Thank you so much for all your videos. I find normally that I resort to watch videos on OCD for a short amount of time to fuel reassurance/compulsion but with yours I will always watch till the end feel not reassurance but like I’m truly learning something and starting recovery. You’re one of the only people I’ve found who truly grasps how OCD works and is able to break it down instead of others who just hammer in the empty mantra “don’t listen to your thoughts”. Truly, thank you!

What’s your thoughts on staying sober, working out, and maintaining a decent diet during recovery? Obviously those things aren’t the cure but every time I’m doing those things I’ll feel that my ocd is easier to manage and the weight will feel a little bit more lifted. But then I’ll feel better enough to drink with my friends and completely overdue it and have a whole 12 pack of drinks and feel like absolute shit for 4 days after. And I’ll continue this cycle every week. I’ll take one step forward and two steps back

I’ve had mainly depersonalization/ philosophical existential obsessive thoughts and bouts of hyperawareness ocd for quite some time now and I feel like I’ve been self medicating with alcohol which will also lead into other substances that got me to this point in the first place

I have chosen to be sober cause I can never find a balance with alcohol! Thank you for the vid btw. You definitely have ocd nailed

A good book for OCD is "30 Days to Stop Obsessing" by Harper Daniels.

While these books may be helpful for some they tend to leave a lot of people hopeless :/ anything with a short time completely underestimates what it takes to recover. This type of book is for the general population not ocd :)
