Very clear instructions, really helped me a lot. I didn't understand the pattern but copied your video step by step and couldn't have finished my cardi without you. Thankyou.

I have to say that this is a wonderful helpful video. I am working the sleeve on my raglan top-down sweater and I am hoping that this closes the gaps. Even if it doesn't, I loved this video and found it incredibly eye-opening. Thanks Maria.
MariaXuxena, this is so helpful. Thank you so much. Knitting my first top down raglan and searching the web for just this information. So clear and calmly presented. And the birdsong in the background is very soothing too! Thank you again for taking the time to help us. I will check out your. FB page too. Best wishes from England. Georgy
I was looking for a video fixing underarm holes in a raglan sweater. Then found your video. It's perfect. Will revert back to it often until I get it naturally. Thanks from Canada.

HI I'm so happy I found ur video I'm teaching myself to knit and it's my 1st baby raglan sweater and I confused myself in the arm area and I just wanna that I loved how u explained this thank u :-)
I just found this video, your sweater looks almost the same I'm knitting for my son! she color as well. the free instructions I have did not do a very good job on describing this, and there are huge gaps! I'll have to get some dinky pointed needles tomorrow and try this. wish me luck!
I'm sure your underarm finishing is going to be perfect. I'd love to see a picture of the finished sweater ... If you like you can join my student group on facebook at facebook.com/groups/knittingclasses/ and share a picture there for us to see and admire!

Hi Ana, I'm using US size 6 Brittany Birch needles here. The size you should use depends on the yarn you are using and the gauge (number of stitches to the inch) you are trying to achieve. The needle size can be different for every project and for every knitter.
Great video, I have been watching it over and over butI have a question. I followed what you did, so I picked up my 6 cast on underarm stitches (put a marker after 3 stitches to mark my beginning of round) and then slipped all the other stitches back on the needles. Then I did like you and knitted to the last stitch before the cast on stitches and closed the gap. Am I suppose to knit the last 3 cast on stitches to finish the round because I did not knit the first 3 cast on stitches? Does this round counts as the first round? I do want my round to start where my marker is (between the 6 cast on stitches), because my pattern calls for purling the 2 first stitches and the 2 last stitches every second round. I don't know what to do. This is my first sweater ever, I started with this project. OMG!
+Stephanie Buono to finish the round you will knit to the last stitch before the marker you placed at the center under-arm - it doesn't matter if you did not knit the first 3 cast on stitches, the slight jog created by knitting just to the marker will not be noticeable. when you're working in the round, you're technically working a spiral and it doesn't really matter where the beginning of the round is once you've completed the pick up round. I place the beginning of the round at the center under-arm because this is usually where the shaping for the sleeve decreases happen - it just makes things easier to keep track of. I usually count the pick up round as the first round, but you don't have to. Some people like to knit around once more before starting the decrease rounds ... one round will not make a huge difference when spacing your decrease rounds.
Maria, I want to say thank you so very much for this video. I have been having problems with the underarm where you can on 4 sts for the bottom but know I have it. Thanks Again dhender746

Brilliant way of dealing with the gaps! I already started one sleeve, but I will try this method with the 2nd sleeve when I get to it. Thanks!
Thank you for the nice comment and for watching my video. Let me know how it works out on the 2nd sleeve.
Thanks for such a clear and thoughtful tutorial. I am about to begin the sleeves on my raglan sweater now and your video is quite useful.

Glad you enjoyed it!
very clear and helpful video. thanks a lot . can i use cable needle instead of double point needles?
Yes, you can use a cable needle to hold the stitches at the underarm until you get everything positioned to continue with the sleeve.
Very nice video. How big are the double point needles you are using here? What size would you use for an adult sweater?
Thanks. Ana

can you do a video of the math calculations on a white board or paper? and how it points to sweater parts?
A series on the various calculations needed for shaping sweater parts is on my to do list. Stay tuned!
Thank you!!!!!

Thank you for your help. However, your voice does not sound loud enough to be heard clearly. I have the sound on my computer turned up all the way.
Es un parto!
I can't hear you. My volume is all the way up.
Blurry. Too slow.
