even if Nintendo wanted to sell off to Disney in 2016, they knew that SMO, BOTW, and Pokémon go were in the hopper. even if they didn't anticipate them be the massive successes they were, at the very least, they knew that they'd be successful and if they waited a two or three years, they could definitely get a better price out of a purchaser. even with METI's current policy, I kind of doubt a company like Nintendo would be looked up on as a very favorable takeover. (And Couche-tard's bid for 7-Eleven is pure lol)
Movie wise during the 2010s this would’ve been a good acquisition and we’ve probably would’ve of gotten a Mario Movie which acts as just an Amazing Animated Movie that can be placed in the same tiers as Disney 2d Movies like Norte Dame, Tarzan, Aladdin and more + they were still pumping out bangers movies like Wreck It Ralph, Toy Story 3 and Tangled. Nintendo had a hands on approach making The Mario Movie and making sure Illumination doesn’t make it shit, it was the still shit but with Amazing Visuals covering it. Disney has stories in every movie they make and a Disney Mario Movie would’ve of probably peak if Disney assigned a previous writer for their animated movies that were successes and we would’ve had an amazing Mario Movie that charming, funny, has good pacing, has an epic story and not making my goat Bowser so pathetic, they’ve probably would got more resources to a better Nintendo Cinematic universe than Illumination being allergic to good storytelling. Just my Opinion though, the Disney Hate is mostly justified but too Overblown to the point of being souneducated on how a business actually runs. The old live action Mario Movie was peak and better than Illumination Mario Movie
Had this happened, no doubt that the two companies would have the lobbying power to enforce Copyright Law to the extreme. They already had Copyright Lobbyists in the House and Senate.
Would be ironic if Nintendo wanted to buy Disney instead. Would be curious to see how that would play out. Have Mario collect Mickey's soul. I think they will stop producing Switch 1 consoles atleast 2 and a half years after the Switch 2 is out, but I've also seen some people saying the most likely scenario is the Switch being discontinued 12 months after the Switch 2 is out.
Interesting - not sure when I'll get to this as I have a lot on the boil right now but will definitely make a note to look into it.
@nintendoforecast Thanks 👍
even if Nintendo wanted to sell off to Disney in 2016, they knew that SMO, BOTW, and Pokémon go were in the hopper. even if they didn't anticipate them be the massive successes they were, at the very least, they knew that they'd be successful and if they waited a two or three years, they could definitely get a better price out of a purchaser.
even with METI's current policy, I kind of doubt a company like Nintendo would be looked up on as a very favorable takeover.
Misread the title as “When Nintendo considered buying Disney.” XD.
Now that I would support.
7:02 How did Elon Musk sneak his way into this video?
Tds
Side Scrollers mentioned!
Had this happened, no doubt that the two companies would have the lobbying power to enforce Copyright Law to the extreme. They already had Copyright Lobbyists in the House and Senate.
I dont want disney in gaming since they already own so much of our culture but on the other hand, this could mean another spectrobe game sooooooo
You forgot end screen? As there's no apple video on screen.
Thank you!! Edited.
Would be ironic if Nintendo wanted to buy Disney instead. Would be curious to see how that would play out. Have Mario collect Mickey's soul. Wouldnt be surprised if Disney tries this tactic, when Mario Movie 2 becomes more successful than their chosen movie. Wanting to buy Nintendo, just like with the Mufasa and Sonic Movie 3 situation
As shitty as Nintendo's IP protection policies are, they have always made at the very least decent and very fun games. Disney would have RUINED them...
Oh HELL NO!! I do not want Disney touching Nintendo, my most favourite gaming company, it's already bad enough that they ruined LucasFilms such as Star Wars and Indiana Jones and they also ruined Marvel, they are known to play their dirty tactics, screw Disney I don't trust that company anymore.
Thank God that never happened. Disney would have run them into the ground.
Nintendo means "Leave luck to heaven"...this is definitely a divine intervention, for if they sold themselves to Disney, the Switch 2 would be a repeat of Wii U disaster launch
Somewhere in an dark alternate universe... The tail of a bold princess (not that one)
Link open your eyes...
👀 Ho oh! Now let's see what we can do about this little rascal shal we pluto.
Linkymouse your princess has been captured by the evil ruler dark king of striped underwear hamlet the evilpig
You must save her before her princess musical debut.
You must wake up the speepy 4 Dumbo, Aladdin's magic carpet, a random bird, and that nerd from monsters inc.
Let's start with dumbo.
Little mermaid whay are u sad?
My hair gets wet sniff
Well try growing legs.
And so she walked to dumbo
Repeat 3 more times.
Evilpig the pig king enemy i will bring bold princess (not that one) to her disney princess debut.
No! Linkymouse you will not.
I have a singular personality trait that requires me to keep blond princess (not that one) hostage for no reason
Ok, linkymouse said but our shareholders will be really upset if blond princess (not that one) isn't on time fore her disney proncess debut.
Oh no! My singular personality trait will cost Disney 5 bucks!!!!
Here u go "hands blond princess (not that one) to linkymouse"
And thats how we saved Disneyland Paris...
Also some political bs, race changes, and really badly misrepresented lgbq and gay characters to "relate" to wider audience's
There was also a cg lion somewhere i thing🤔
Disney gets what it deserves... Nothing!
Nice to see them getting rejected for a change👌
Metroid is far better yes. He says what we're all thinking
I remember hearing Justin Bieber's going to sing Super mario's music. But Nintendo already rejected him!
I still like Disney, but I’m glad the acquisition didn’t go through
Even current era disney with lazy cash grabs?
@@napoleonfeanor Disney is many many things. Maybe the previous poster just really enjoys ESPN?
Still never forgive Disney for Shutting Down Blue Sky Studios.
Not just that, they have shut down a lot of stuff. Especially when Iger became CEO. They shut down playhouse, Disney. They shut down touchstone pictures hollywood pictures they eat shut down They even shut down their animation division, which was the whole point of Disney. And what made them so great?
What if they bought 50% of Pokemon??
I’m kinda mix not want but wroth seeing wat they do.
Nintendo is their own Disney, they don’t need to be bought
More likely that Nintendo would buy Disney someday.😂
That’s why I am against Sora in Super Smash Bros Ultimate because Disney could use him as leverage to buy out Nintendo if he were to return in the next Smash game.
I mean, Sora’s already been in Smash for 3 - 4 this October - years now. I don’t think Disney could use Sora as leverage due to the fact he’s technically under both them and Square Enix.
@ from what I understand, Sora and the whole Kingdom Heart franchise is owned by Disney first, and I found Sora's inclusion in Smash Bros. Ultimate to be very interesting since unlike other Square-Enix adjacent charcters like Cloud and Sephirot, Sora came with a lot of content from his home series from the start and he has voice clips in both Japanese and English, while Cloud and Sephiroth are the only characters in Smash Bros. that only speak in Japanese
It seems Disney was very opening with Sora's inclusion in Smash Bros., while Square-Enix always put more obstacles for their Final Fantasy and Dragon Quest characters
@@pablocasas5906 if they have the courage to have Sora in Smash they they should’ve have it when they considered buying out Nintendo.
No wonder they bought out Epic Games instead.
Thank god that never happened lmao
LAST!
Nice
It will happen eventuality. Disney wants to make a nintendo cinematic universe after marvel is falling off
Disney should buy HAL Laboratory to #LiberateKirby from #nintendc's evil grasp and to push Kirby to global heights like they did with Marvel.
I wish Apple would buy Nintendo so we would be able to play nintendo games on actually good hardware that isn't a decade old.
