Thanks for all the wonderful comments (and not so wonderful.) This was my first attempt at a film using only one camera and students working for free (unless you count bacon as payment)
The audio is terrible, but unfortunately, it was the best I could do with no boom and the environments I was filming in.
Hope to make much more films in the future when I can find the time!

I kinda understand the girl with red hair's pain, my parents are very religious and one day they caught me cross dressing with a guy i liked(she was also cross dressing), my mom came into the room and saw but when i tried to talk to her she told me to move out until i was normal again, i ended up taking her advice but when things got rough i moved back and lied about being *normal* again and she loved me again, we still tend to cross dress when were sure nobody is home, sometimes we do it for comic-con.

Despite the shortcomings this was a great video.
Been a part of many short films where bacon (or fill in the blank) was the preferred method of payment.
    🤭
I also understand that you having to work with what is available to you.
Despite expecting it to happen, it still broke my heart when the daughter started crying.
Too much life experience through dear friends with helping them through the hurt and rejection.
    Good job.

Sorry, I could only watch the first 3-1/2 minutes before I stopped. The technical aspects of this video --- editing, somewhat directing & writing, but primarily editing is just too poor for me to continue. You'd think the makers of this never watched any REAL movies --- how they are put together and written as well as acted. And I'm not talking about "high-professional" methods -- just basic things like script, directing and smooth editing.

This fetish with addictive texting is bad enough but it's proliferation in films is rubbish.

A sign that the filmmakers hadn’t succeeded at achieving their goal of telling a persuasive story of young gay angst was when they stopped telling the story and switched at the end to voice-over narration. In the end this part-drama, part-documentary raises important issues but asks viewers to persevere through 16 minutes of bad dialogue, mediocre acting, and amateur production values. If, instead of this, the cast and crew had sat down in front of camera and each told their own individual stories about living as lgbt persons, I suggest they would have ended up with a more genuine film and, arguably, a lot more sincerity.

We all have our own ideas about what makes a good film. The sound was bad yes and the dialogue could have been better, but I enjoyed learning from it and I am proud at what I was able to do with what I had. :)

Ashley Tyler I’m glad you enjoyed making it. What I learned from working professionally in film & tv was that even directors with good budgets and teams soon revealed their limits when they were too ambitious. My well-intentioned advice is that it’s ok to stretch your interpretative skills, but to work within, not beyond, your team’s technical restraints; audiences recognise humility and authenticity and will be more sympathetic to the idea behind the film.

This seems very homemade and the acting and cinematography is horrible.
