theo was the champ here imo. I've been eating super hot stuff like this for years and the milk thing was on point. good move! Truth be told, it's not the mouth heat you have to worry about, its the stomach pain. Capsaicin (the stuff that makes peppers spicy) plays mindtricks on you. Your brain believes capsaicin is truly 'hot'. So when that gets into your stomach, you feel like your insides are burning, literally. If you're not tolerant to hot stuff, it's even worse. So, what do you do if you're in that situation (like all of these people were)? You do what theo did. Target dairy (milk, icecream, yogurt, etc.) these contain casein which help to break down capsaicin, and/or you could turn to medications like antacids such as tums if you have heartburn. Be safe yall!

Yeah everyone keeps being like yeah Cat handled it well, Nick handled that and still did all that and was even talking somewhat normally and didn’t say anything about his stomach or anything just that he would take his shirt off and even that he was laughing. And Cat was also sweating and clearly effected just handled it way better than the other guys, but Nick chugged it and kept moving and seemed a lot lighter about processing it.

I did the one chip challenge not to long ago and yes it was hot duh. It was expected. For sure the hottest thing I’ve ever eaten but I could still take it. What I couldn’t handle was the intestinal pain. It literally felt like razor blades passing through my intestines. It felt like a knife being dragged through my guts. It’s not like “oh my god I have to take a shit pain” it’s just straight up hell torture pain. I was in a bathroom stall of an LA Fitness screaming at the top of my lungs begging for gods mercy and cursing to the heavens at the same time. I’ve never become so religious so quickly. I genuinely thought I was going to have to go to the hospital because the pain was so intense and would not go away. And that says a lot. I have a higher pain tolerance than average I would say. I’ve been hit in the face with a baseball bat, hit by a car on a motorcycle, pushed through a glass door, danced at prom with two broken ankles, bitten by a dog, held onto a bunch of exploding fire crackers, lived with this one chick named Rachel, and many more high pain threshold activities. I would rather do all those things again back to back than have to experience the stomach pain of the one chip challenge again.
I have intestinal issues and I can't eat spicy foods anymore, but even the most mild of spicy foods gives me this pain and I have been to the hospital for it. I was given a "G.I. cocktail" which basically numbs your entire mouth and stomach and it feels like you're choking because your throat is numb. Ain't a fun time. The worst part about spicy food, for me, is not the mouth pain... It's the intestinal pain which is as you described it(I always described it as "Being stabbed with a hot knife", followed by my asshole feeling like it's being kissed by a volcano. Can't sit down for a whole hour after taking a spicy shit.

I can’t tolerate spice at all. I did the challenge when my oldest son talked me into it when it first came out. Didn’t even eat the entire chip and I’ve broken my tibia and birthed 4 kids I’d rather birth all again with 3 broken tibias than do this challenge ever again lol
I had a similar thing happen. Was on my hands and knees groaning in pain and was eating ice cubes my face and hands were completely numb from the cold I was doing it so long. There should really be a warning/reminder not to eat it on an empty stomach

Honestly, it doesn't take much, a nipple will give you some pain. I grow and eat habanaros a long with Ghost peppers, so I've got a high spice tolerance. The one chip is no joke.. a Jalapeños has around 10,000 Scoville units, 1 chip with a reaper pepper is multiple million. I use ghost pepper to flavor stuff and give it heat, but i dont (i have done it) eat them straight like Habanaros.
There's restaurants that use some of the world's hottest peppers that make you sign waivers to eat it, like The 'Four Horsemen' burger.
Some people have had seizures from the one chip challenge.
At this point they're breeding peppers just to be the world's new hottest pepper, they don't care about flavor anymore lol.
