Marinette is *NOTHING* like Lila, and Adrien *is* blind. It's taken him almost five seasons before he even remotely realized his feelings for Marinette.
I haven’t watched the episode but I did see those two scenes and I love that Adrien is finally starting to realize how much Marinette means to him and Plagg is the voice of reason. It seems like when he was away with Lila, he began to miss Marinette and that he wouldn’t want a life where he never met her and it won’t be the same. While he was away, he realized how special she is and that he always wants her by his side. I like that Adrien didn’t say “she’s just a friend,” like he always does and it was Marinette who said it this time. It’s starting to reverse. I think Marinette would probably realize that nothing is ever going to happen between them and it’s time for her to move on but Alya will encourage her not to give up but she does anyway because it’s too painful. During this time, it’s when Adrien will finally realize that Marinette was never just a friend and she was always meant to be more. Adrien didn’t even say anything when he was called out by Plagg after getting off the phone with Marinette. When Plagg said if he keeps saying she’s just a friend, he’s fake pasteurized cheese, I was like “You tell him, Plagg.” He’s known Adrien’s feelings since the beginning. I think he’s the biggest shipper of all. Does anyone know where I can watch season 5 with subtitles? It’s so unfair that the new season always comes out in Brazil first and we’re stuck waiting for it to come out in the U.S. I don’t feel like waiting when we’re starting to see Adrien realize his feelings. 😍 I need to watch it now.

To answer everyone’s question, yes he is blushing. I can tell because of previous episodes where he’s blushed at ladybug qwq! I genuinely believe Adrien is slowly going out of his “clueless” phase and eventually start to see Marinette as he always seen him. The kind and sweet soul who has always been with him, through thick and thin. I mean, like- when Plagg said that line about how loving his smile was to Marinette or the way he treated her in the call. He didn’t just not hear it, he just smiled and went to smile.

The scenes we see before the akuma attack are just a compilation of what happened after Monarch anounced he had the miraculous, Nadja Chamack says in the news that it had been weeks since that, so Adrien spend weeks trying to kiss her on the cheek not just three days which makes it even more obvious
Okay, just speculation here, but maybe we'll finally get some more Marichat because of what Adrien said about 'doing whatever he could to pay her back for all she's done for him'? (paraphrasing). I want of two things. I have literally been waiting for the reverse love square since forever!! However, I knew it was only going to come when they were both mature enough to put aside their instant affections (towards ladybug, and towards Adrien) and start paying more attention to their affections that grew over time (towards Marinette, and towards Cat Noir). Keep in mind though this doesn’t mean they’re going to treat these feelings the same way they did in the original love square. Marinette won’t stammer with Cat Noir, and Adrien won’t constantly profess his love for Marinette. All I’m saying is that I absolutely cannot wait for the Marichat scenes of season 5. They have always been able to be themselves in this corner of the square. But imagine what happens when they can be themselves with mutual attraction. They were never able to do that as Ladrien. They have so much more potential as Marichat!
The best part was Alya in the background. She was basically me the entire episode.
