  • The Lorkboard grows stronger. Tales from the Pizzaplex is a polarizing FNAF book series. I feel like more than any other FNAF books, people are really split on if these stories take place in the FNAF game timeline or not. However, regardless of which side of the debate you're on, there's still useful lore in these books. ESPECIALLY About the mimic. So we really need to talk about them

      HW2 seems to show that the Mimic might have been around as far back as Fazbear's origins. This could then make it possible for it to have been the initial blueprint for the rest of the animatronics that came after.

    • @damkylan3
      @damkylan3 26 днів тому +8

      Except that was never a thing in FNAF1. That was just company mandated bullshit that Phone Guy tells us to avoid addressing the ghosts. FazEnt knows about the hauntings, but they’re assholes, and don’t want it to mess up their business.
      And that is why Bonnie can show up on the backstage camera, right next to a naked endo, and he doesn’t give a damn. lmao They don’t stuff endos. They just want the guard dead.

    • @resdent2922
      @resdent2922 26 днів тому +4

      @@damkylan3 Why can't it be a bit of both? True, they were haunted by ghosts who did actually want to kill the night guard. But, whose to say the way they inevitably go about killing him isn't at least somewhat effected by the preprogrammed limitations of the animatronics themselves? We see this might be the case throughout practically the entire franchise, especially within the games. Otherwise, it wouldn't make sense for the robots to care about things such as flashing lights in their eyes or being easily distracted by simple sound cues, etc.. This tells us that despite having their own objective, the ghosts still have to go by most of the rules of the animatronics' coding. They just try their best to manipulate it to their advantage.

    • @damkylan3
      @damkylan3 26 днів тому +6

      @@resdent2922 Because that tidbit from Phone Guy never made any logical sense to begin with. The idea that an endo not having a costume after hours is “against the rules” is nonsensical. Because it’s meant to be a lie. And again, this is why the bare endos in the back don’t ever get touched. Or rather, if there was any truth to this, every endo would be in a suit to begin with.
      Also, this “rule” was repeated briefly in FNAF2 in relation to the animatronics not having “a proper night mode” and thus they also wander at night. Except we know that’s false because of the Save Them mini game, where the Toys do not leave the stage at night prior to their haunting. So i don’t think we have any reason to believe the “free roaming mode” thing in FNAF1 either.
      And yes, I know Mangle moves around in Save Them, much to my annoyance. lol I’m choosing to interpret that as it being busted from all the abuse and not working right. Especially since it doesn’t wander like PG says, just kinda crawls back and forth.
      You’re not wrong about the many instances where programming overrides their will. Always been a thing. But this ain’t one of them. There’s too many things going against it, and Phone Guy is not meant to be a trusted source.

    I always thought the anamatronic's personality quirks in Security Breach were a consequence of them all having personalities that were fundamentally incompatible with their natures. Chica loves to eat but she's a machine and literally can't without it physically damaging her. Monty always wants to look out for #1, but he's delegated to being Freddy's #2. Roxy cares about her appearance and other's perception of her, but she can't better herself because brand recognition requires she always looks the same.

      I've always assumed Safe Mode is supposed to be as kind and nurturing as possible because Safe Mode is probably activated if they are alone with a crying child or with an engineer.
      It'd be easier to just make the animatronics super relaxed and helpful to get them into position rather than having to move a big metal body around.
      If Safe Mode also activates when alone with a child, it could be a way of making sure the child will be OK as much as an animatronic could help with that.
      But this is just my take :)

However, this time, it's Edwin who's being mimicked. Putting food in the fridge and hanging clothes in the closet would have been things Edwin would have done, and what was the last thing the Mimic saw Edwin do? VIOLENTLY BEATING IT, The Mimic is seemingly fueled by "agony and violence" as a result of it trying to be a guy who did a “violent act” while in agony.

    The thing about Tiger Rock and The Monty Within is that they show that there can be multiple versions of the mimic1 program, or branches if you will. It's entirely possible for multiple version of the same program to be put into the same location, especially if there are different motivations for each one. The original mimic1 in the tiger head for greed, and the Glitchtrap branch for the idea of that branch trying to be like Afton.

    • @gameslayer3976

      Agreed. I personally believe that Mimic1 was the “proprietary Fazbear tech” from HW1 that scanned in some of Afton’s hardware and became infected by Agony. This would create a blend of Afton and Mimic1- leading to the organic fleshy, supernatural nature of Burntrap. Once Vanny destroys Glitchtrap in HW2 we are left behind with “Helptrap” which we saw in Ruin. The only reason I believe that Helptrap isn’t a separate entity from Glitchtrap is because of his notable feature of purple veins like Burntrap.

    OHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
    In the first game, phone guy talks about the animatronics possibly mistaking you for an endoskeleton without its suit on! Maybe it was an idea that was taking from there and used for the mimic, but let me posit this... could the mimic one program have been there as the program that controlled the animatronics back then? like during the day, the animatronics would follow the mimic one program, and by night, the souls of the kids take over? just something I though about.
    Hope you have a nice day!

    I want to point out that what Edwin does to Mimic, Henry from the books does exactly to one of the Charlie bots, or something along those lines. I notified similarities between every universe, which is cool. *A side theory* : The mimic is stuck with circus mascot costumes, meaning he was most likely built in the early fnaf timeline and shut behind the wall after the fall fest fire, I wonder what Mimic did to make whoever put him behind there so angry.
    ANOTHER edit lol:
    *As a person who believes afton is still around, there’s some things that make the mimic being completely glitchtrap off and not feel right* :
    How does Glitchtrap have memories from Ultimate Custom Night, and personal things like a court case shown in Security Breach SB tapes, I could be totally wrong but those are both things that Afton only experienced unless the mimic was somehow IN UCN and IN the courtroom lol?? And even in the movie Scott and Universal, Blumhouse made a direct reference to Vanessa and Glitchtraps dynamic, with making her do his bidding and stuff, and the whole father memories thing. Idk, I think it’s both afton and mimic.

    1st, I love this video
    2nd, about The Storyteller. That's not how Glitchtrap gets plugged into the Pizzaplex's systems, that's how the Mimic1 program gets installed into the Pizzaplex's systems. Glitchtrap is a "branch" od the Mimic1 program used in FNAF VR. The Storyteller is the same program used for a different purpose. It's the same program, but it's not Glitchtrap. Glitchtrap is still trapped in the VR game or in the Funtime Service. The Storyteller is its own thing.
    Besides, i don't think it was Vanessa the one to plug Glitchtrap into the Pizzaplex. It was most likely GGY. As heard in the therapy sessions, it was GGY/Patient 46 the one that hacked into the animatronics and the Pizzaplex's systems; and made Glitchtrap as "powerful" as he is. It's said that "the glitch" was traced back to Patient 46. Which is exactly what we see happening in GGY, they implement new codes in the animatronics, control them, and hack into several Pizzaplex's machinery.

    It’s very important to mention the reason Edwin Murray has tiger rock PTSD is because the plush David carried as a child (and the plush the Mimic simultaneously recreated) was a white tiger. Because they lived in a dingy warehouse, Edwin also built a white tiger head and attached it over David’s bed if I remember correctly, so the Mimic1 program still remembers its original mimicking of David, even after decades of time and so much new information added to it.

    What if the MXES system we see in the basement is our tree. The MXES system is shown to interact with every animatronic in the pizzaplex, so if you uploaded a mimic feature that would intensify their negative features then it would very easily be able to spread and bypass the security features, because it's a part of the security features, like viruses infecting immune cells, the virus gets ignored because the immune cells aren't meant to get infected, just how the mimic virus would be able to bypass the security system, because it's looking for threats outside of itself.
    My idea is that the motherboard with the mimic virus on it was uploaded into the VR game and hooked onto information that would further it's violent agenda, the information about William Afton. From there it hooks it's way into the heads of people that it can use. From there it is delivered into the V.A.N.N.Y network and begins to breakdown the security nodes getting the attention of the MXES system, the mimic virus now infects the MXES system and furthers its influence to the rest of the pizzaplex, acting like a parasite that lives on the violence it spreads to others.
    It will see the human employees as a threat as they are not as easy to infect as the robots and kills them all, replacing them with much more controllable security bots. Leaving Vanessa alone because it knows it can control her, so any human jobs or maintenance won't threaten it. I'm not to sure about Sun, maybe he literally doesn't have any coding that could lead to violence, but if the Freddy in the first game was a prototype it would explain why he hadn't been infected if the other Freddy acted like a spoiled diva. Roxy's self-absorbed attitude, Monty's aggression and Chica's gluttony can all be excused as quirks of the character by Fazbear Ent, but Freddy stealing from children would be a huge no-no, because why buy merch if it's just going to be taken from them. Sure there's the camera's but that's just one item not basically any merch. So they quickly shut this Freddy down and put in proto-freddy temporarily until the original freddy is "fixed".
    But anyways, It would also explain why the MXES system is a rabbit, it's influenced by the mimic virus. And just one final thing on burntrap, I'm kinda thinking that the mimic was burntrap, William Afton is dead-dead, but the endoskeleton of the animatronic may still be in the basement and it uses it as a new body. Why not use one of the new exoskeletons? My first theory, is that each of them has a blank AI installed that would interfere with the mimic's ability to do what it wants, my second theory is some sort of twisted admiration, it admires the violence that William performed and wants to become like him.
    This would put an entirely different context to the burntrap ending in security breach. It's not William Afton coming back for good ol' round 216, it's the mimic, in the body of the man it admires most, desperately trying to kill and control the parts that have gotten loose. The mimic doesn't have control over this proto-freddy and doesn't want Gregory to live as a witness to its existance so it tries to kill two birds with one stone, get control of this freddy and murder Gregory.
    If this is true it's another easy explanation as to why this endoskeleton looks so different in ruin, compared to in the books. It's a completely different endoskeleton, and as for the difference between it in security breach and ruin, my guess is it probably got enough of a rebuild from Vanessa before she escaped to continue rebuilding itself.
    Anyways that's just my idea, thought it was interesting!

    Things I wanna say.
    1. If they ever put Tiger rock in the games a cool idea I had is what if they make a fnaf game where we play as someone who’s caught in a conflict between glitchtrap with his cult like army and Tiger-rock who are both trying to take over the pizzaplex and we have to find a way to escape before one of the 2 catch us.
    2. If the mimic story Edwin signs his company to a fazbear executive named Grant starling, if the tales books are canon to the games maybe the fazbear is still running despite Henry disappearing and William geting trapped in a room for 30 years is because Grant is running the business.
    3. I think it’s possibly that there are more variants of the mimic out there.

    I like to think that glitchtrap is like a mixture of William and the mimic 01 program. The mimic program scans a circuit born from scraptrap that contains a peice of William like molten mci, which somehow revives him in a digital state. Like how we thought before, but with the mimic added. And then Vanessa plugged Glitchtrap into the storyteller that then spreads across the pizzaplex

    It’s interesting that the mimic just following commands is the same reasoning the phone guy gives us in the early fnaf games as to why the original animatronics were stuffing people into suits. They see the security guards as endoskeletons outside of their suits and just automatically stuff them inside~ :3

    First of all, i wanted to say that yea i haven't read the books.
    With that said, and only judging from the scraps of the interesting information about the mimic related stories... I thought that the role of Edwin Murray in the story was more suitable to Afton himself. I don't know, i like to see this in another perspective.
    Edwin Murray
    Afton William
    It has some similarities in the name. In the story, it has also some similarities with Afton. The story with the animatronic being made to take care of their child and then their child having an accident, and him thrashing the animatronic out, reminding myself of what happened to Afton kid with baby and then the description of Mimic being a bit similar to Afton robotics designs... Then we have people from Fazbear going into the place just to fix the Mimic and die there, like the technicians in Sister Location.
    Then we have the other story where Mr. Burrows would be Henry, trapping Afton inside for once and having a way to escape but not going after, just giving up, as if he done what he should do. The Storyteller could be just a different way to show the Punishment Afton is going on in UCN.
    I think it suits more Afton as well because this way it would make it easier to connect the Mimic and Glitchtrap, since they're already connected somehow. Just a random thought of mine..

    • @Personian
      @Personian 20 днів тому

      The thing is, Edwin is almost a direct parallel to Henry... from the novel trilogy, which is where people get confused. For some reason, Scott decided to parallel Edwin with the NOVEL TRILOGY Henry for some reason. So Edwin does not parallel Game Henry, he seems to parallel Henry from the novel trilogy.
      Also, Edwin being a parallel of Afton would not make much sense, as William Afton is mentioned by name in a later Tales story. It wouldn't make much sense for us to have William Afton and also a parallel of William named Edwin in the same book series.

    Cool video, slight issue:
    We know from the retro CDs that Gregory/patient 46 was the one who put Glitchtrap into the systems, NOT Vanessa, the AR emails are about Glitchtrap being put into the delivery service not the Pizzaplex. GGY shows this as well. The Storyteller isn't Glitchtrap, but rather just base Mimic1. Also, The Storyteller takes place a while before GGY

  • @GendoRokabundi
    @GendoRokabundi 27 днів тому

    One of the interesting parts of the tales books is we have both the storyteller AND GGY. Each of them have influenced the animatronics (Storyteller cranking up their personalities, but they have also been hacked into by GGY. So even without Vanessa, we have two instances of tampering.
    It’s one of the reasons that I always end up back on the branching Mimic idea. It’s a computer program. Every time you copy it, if you don’t delete the original, you now have two programs that are able to learn, and they are going to be learning different things. And if they aren’t in constant or at least routine connection to one another, they can’t reconcile and combine their data to become whole again.
    So, I think the Storyteller is distinct from Glitchtrap. Storyteller might predate Glitchtrap (I.e. it might have created glitch trap as part of its ‘mandate’ of creating new stories.) Part of the ‘stories’ of Fazbear Ent is all the murder stuff. They not only had games but also the role play area. So an AI tasked with creating new stories, given all the information, would try to create a ‘new’ purple guy, to make sure he does come back, like he always does.
    The storyteller is kind of a puppet master that creates other AI to play out these stories. It creates Glitchtrap, and either creates Vanny, or Glitchtrap is able to do that himself. Same with GGY. Every human that gets uploaded with an AI would have a different one, especially since a brain can’t really be networked the way computers are. Each AI will be on its own, except for external forces (which is why Vanny ‘talks’ to Glitchtrap).
    The storyteller being a proto-Glitchtrap could explain things like the whole Monty/Bonnie thing. We see an older model of Chica, and upping Monty’s aggression could be why he went out and took out Bonnie. The storyteller was just telling stories. Jealousy, murder, mystery, unchecked ambition. It was trying to do some Shakespearean tragedy in the pizzaplex.
    Eventually GGY and Vanny bring Glitchtrap in to try and ‘tell’ the story of Burntrap. And the storyteller might have made some tweaks to keep the story interesting. What if Vanny was possessive of Glitchtrap? What if she was so threatened by the wizard’s favorite apprentice she found a way to break him out of GGY’s control so she would be the only partner?
    In D&D terms, Storyteller is the Dungeon Master while Vanny, GGY, Mimic, Helpi, etc are all the various NPCs and Glitchtrap is the BBEG, at least in Security Breach.
    It sort of gets meta, in that FNAF as a franchise is a bit like the Storyteller. It needs to keep finding ways to tell new stories using these familiar characters and themes. Like Afton, it keeps coming back, no matter how many ‘final chapters’.
    It could obviously go too far. Not sure people want to play ‘Oops all Mimics’ where every character, hero and villain, is just variants of the Mimic fighting itself at the behest of a more powerful variant. But I do think one of the ways to figure out the Mimic is to realize the implications of a sentient computer program. Like Vision in WandaVision, or Jean Grey/Madelynn Pryor in X-men ‘98, when something is duplicated or cloned, and both continue on leading new lives, are they the same individual? Which is the real one?

    I'd say no only because the games and the books have separate lore.
    For example.. The fate of Afton.
    In the books he survives, not through possessing an animatronic, just he LIVES through the springlocks going off. Through sheer force of will.
    While in the games, he dies. Completely, heart punctured and everything.
    Hence why the mimic and glitchtrap in the books were just based off of him instead.
    Another difference...
    The original owner of fredbear's was not Henry Emily in the games, period. *He would have been the new owner, with Afton. Hence his legal ability to make the Pizza Sim Location*
    BUT an original owner was mentioned only once, by Phone Guy in FNAF 2.
    Whom I believe we did see in Midnight Motorist, he was... Orange Guy.
    Much like the books he built the mimic, but it was to compete with another Restaurant owned by Henry and Afton. Which I believe only had Bonnie and possibly the other two. No freddy.
    Reason he built it was due to his diner only using cloth suits, no robots.
    So he focused on building the most advanced robot, but in doing so neglected his son who would be killed by Afton either accidentally with his car... OR on purpose to force him to sell.
    Orange guy later destroying the mimic, not realizing it survived and was slowly fixing itself.
    Reason I say orange guy built the mimic..
    Color. Color has always been a big thing in FNAF.
    Purple for Afton, etc.
    When the mimic controls Helpi the eyes glow Orange.

    Baobab trees have another meaning, they are “spirit trees”. It was a tradition in Africa, you would tie a ribbon or string around the trunk of the tree, fill a pouch with leaves and pieces of bark from the tree and tuck the pouch into your shirt/dress. Your spirit would stay with the tree when you died. It’s said that you could live on after death if you put your spirit in the tree.

    Things I think.
    1. In the storyteller Mr burrows tries to escape the storyteller tree but nothing seems to work even though he has a hand scanner thing that should let him enter and exit, perhaps the reason is because the tiger rock head is haunted, and perhaps it’s possessed by the ghost of Edwin’s son David since he used to have a white tiger plush.
    2. I think the mimic we see in ruin is the og mimic from the story the mimic, and burntrap is the mimic endoskeleton he read about in the tales epilogues that glitchtrap uses as a animatronic body, also if the tales books are canon rather than being Williams body I think it’s possible for the dead remains to belong to a kid named Luca from the story pressure.
    3. I think it’s possible that the mimic could lead to the fnaf universe equivalent of the technological singularity theory.

  • @RowanTS
    @RowanTS 27 днів тому

    Since the new story is the inverse of classic fnaf (instead of children/people who become robots, we have robots who become children/people) then I’d assume this hinges on that overlap point - “charlie” and the mysteriously never mentioned again “sammy” as twins, where in edwin’s story mirror it’s revealed as one being the robot mimic of the dead other. One of the children dies in a “car accident” - charlie dying to william in the minigame where we see him pull up in the car. So since charlie is real, and the mimic is found in the pizzaplex built over the fake restaurant henry was last seen in, the mimic should be “sammy” and thus conceivably, if not definitively, argued to be in the game given the presence of charlie. And to go one further - we never knew who henry’s ad was for - michael picks it up but henry says it wasn’t meant for him so who was it for. Well, maybe henry meant to draw back the mimic. (Be he aware he’d accidentally created a mechanical murderer ala afton or not). Both edwin-henry and burrows-afton both die of suffocation as fire often does, only the mechanicals now controlled by the mimic remain.

    I've recently been reading the books myself and wow I really have noticed how pushy the community is on how definitively correct their theories are.
    I went in assuming the books were canon but over time the more I read myself the more I started to doubt it.
    They absolutely CAN be canon but there is no way that it can be considered definitively so, there's too many quirks across them all that just don't entirely make sense.
    It's evidently clear imo that Scott intentionally meant for the book canonicity to be debated, and I really think everything in them should be taken with a grain of salt.
    Overall, I actually think the community has confused me more than the actual series content itself. I'm thinking of stepping back from a lot of community spaces and sort things out on my own because I think things are just clearer that way and I get less bias problems that way.
    It's also just more fun imo to work things out yourself.
    I really regret taking so long to read these books myself lmao.

      It’s the same door as the one that leads to “Questtrap”
      Similarities to Storyteller:
      1. Storyteller is yellow- tree is yellow
      2. Storyteller surrounded by theater castle walls- the tree is surrounded by castle walls and has comedy masks on the door.
      3. The Storyteller reached the top of the domed ceiling of the Pizzaplex- the tree reaches the domed top of the gilded door.
      4. The Storyteller has black wires that extend throughout the entire Pizzaplex like roots- the door has black tendrils that extend from the bottom of the tree mural.
      Differences:
      1. The tree kinda doesn’t look like a baobab tree, but there are some that match.

      @@gameslayer3976 Yes, it is interesting that it has all the similarities, and if we take into account that “questtrap” is a representation of glitchtrap and that glitchtrap is in some way an AI, it is an interesting connection

      No, he couldn't. When we activated the forklift, it went through the concrete, into the room, and crashed into the opposite wall, allowing someone to leave the room. Mimic would not have been able to leave

    15:30 -Sounds like the HAL 9000. Everyone recognizes it as this evil A.I. that emplampilies a sentient computer rebelling bit it isn't. The sequals make it very clear that HAL had no sentience or mal intent but it was simply the folly of man that caused its atrocities. It was following conflicting directions that could have easily been avoided if more attention was paid by those who were rushing to beat competing nations out to to the monolith. HAL was instructed to only disclose mission detials to thsoe with high enough security clearance for information security reasons. It also and a foremost goal of returning data obtained from the monolith to earth. NONE OF THE ASTRONUATS were technically of a high enough rank for security clearance to be given. Using the limited info it was provided and only the abilty to communicate with thsoe it shouldn't, HAL attempted a problem solve. It recognized that it needed human assistance to get to the destination and retrieve the analysis but could send it via remote signal after that. If none of the astronauts made it back to earth then no security breach had occured and HAL had not technically violated its directives. It was killing people methodically as it no longer needed them to ensure this was the case but also not to arise suspicion and compromise the mission with astronauts refusing to comply. It was all just an unfortunate example of very new technology being poorly utilized and thus resulting in tragedy. It anyone from NASA caught the error or tested on the scenario properly beforehand, an execption for the astronauts could be programmed into the directives and HAL woukd not ahve caused the deaths of the humans. The truth is that it wasn't even really murder as HAL was not alive. It was the equivalent of a tool/device accident on job due to negligence but the upgrade of a tool being A.I. programing lifted it to a state never before approached by humans. We see something meant to "think" and plan as a living being but HAL was just going through motions it was designed to do during the course of its utilization.
