nature of humanity and it gives the protagonists a noble goal to strive for. You take that premise away and basically admit that Magneto is right and that sort of destroys the stakes for the X Mens mission and undermines them as hero’s
I love this book but Two things. First: This doesn’t fix anything it just bringing the X men back to providence. Second: You still have to read the previous stories.
Well, that is your opinion. I feel like this gives a great entry way for folk to come in who may already have a cursory knowledge of the x-men, it let's them explore further if they want. Then again, that is jusy my opinion.

I’ve been racking my head around the Moira thing and this is what I the information or the timeline showed. First off Moira alone Invented the entirety of Krakoa because Xavier and Magneto was dead in that timeline, and she created the x men too so of course Beast and other mutant scientist helped her. So in house of X Xavier sealed the deal with his wealth and dummy corps and added extra stuff to the Nation. Finally The Golden Age timeline Moira did relived it again with timeline 10 since they have to be in the same history since it’s the same house of M event and showed Phoenix Force Five. So Moira and Xavier and Magneto dealt with the crazy history till now. Plus Sal said that Hickman decided to leave things like Wanda and Quicksilver. But yeah...hope it wasn’t underwhelming. I love this book but there are too many misinformation from crazy Nostalgic fans and Newcomers alike.

I've been reading this story alongside this video for the past week or so. They do a good job of smoothing things out. This thing is dense in new lore and it's awesome all around.
I enjoyed this book when I read it and I like the stuff that Hickman set up in it (though I write this around the time Hickman has left for Substack). The only major complaint I had reading this and the stuff in Dawn of X is what Hickman remembers and keeps from just prior to his run and the stuff he conveniently forgets that would come up like both Wolverine and Nightcrawler dying and going to the afterlife, yet still question what comes for them after death. Really weird, but it’s just one of those things you put in the back of your mind and just enjoy the story.
This was amazing. I've watched it 3x during the last 2 days. Served as background noise, a reimagining of the Hox/Pox, and a simple "Let's watch it again for fun !" Thanks

Hey just had to come back to this video and say thank you. I've bought the hardcover of this and everything X-Men since. Was a huge X-fan in the 90s as a teenager and have got back into it a couple of times but it never felt the same. This is exciting and fresh, and gdi it's extreme! My love of comics had never died, but I've gone years with only picking up 80s and 90s x-books to fill my old holes. This is the most I've been into comics in years and I love it. Thank you for keeping me into comics and bringing me back home to my X-Men.

T B I have no idea what’s happening or where it’s going and then to even attempt to understand, I have to buy like 6 comics a month, not to mention the 2 6 issue miniseries. That’s a lot of money for no understanding. I think a lot of the hype for the series is based on everyone’s own opinion on where the story’s going, not the actual story itself.
Just because every comic could be someone's first doesn't mean every comic should be written drawn and edited as someone's first otherwise your stuck with a character that never evolves.
I like that Charles has finally gotten sick of humanity's bs against mutants, but even so he hasnt gone full Magneto. He's just done pandering to humans to get them to give mutants freedom, he is just going to take it.
I watched this one multiple times and I think the best moment is at 1:39:05 when Sal says "And Dr. McGregor's boyfriend or whatever..." and Tiffany interjects : "IT'S HER HUSBAND. It's not a boyfriend it's her husband !". And Sal is thinking "oups, so couch tonight ?"
You know, if I am a super-human or a mutant if I was a character into the main Marvel Universe. I would literally scream in the sky, “Who the hell cares if you are mutant or human? Mutants are just humans with a little something extra.” People are ok with Cap and Spider-Man, mutants are not that much of a stretch.

Like all Hickman books, it contains a staggering amount of creativity, but it’s tethered together by an impenetrable, incomprehensible narrative.
GREAT point Sal makes about them allowing Gorgon to be a part of everything.
I really love how you guys swapped who was explaining what. Not only was it fun but it help keep track of what book we're discussing.

really? I thought HoX/PoX was pretty cool on its own. it's not much harder to understand than something like Inception or Tenet
Just because every comic could be someone's first doesn't mean every comic should be written drawn and edited as someone's first otherwise your stuck with a character that never evolves.

I like that Charles has finally gotten sick of humanity's bs against mutants, but even so he hasnt gone full Magneto. He's just done pandering to humans to get them to give mutants freedom, he is just going to take it.

Ethan's expressions in so much of this was great. Awesome recap of the whole Hox and PoX stuff.
I watched this one multiple times and I think the best moment is at 1:39:05 when Sal says "And Dr. McGregor's boyfriend or whatever..." and Tiffany interjects : "IT'S HER HUSBAND. It's not a boyfriend it's her husband !". And Sal is thinking "oups, so couch tonight ?"

I have to say that this is in my top 3 episodes of Back Issues.
You know, if I am a super-human or a mutant if I was a character into the main Marvel Universe. I would literally scream in the sky, “Who the hell cares if you are mutant or human? Mutants are just humans with a little something extra.”
People are ok with Cap and Spider-Man, mutants are not that much of a stretch.
Jonathan Shaw well we could alway used the Grant Morrison answer on why humanity hate mutants being that we are genetic dispose to hate them because a sentient virus infecting us in our conception
My understanding is that they are one off. While mutants will one day replace everyone. It's that fear of knowing that you will be replaced

The fact that a double standard exists between mutants and other powered folks is ridiculous from a logical perspective, just like how prejudice against ethnic, religious, and LGBTQ minorities is ridiculous from a purely logical perspective yet it still unfortunately exists.
