Andre said he couldn't give Marinete and Cat Noir ice cream because they were friends, but I remember that in Wishmaker he makes an ice cream to represent Luka and Marinete's friendship when he appears and joins her, so either this is a plot hole or Andre lied on purpose because he didn't like to see Marinete and Cat Noir together 😅
As heartbreaking as the episode was I'm so happy about chat's maturity in recognizing the power dynamic (or so he thinks) about dating Marinette who's supposedly a fan and worrying about taking advantage of her. You gotta remember that from HIS perspective, Marinette already said that she didn't want to date his civilian identity and he kissed her with the mask. Someone raised this kid right and it wasn't gabe
As a MariChat fan from the very beginning, even I’ll admit that Marichat would never work out completely. Same with Ladrien and honestly Ladynoir at the end of the day. In the end, it needs to be Adrien and Marinette, without the masks, without the walls. That being said, this whole episode was a Marichat angsty fanfic and I am still living for it!
Ok but we need to acknowledge that Cat Noir rejecting Marinette in this ep is ironically, the purest display of Adrien’s love for her. He’s just realized the girl he loves not only was in love with him, but that he’s apparently missed his chance with her. And now here she is, responding to his advances and kissing him. He’s enjoying the moment, he’s letting himself indulge in her love. But in the end, he’s Adrien underneath whom Mari no longer harbors love for, and he can’t trick her like that, no matter how desperately he wants her.
Yeeees, my thoughts exactly! I though it was so mature of him! My heart broke with this episode. I mean, I loved it but it broke my heart nonetheless for them both. I don’t know who I feel worse for.
I love how mature Adrien is. Respect +++ for realizing the power dynamic. I may be a Marichat shipper who really wants it to be canon, but I still have to give him some respect for that.
yeah… he could have chosen to cataclysm the akuma (for ex. Cat Blanc) or tell her to resist and reject the akuma….but instead, decided to kiss her… like he really wanted another one from her….

A mix of all of this certainly would make anyone struggle to think in any solution. he choose the very first idea that came in his mind.

I'm the only one who thinks Luka might be the key for the things to come out okay in the end? like, he's the one that mostly knows everything, and in my opinion, he knows pretty well how to deal with situations around him, way more than Marinette or Adrien do. Kagami's also pretty smart when it comes to that part. I'm not really losing hope that there might be a giant plot twist about marichat or ladynoir.
THIS WAS THE CANON VERSION OF ALL THE MARICHAT FANFICS AND I AM LIVING FOR IT. IT WAS 4:AM IN THE MORNING WHEN I WATCHED THE EPISODE AND I QUITE LITERALLY HAD A PANIC ATTACK.
Everything that happened at the beginning of the episode was premeditated, Marinete keeps telling Cat Noir that she's his biggest fan, and during the beginning of this episode he was chased and surrounded by fans from his both sides, and in previous episodes, he shows fear of what people can do with his digital model of the alliance, so his reaction to the kiss and the justification being that Marinete is a fan has a lot to do with everything he went through, and what he says later about confusing admiration with love is also consistent with everything he's seen his fans do, he wants Marinete but all she says is that she is his fan and that makes him worried and his bad memories involving fans don't help, not to mention the danger she'd be in being with a superhero and the fact that she doesn't know who he is and from his perspective doesn't know him well.
@@lorrainedaloba7292 take into consideration that before she said that she also said she wasn't in love with Adrien anymore. That being something she said also is probably why Cat Noir mentioned his fans not loving him if they knew who he really was behind the mask. He'd want to be with Marinette with and without the mask and she basically confirmed she only would love one side of him. This I'm saying from his perspective by the way.

What if instead of Gabriel finding the connection between Adrien's crush on Marinette and Cat Noir's crush on her, it's Natalie that makes the connection? And if she does then she goes out of her way to protect Adrien from his father finding out and using it to his advantage. Natalie already feels Adrien isn't safe around Gabriel, and they did show a scene where Adrien gets to talk to Natalie about what he's feeling towards Marinette.

All the while telling herself that the fact that both people liking the same girl was simply a coincidence. The protective maternal side of her could not risk it if it wasn't. She had Alliance check for facial recognition between the two photos, her grip tightening on her tablet as the application scanned for a few seconds. A green "100% match" lit up and flashed on her screen. Shocked, Nathalie staggered to her bed and sat down heavily on the edge. Even as she was still processing what she just discovered, she ordered Alliance to completely erase the search and results, so Gabriel wouldn't stumble across it. If it took her last breath, she would not allow Gabriel to hurt Adrien anymore.

When Marinette snapped about people choosing for her, not being happy, and not being allowed to love the person she loves, I felt that in my soul because I've been there where people would tell me what to do and sometimes not get a say on what I want. Also, her whole speech about not being happy or allowing her to live her life parallels what she said in Jubilation when she told Mr. Damocles what's what because he was ignorant and honestly insensitive when he said all that stuff about being a hero. Marinette wants an everyday life and happiness, but obviously, being a superhero requires a lot of sacrifices to the extent of their own satisfaction. Also, there is a reason why Hot Dog Dan was invited to the wedding in the Jubilation dream instead of Andre, the sweetheart ice cream guy. LOL.
that part about people choosing whats better for her, I also felt that. people dont choose things for me now but when I was younger, that was the case, and now I just struggle with making decisions alone for not knowing how to choose whats better for me

I was genuingly SUPER HAPPY with this Marichat scene! I’ve seen them in comics but seeing it happen in the SHOW!!!!??? It feels so…. unreal.. to me at least.. I am still having a hard time believing this ACTUALLY happened. The writers DEFINTELY took inspiration from the the comic dubs… I’ve watched this scene like MORE THAN 50 TIMES, lets just say….(i lost count…..) But your right! A civilian dating a hero never really works in stories or shows…. The Love Square switch was fun while it lasted..^^
So the reason why they gave us such an affectionate scene of MariChat never seen before, is because of the fans making those passionate fanfics🔥yet, they blatantly slammed us like closing a heavy book by showing us the bitter truth, ending it by demonstrating to us that it can't happen because it leads to destruction😭😭🤣But I'll have to admit, it was breathtaking; this episode satisfied my cravings for my favorite ship, being the best scene I've ever seen that had me squealing and cringing thatI needed to pause and let it sink what was happening lol. Hopefully, this won't be the end of us seeing #MARICHAT scenes💗
No, you're not wrong. Marichat and Ladrien were always destined to be the ships that failed. What's going to succeed is ultimately Adrienette and Ladynoir (once we get the Identity Reveal). As far as Gabe figuring out his son is Cat Noir... well, I honestly don't think he's smart enough to put two and two together, but hey, there's a first time for everything.

i think gabriel is smart but the author does him dirty omg, there are so many inconsistencies in his treatment of adrien (sometimes he is really kind, and others times he is seem as a punching bag) so i dont doubt that gabriel is actually supposed to be smart but is written as a dumb character by the author purposefully in order for ladybug to shine (and as someone else pointed out above, he actually put two and two together and managed to suspect that adrien could be chat noir, so we can conclude that his intellectual levels fluctuates between seasons lmao)

I adored this episode. Yes, Marichat wasn't quite what I expected, but the chemistry was ADORABLE and THAT KISS. I'm also so pleased with my boy Adrien for realising, "this won't work". It showed character progression as he wasn't that smart with Ladybug, and in the last few episodes he's been the total MVP! It's actually kind of irritating that Marinette DOESN'T realise she can't date him as herself, and she too would be taking advantage as she's keeping one heck of a secret. And I'm holding onto hope for more Marichat scenes. Monarch is going to exploit this and she's definitely going to be targeted and unable to transform! Would love to see an ep where Cat Noir has to figure it out on his own, and maybe even gets annoyed at Ladybug for not showing up when he needed her. "You seem very attached to this Marinette person." "I'm in love with her!" "Oh please, you hardly know her!" "Yes, I do! She's my classmate!" "...Wait, what?" ...BRB writing fanfic.
In my opinion, Monarch knowing of Chat’s love for Mari is going to manifest in allowing Adrien and Marinette to date (cuz in Chat Blanc, he splits them up in order to akumatize Mari) so he can keep Marinette close, like dangling bait to lure Chat Noir.
I totally agree! The show isn’t perfect and it will never be perfect but this episode was very well written in contrast others! Also thank you for not saying everything is perfect like some fans do because you’re actually aware that nothing is perfect!
I feel like the line at the end of the episode “what once loved can be loved again” was also referring to Cat Noir’s love for Ladybug and that at some point in s5 he’s gonna fall for her again.

Adrien is not insecure about “people” not liking him. He refers to Marinette not liking him, when she finds out that it’s Adrien under the mask that she is no longer in love with.
Oh man, I can't get enough of this MariChat action. Like sure, MariChat probably shouldn't stay per SE, but it has already served it's purpose, and that is the simple fact that it has progressed the Love Square. The reason why it has always worked the best is due to both characters being the most genuine of the four ships. It was always the best because it was always the right way to build their relationship, so now they should only go upwards.
I don't see Marichat as meant to be in love permanently. Nor Ladrien for that matter. Their roles were best suited to make the eventual reveal of their identity - have meaningful impact. That's why it was hard to engage with both reveals in Cat Blanc and Ephemeral. As Mari and Adrien knew of each other, but didn't really know each other well. Also when Cat Noir admitted his fans wouldn't like him anymore, if they knew who was under the mask - I think he was referring specifically to Marinette - thank's to Andre's admission of her (now former) feelings for him. Not his fans in general. Finally, Gabriel will be more inclined to believe if Adrien has feelings for Marinette, he can use it as leverage against Cat Noir. He was convinced his son wasn't Cat Noir, in Gorizilla. So he wouldn't automatically leap to that conclusion. I'm guessing he'd be more inclined to try and akumatise Cat Noir, if he made a public spectacle of Adrien dating Marinette. Kind of reverse Cat Blanc.

MariChat is cute but I agree with Adrien it is wrong, he knows who she is but she doesn't know who he is behind the mask and she probably won't like him anymore if she found out he is the boy she use to love (but still does but has suppressed her feelings out of fear because he is her achilles heel) he wants to love Marinette as himself not in disguise and he wants her to love him back knowing who he is - that was the problem with him being in love with Ladybug he wanted so intensely to know who she is and for her to know who he is he wants to be loved for who he is not just for his heroism and that will never change for him and I don't blame him I'd feel the same way

I agree marichat won't work for now, its too risky. But on the other hand I love the fact that they were able to love each other romantically as friends and as a loyal supporting partner that way, if Mr astruc allows it and they end up together it won't seem toxic and we won't have any doubt about their love like in ephemeral (mostly Adrian) This season has been a tipsy turvy emotion rollercoaster ride and we are just in the 9th episode I fear I might need to watch the last Episodes in an hospital waiting room or something, that way if I collapse, I would be attended to immediately 😂
If Andre was more like when he appeared in Wishmaker it would be better, I can't believe he was akumatized again for the same reason after what he went through in the other akumatizations, if this time the reason was different then it would be better, he should already expect that not all couples get together fast or maybe never get together at all, if he really knew so much about love he he should already expect that even though being sad(It's normal to be sad, but continuing with the same frustration is not good).
yeah, i feel like if marinette didn't keep referring to herself as a fan and instead said that she's gotten to know him as a friend, things might have gone better, because adrien/chat hates being swarmed by fans who think they know him, so of course he would never date a fan, both for his sake and for theirs, but he just might date an actual friend he's made as chat (but of course marinette just wanted chat to know she likes him, so she kept saying she was a huge fan, even though it goes further than that)
Actually, In season 2 or 3 (i dont remember) cat noir found all the pictures of Adrien in Marinette's room. And then she was like "I uh, use him for modelling and stuff". By the end of the episode, Adrien touches Marinette's shoulder and says "I'm glad to have you as my fan" with a warm smile.
Hawkmoth/Shadowmoth/Monarch definitely gonna target Marinette. He said in Oblivio that their love for each other will be their down fall. Thx for the video. ❤️
I don't think Marinette is denying her feelings. I think she is finally accepting them because Chat Noir is technically Adrian true self. The one not controlled by his father. She was technically crushing over him being famous and being attractive. Not loving Adrian for who he actually is.
well not really he balances them both he is both Adrien and Cat he just shows more of his freedom side as Cat Noir. this also confirms she fell in love with both sides of him too.
As much as i held my breath during this episode, and yes, i loved their dynamic, i feel like after 5 seasons of stagnation, they rushed everything about MariChat in just one episode. I feel like everything that happened in this episode could have been stretched throughout at least 3 episodes, and it would have made more sense. It progressed very fast and then went downhill very quickly. The conclusion that they can't be together as MariChat should have been brought up like 2 episodes later in my opinion.
Am I the only one who feels a lil off about the way they wrote this episode? Don't get me wrong, loving the angst, but I do believe Marichat grew way too strong too suddenly from them simply being friends to now completely breaking any romantic possibility in the span of a single episode (and it's mostly related to Mari being crazy in love tm with Chat Noir almost out of nowhere). It's so sad cause I think Marichat had a great potential of showing each other's flaws/quirky sides and now they'll just be so awkward around each other :/
To be honest at the beginning I was a Marichat fan because Marinette is her actual personality the same for cat noir, cat noir is the person Adrien has always been just couldn’t because of his dad. This is why Ladybug and Cat noir would not work out because cat noir would like someone who isn’t really themselves. I feel now that those would not work and it would just have to be them with out the mask so they don’t have to keep secrets or keep personal stuff a secret so their would be no heart break.
if we’re being for real, yeah. marichat is probably and always was the healthiest ship among the lovesquare. but, duo to the imbalances, like literally everything. it just can’t work out, like even if chat wanted it too he couldn’t and puts his feelings aside. even for ladrien even if they talk again they would also never work out! and for ladynoir as they agree to be friends, at the end only adrien and marinette could just communicate with each other and things could work out😁. we might still get marichat or other ships scenes obviously, but probably after the reveal.
i've just binge watched the series for the first time and i truly didnt think id get this obsessed over it. I already knew about this kissing scene (cause actually it was what made me want to watch the show) and i was truly not understanding why people were celebrating so much the marichat kiss, it made me believe it was their first kiss ever. But watching this video made me realize (and correct me if im wrong) but the fandom seems to not see adrienette, ladynoir, marichat and ladrien as the same ship? Like, i understand it's different dynamics and I also do have my preferences BUT they are still the same people so ???? idk marichat/ladynoir/adrienette kissing scenes feels exactly the same to me even tho i have a preference for ladynoir. idk still trying to understand that, maybe it's all still too recent inside my brain. anyways, loved the channel and definitely will be accompanying you in this new season journey 💕

I agree with everything. The waving scene was cringe but they're just both so dumb, I love them, they're being dumb together. I do wish that the show would explore the ships a little bit more though, like it would have been fun to see Marichat's dynamic for maybe another episode? Or more like, that the events that happened in this one stretched out for a few chapters so there was a little more build up? Ugh, idk, maybe that's just me being greedy lol. I was kinda hoping for the same thing back when Lukanette was a thing, they did my boy Luka so dirty. Sometimes I feel like there's potential for more development in the relationships but the writers don't take the chance and it's frustrating. I would have also liked for Marinette to question Cat Noir's feeling a bit more? Like, wasn't the last time they interacted with each other awkward? And like, they stated they didn't like each other romantically and stuff and made a super big deal about it?? And now he's suddeny saying "ohh i'm always thinking about you" and she doesn't wonder why since they "technically" don't know each other that well? Whatever, that's just me expecting too much from her, I'll just chalk it up to her being excited about her feelings being reciprocated lol Anyway, moving onto Gabriel putting 2 and 2 together and figuring out Cat Noir's identity, I really hope it happens that way it would be so fun 😭 great video as usual!

I find it odd how Marinette and Cat Noir can just hang out like that with no issues. Cat Noir is basically a celebrity, not to mention a Super Hero. Just being next to him is dangerous, because if Hawk Moth or whoever wishes to do him harm learns of his connection to Marinette, whether or not they're just friends, that would put Marinette in great danger.
So... I gave up on Miraculous Ladybug the first time at the end of season 3, and so coming back to this I'm thinking... When the Faiz did this show become a Shakespearean Tragedy?!?
After this I think a one-sided reveal with Ladybug knowing Chat Noir's identity first would work out better now that the LS reversed and will be complete once Adrienette get through their angst arc , a big indication for this is how it's handled in Ephemeral because Ladybug didn't compromise his identity and Adrien was super respectful and patient with Ladybug not pressuring her to reveal as he understands it's a risk. I mean anything is possible now that we got a Marichat kissing, so I think Ladrien needs to come through in that aspect. Oh and yeah Ladrien need to talk about the Felix situation :')))

I have just discovered your channel, and may I just say, loved this video, your editing/commentary is on point. I agree with it all! Anyways, me and my brother been watching this gosh dang show for years now, and recently watched this episode. We were freaking out and jumping for joy when the kiss happened. Finally a kiss they will actually remember. I was trying not to get too happy in case somehow it was erased. But thank goodness it actually mattered, and wow the story progression is hard to get used to lol. We all just used to heartbreak now. I find it interesting that the only kiss where both were conscious, no time travel was used, and nothing was undone, was between Chat and Mari. Man, I loved MariChat since season 1, it always seemed like the best ship because of how comfortable they were around each other, they were their truest selves, not acting one way or another. I have still not emotionally recovered from this Ep. Yeah pacing was weird on Mari’s part, but felt just right on Chat’s side. Seriously Chat is the only one who never disappoints me. So hyped for the rest of the season. Anyways, my thoughts on what may come. I had high hopes for MariChat, but yeah it doesn’t seem to be the right answer to the love square anymore. I think the only thing that will salvage this is a final reveal between them. I feel like if Adrian tries to woo Mari, she’s won’t be able to get past how she feels for Chat. Ah, what a lovely mess we have ahead of us. (Edit: I can’t remember if it was this episode or last, but Natalie is so cool and is definitely going to take down Hawk Moth, and I’m living for it.) (Edit 2: OH! Okay remember the episode where Marinette’s parents thought she and Chat were dating. At the end when he hugs her, that one vs the one at the end of this episode, very different in their body language. Which I thought was a very cool detail they did.)
It doesn’t work because of monarch and the hidden identity of chat noir. The only way for them to date is for them to know each others identities after monarch is defeated.
Nobody wanted to see the love square flip and have them suddenly interested in each other. It should’ve been a dynamic that started off just friendly, and then became something more- like, that rooftop scene in that one episode with just the two of them was the start of a perfect Marichat story.
That's what he thought he has a bad experience with fans in both sides so the way Marinette was acting was more like a fan and not like a lover so they need to be slow in this getting to know each other spending time together
imo ladynoir is the best bet if they want a relationship to work. im js gon get marichat and ladrien out of the way bc one person wouldn’t kno the others identity and it’s js not gon work. adrienette would work but it’s also a risk bc if we go back to cat blanc adriens dad could disapprove of their relationship and manipulate it to get one of them acumatized. However if ladynoir happened they wouldn’t have to worry abt anything and i think they would form a stronger bond bc of that.

As a MariChat fan from the very beginning, even I’ll admit that Marichat would never work out completely. Same with Ladrien and honestly Ladynoir at the end of the day.
In the end, it needs to be Adrien and Marinette, without the masks, without the walls.
That being said, this whole episode was a Marichat angsty fanfic and I am still living for it!

Ok but we need to acknowledge that Cat Noir rejecting Marinette in this ep is ironically, the purest display of Adrien’s love for her.
He’s just realized the girl he loves not only was in love with him, but that he’s apparently missed his chance with her. And now here she is, responding to his advances and kissing him. He’s enjoying the moment, he’s letting himself indulge in her love. But in the end, he’s Adrien underneath whom Mari no longer harbors love for, and he can’t trick her like that, no matter how desperately he wants her.

Everything that happened at the beginning of the episode was premeditated, Marinete keeps telling Cat Noir that she's his biggest fan, and during the beginning of this episode he was chased and surrounded by fans from his both sides, and in previous episodes, he shows fear of what people can do with his digital model of the alliance, so his reaction to the kiss and the justification being that Marinete is a fan has a lot to do with everything he went through, and what he says later about confusing admiration with love is also consistent with everything he's seen his fans do, he wants Marinete but all she says is that she is his fan and that makes him worried and his bad memories involving fans don't help, not to mention the danger she'd be in being with a superhero and the fact that she doesn't know who he is and from his perspective doesn't know him well.

She had Alliance check for facial recognition between the two photos, her grip tightening on her tablet as the application scanned for a few seconds.
A green "100% match" lit up and flashed on her screen. Shocked, Nathalie staggered to her bed and sat down heavily on the edge. Even as she was still processing what she just discovered, she ordered Alliance to completely erase the search and results, so Gabriel wouldn't stumble across it.
If it took her last breath, she would not allow Gabriel to hurt Adrien anymore.

When Marinette snapped about people choosing for her, not being happy, and not being allowed to love the person she loves, I felt that in my soul because I've been there where people would tell me what to do and sometimes not get a say on what I want. Also, her whole speech about not being happy or allowing her to live her life parallels what she said in Jubilation when she told Mr. Damocles what's what because he was ignorant and honestly insensitive when he said all that stuff about being a hero. Marinette wants an everyday life and happiness, but obviously, being a superhero requires a lot of sacrifices to the extent of their own satisfaction.
Also, there is a reason why Hot Dog Dan was invited to the wedding in the Jubilation dream instead of Andre, the sweetheart ice cream guy. LOL.

No, you're not wrong. Marichat and Ladrien were always destined to be the ships that failed. What's going to succeed is ultimately Adrienette and Ladynoir (once we get the Identity Reveal).

i think gabriel is smart but the author does him dirty omg, there are so many inconsistencies in his treatment of adrien (sometimes he is really kind, and others times he is seem as a punching bag) so i dont doubt that gabriel is actually supposed to be smart but is written as a dumb character by the author purposefully in order for ladybug to shine (and as someone else pointed out above, he actually put two and two together and managed to suspect that adrien could be chat noir, so we can conclude that his intellectual levels fluctuates between seasons lmao)

I adored this episode. Yes, Marichat wasn't quite what I expected, but the chemistry was ADORABLE and THAT KISS. I'm also so pleased with my boy Adrien for realising, "this won't work". It showed character progression as he wasn't that smart with Ladybug, and in the last few episodes he's been the total MVP! It's actually kind of irritating that Marinette DOESN'T realise she can't date him as herself, and she too would be taking advantage as she's keeping one heck of a secret.
And I'm holding onto hope for more Marichat scenes. Monarch is going to exploit this and she's definitely going to be targeted and unable to transform! Would love to see an ep where Cat Noir has to figure it out on his own, and maybe even gets annoyed at Ladybug for not showing up when he needed her.

Oh man, I can't get enough of this MariChat action. Like sure, MariChat probably shouldn't stay per SE, but it has already served it's purpose, and that is the simple fact that it has progressed the Love Square. The reason why it has always worked the best is due to both characters being the most genuine of the four ships. It was always the best because it was always the right way to build their relationship, so now they should only go upwards.
I don't see Marichat as meant to be in love permanently. Nor Ladrien for that matter. Their roles were best suited to make the eventual reveal of their identity - have meaningful impact. That's why it was hard to engage with both reveals in Cat Blanc and Ephemeral. As Mari and Adrien knew of each other, but didn't really know each other well.
Also when Cat Noir admitted his fans wouldn't like him anymore, if they knew who was under the mask - I think he was referring specifically to Marinette - thank's to Andre's admission of her (now former) feelings for him. Not his fans in general.
Finally, Gabriel will be more inclined to believe if Adrien has feelings for Marinette, he can use it as leverage against Cat Noir. He was convinced his son wasn't Cat Noir, in Gorizilla. So he wouldn't automatically leap to that conclusion. I'm guessing he'd be more inclined to try and akumatise Cat Noir, if he made a public spectacle of Adrien dating Marinette. Kind of reverse Cat Blanc.

I agree marichat won't work for now, its too risky. But on the other hand I love the fact that they were able to love each other romantically as friends and as a loyal supporting partner that way, if Mr astruc allows it and they end up together it won't seem toxic and we won't have any doubt about their love like in ephemeral (mostly Adrian)
This season has been a tipsy turvy emotion rollercoaster ride and we are just in the 9th episode I fear I might need to watch the last Episodes in an hospital waiting room or something, that way if I collapse, I would be attended to immediately 😂
If Andre was more like when he appeared in Wishmaker it would be better, I can't believe he was akumatized again for the same reason after what he went through in the other akumatizations, if this time the reason was different then it would be better, he should already expect that not all couples get together fast or maybe never get together at all, if he really knew so much about love he he should already expect that even though being sad(It's normal to be sad, but continuing with the same frustration is not good).
yeah, i feel like if marinette didn't keep referring to herself as a fan and instead said that she's gotten to know him as a friend, things might have gone better, because adrien/chat hates being swarmed by fans who think they know him, so of course he would never date a fan, both for his sake and for theirs, but he just might date an actual friend he's made as chat (but of course marinette just wanted chat to know she likes him, so she kept saying she was a huge fan, even though it goes further than that)
Actually, In season 2 or 3 (i dont remember) cat noir found all the pictures of Adrien in Marinette's room. And then she was like "I uh, use him for modelling and stuff". By the end of the episode, Adrien touches Marinette's shoulder and says "I'm glad to have you as my fan" with a warm smile.

I don't think Marinette is denying her feelings. I think she is finally accepting them because Chat Noir is technically Adrian true self. The one not controlled by his father. She was technically crushing over him being famous and being attractive. Not loving Adrian for who he actually is.

As much as i held my breath during this episode, and yes, i loved their dynamic, i feel like after 5 seasons of stagnation, they rushed everything about MariChat in just one episode. I feel like everything that happened in this episode could have been stretched throughout at least 3 episodes, and it would have made more sense. It progressed very fast and then went downhill very quickly. The conclusion that they can't be together as MariChat should have been brought up like 2 episodes later in my opinion.
Am I the only one who feels a lil off about the way they wrote this episode? Don't get me wrong, loving the angst, but I do believe Marichat grew way too strong too suddenly from them simply being friends to now completely breaking any romantic possibility in the span of a single episode (and it's mostly related to Mari being crazy in love tm with Chat Noir almost out of nowhere). It's so sad cause I think Marichat had a great potential of showing each other's flaws/quirky sides and now they'll just be so awkward around each other :/

To be honest at the beginning I was a Marichat fan because Marinette is her actual personality the same for cat noir, cat noir is the person Adrien has always been just couldn’t because of his dad. This is why Ladybug and Cat noir would not work out because cat noir would like someone who isn’t really themselves. I feel now that those would not work and it would just have to be them with out the mask so they don’t have to keep secrets or keep personal stuff a secret so their would be no heart break.

if we’re being for real, yeah. marichat is probably and always was the healthiest ship among the lovesquare. but, duo to the imbalances, like literally everything. it just can’t work out, like even if chat wanted it too he couldn’t and puts his feelings aside. even for ladrien even if they talk again they would also never work out! and for ladynoir as they agree to be friends, at the end only adrien and marinette could just communicate with each other and things could work out😁. we might still get marichat or other ships scenes obviously, but probably after the reveal.
i've just binge watched the series for the first time and i truly didnt think id get this obsessed over it. I already knew about this kissing scene (cause actually it was what made me want to watch the show) and i was truly not understanding why people were celebrating so much the marichat kiss, it made me believe it was their first kiss ever. But watching this video made me realize (and correct me if im wrong) but the fandom seems to not see adrienette, ladynoir, marichat and ladrien as the same ship? Like, i understand it's different dynamics and I also do have my preferences BUT they are still the same people so ???? idk marichat/ladynoir/adrienette kissing scenes feels exactly the same to me even tho i have a preference for ladynoir. idk still trying to understand that, maybe it's all still too recent inside my brain.

I agree with everything. The waving scene was cringe but they're just both so dumb, I love them, they're being dumb together. I do wish that the show would explore the ships a little bit more though, like it would have been fun to see Marichat's dynamic for maybe another episode? Or more like, that the events that happened in this one stretched out for a few chapters so there was a little more build up? Ugh, idk, maybe that's just me being greedy lol. I was kinda hoping for the same thing back when Lukanette was a thing, they did my boy Luka so dirty. Sometimes I feel like there's potential for more development in the relationships but the writers don't take the chance and it's frustrating. I would have also liked for Marinette to question Cat Noir's feeling a bit more? Like, wasn't the last time they interacted with each other awkward? And like, they stated they didn't like each other romantically and stuff and made a super big deal about it?? And now he's suddeny saying "ohh i'm always thinking about you" and she doesn't wonder why since they "technically" don't know each other that well? Whatever, that's just me expecting too much from her, I'll just chalk it up to her being excited about her feelings being reciprocated lol
Anyway, moving onto Gabriel putting 2 and 2 together and figuring out Cat Noir's identity, I really hope it happens that way it would be so fun 😭 great video as usual!

I find it odd how Marinette and Cat Noir can just hang out like that with no issues. Cat Noir is basically a celebrity, not to mention a Super Hero. Just being next to him is dangerous, because if Hawk Moth or whoever wishes to do him harm learns of his connection to Marinette, whether or not they're just friends, that would put Marinette in great danger.

After this I think a one-sided reveal with Ladybug knowing Chat Noir's identity first would work out better now that the LS reversed and will be complete once Adrienette get through their angst arc , a big indication for this is how it's handled in Ephemeral because Ladybug didn't compromise his identity and Adrien was super respectful and patient with Ladybug not pressuring her to reveal as he understands it's a risk.
I mean anything is possible now that we got a Marichat kissing, so I think Ladrien needs to come through in that aspect.

Anyways, me and my brother been watching this gosh dang show for years now, and recently watched this episode. We were freaking out and jumping for joy when the kiss happened. Finally a kiss they will actually remember. I was trying not to get too happy in case somehow it was erased. But thank goodness it actually mattered, and wow the story progression is hard to get used to lol. We all just used to heartbreak now.
I find it interesting that the only kiss where both were conscious, no time travel was used, and nothing was undone, was between Chat and Mari.
Man, I loved MariChat since season 1, it always seemed like the best ship because of how comfortable they were around each other, they were their truest selves, not acting one way or another. I have still not emotionally recovered from this Ep. Yeah pacing was weird on Mari’s part, but felt just right on Chat’s side. Seriously Chat is the only one who never disappoints me. So hyped for the rest of the season.
Anyways, my thoughts on what may come. I had high hopes for MariChat, but yeah it doesn’t seem to be the right answer to the love square anymore. I think the only thing that will salvage this is a final reveal between them. I feel like if Adrian tries to woo Mari, she’s won’t be able to get past how she feels for Chat. Ah, what a lovely mess we have ahead of us.
(Edit: I can’t remember if it was this episode or last, but Natalie is so cool and is definitely going to take down Hawk Moth, and I’m living for it.)
(Edit 2: OH! Okay remember the episode where Marinette’s parents thought she and Chat were dating. At the end when he hugs her, that one vs the one at the end of this episode, very different in their body language. Which I thought was a very cool detail they did.)
It doesn’t work because of monarch and the hidden identity of chat noir. The only way for them to date is for them to know each others identities after monarch is defeated.
Nobody wanted to see the love square flip and have them suddenly interested in each other. It should’ve been a dynamic that started off just friendly, and then became something more- like, that rooftop scene in that one episode with just the two of them was the start of a perfect Marichat story.
If marichat went slower it would’ve worked but coz they rushed into it it seemed like she was a fan 😢
That's what he thought he has a bad experience with fans in both sides so the way Marinette was acting was more like a fan and not like a lover so they need to be slow in this getting to know each other spending time together
imo ladynoir is the best bet if they want a relationship to work. im js gon get marichat and ladrien out of the way bc one person wouldn’t kno the others identity and it’s js not gon work. adrienette would work but it’s also a risk bc if we go back to cat blanc adriens dad could disapprove of their relationship and manipulate it to get one of them acumatized. However if ladynoir happened they wouldn’t have to worry abt anything and i think they would form a stronger bond bc of that.
