I was a jehovahs witness until i was 14. Absolutely a cult. I was horribly depressed and didnt know how to function normally until i was 23 almost a decade later. Gave me religious ptsd for life

Very timely rerun to post in light of our current US politics. Dr. Alexandra Stein saw the signs pretty early on, and it has only become excruciatingly clearer what she described to be exactly true about trump. Lot to take in but thank you as always for sharing important and insightful commentary. Another cult expert, Dr. Steven Hassan, has shared his insight as well on the cult of trump and there is an excellent interview of his somewhere on youtube. Anyway, as always we appreciate you, Dr. Honda!

There is a new series of the "Curious Case of Natalia Grace" (season 3). It kind of closes the story that was left on a cliffhanger. I would love to hear your insight.

I wonder whether Adlerian Psychology would consider joining a cult as actualising in community feeling...

Sorry I'm 15 minutes in and I don't know much about jhovas witness but I'm a Muslim and I hear so many criticise my religion the same way. It's isolation It's this and that. I think cult idealism came from religion and some so called religions are a cult but I don't see how jhovas witness is. I mean if they can work and not many religions are allowed to celebrate Christmas so what else makes it a cult. Maybe it's just strict. Also the idea of cutting someone off completely is horrible god forgives why not forgive people's mistakes. That I disagree with.
