I can so relate so much to Linda's comment of people being busy with their own lives. Not a complaint about the wonderful people in my life, but being just me, I was ready to go be busy beyond responsibilities. Retirement truly began when I sold my townhome and hit the road. People have been supportive, but they don't get it and that is fine. I am finally doing something besides waiting for others to be available. No regrets. 😊
Thank you Jan and Linda for such positive vibes! Your interview with Linda (my friend) has truly been an inspiration! We have to let go of negativity and look for the positives in life. I'm also a traveling gypsy soul and with God's grace, I will continue to meet like-minded soul's in this awesome nomad community.
So good to see you. Haven't seen you in a while. You were one of my inspirations many years ago. No one really understands us unless they try it themselves.
What a joy it was to finally meet you Linda. You are another like-minded soul in more ways than one. I’ve tried explaining this culture to others, and you certainly hit the nail on the head. We are all so different yet so similar. I am only part time and only the camp in the winter meet ups but a new world has opened up for me. I have met some of the most amazing women that I never would’ve met otherwise. ♥️♥️
That was a good story - Thank you. I was fortunate and was very involved with a women's group for many many years. We arranged an annual gathering and up to 225 women attended - we made a gypsy camp, did ceremonies, drummed, danced, sang and got our food catered (heaven) we had classes with drumming, herbal, We laughed, cried and made lifelong friends. And then Covid hit. I have been very lonesome for my friends-now scattered. I encourage all women to gather - tell stories and appreciate each other.
new sub here. thanks Jan for introducing us to Linda. you are both inspirations and your message has come at a pivotal time in my life as well. ready to start planning to make the leap and leave sticks and bricks for the freedom of the road. retirement and downsizing have been liberating and looking forward to next step in this adventure. to share a quote from michael j. fox -"gratitude makes optimism sustainable". god bless you ladies and happy holidays to you both !☺😇

Linda is awesome. She is one of the first people I connected with in this life but unfortunately we have not really kept up with each other. It is a busy life and get distracted often from things we want to do. I am hoping to reconnect with her some day soon.

Thank you for this interview Jan. I have been a nomad in my Gypsy wagon for 4 years and love it, but considering or actually praying about whether or not to get a tiny home on acreage. I have found one here in Texas but need the ok from above. Never want to just sit still and make house payments, need to travel but a home base would be nice. 🙏🙏🙏
Great Story as I sit here in Bricks, wanting to do what she is doing! I like that 90 day plan. I have a plan - the Vanfest and Skoolie Swarm in Fl- Feb. 2025. Loved she started in the car. That's where I am starting
That's how I feel, tired of dishing out so much money on mortgage, & so many other bills with a sticks & bricks home. I would love to live full time traveling, if I could just get hubby on board with it. We will probably be losing this home in the next few months anyway, we are both not working right now, & my health issues aren't helping my job search. 😥
I wanna join this dry also I’m leaving here in a few weeks from Rhode Island. Heading to Texas to go on the beach and then go in a quarter Lake Arizona.
I think its important to have a home base if you can afford one. I love my house, but I have horrible neighbors. They pile their junk up next to our property line and refuse to trim their trees but threaten to sue me if I do. I think I should sell, but fear I'd never be able to afford to buy another house. I'm giving myself until spring to decide. I could easily live in my van full time. I've already downsized almost everything.
Wow :D Bless yall!!! I'm 38 and have been struggling my whole life with feeling trapt in the routine and mundane and its eaten at my soul, or perhaps I can just hear my soul crying out now. Do I have to be a senior to join you lovely ladies? I have the car but no experience

I’m always reminded of two quotes, “whether you think you can or can’t, you’re right”-Henry Ford. The other I’m not sure whom to credit…”do what others won’t so you can go where others can’t”. Sacrifice can feel fun since there is plenty of opportunities to get creative. I too like to sleep in the front. I too want to keep my landing zone. My landing zone may change, though I’d like to keep one…somewhere because as you mentioned, things can change on a dime. Love that most of tribes are positive. Refreshing! Thanks Jan for another great video. Stay you! Stay true! May you continue to inspire. 💕
Love those quotes! It's always important to pay attention to what we say to ourselves and others. There's another good book, As a Man Thinketh, James Allen. Same principal, we are what we think! This is why it's important we don't hold grudges either.
@ absolutely, without a doubt truth! You get more of what you focus on and be careful what you think. I still need work on my inner dialogue. I have a limp. A fairly drastic limp that isn’t visible, because it’s in my brain. If I had a visible limp, i would not expect myself to run as fast and as far as someone without a limp. Yet, I often beat myself up for having a limp. Thanks for the reminder and the book title. Time to re read it.

Hi Jan and Linda 🙋♀️ Enjoyed the video, thanks for sharing ❤️❤️😊 Safe travels ❤❤😊
Thank you! We're off on another adventure soon. 😉 💙🦋💙
Linda described the exact same thing I was expensing. I am happiest on the road and meeting up with our tribe.
It's a wonderful feeling, isn't it? 😊

Yes. Hi Dee! And you are another one i would love to meet in person. I'll be at WRTR. Will you be there?
@@ButterflyTracks I only attend the main RTR if I can for a few hours.
I'll look for you. 😊
If you're hanging with Lorries group during RTR, I may drop by to say hi. I am working both the WRTR and RTR in the sewing group.
You really need to write another book detailing what you did to save enough money to do what you wanted to do! Because it was an amazing story!
I'm sure that would do well. 💙🦋💙
Nature is so healing. Wish I was there 💕
Your video is inspiring me so much to get out there
I hope to see you down the road. 💙🦋💙
You won’t regret it
Thanks Jan for another nice video.
You're welcome! 🤗
Oh I loved this story! I watch Dear Linda all the time but didn’t know the beginning story. I want to do this and hang out with you ladies!

Yes, neighbors can ruin a neighborhood. 🙁
Neighbors can make or break your happiness level where you live. At least with being a nomad if you don't like where you're at you can move on.

LOL…we talk more about our potties than we do about our families. 😜🦋
🤗
I still wish I could, but I started falling asleep driving, and it is joy safe.😢
Yes, I have to stop and walk around when I get that way. My van is so comfortable to drive it puts me to sleep. 😊

Well Jan we did dance didn't we?😊

Respectfully, please stop using the word gypsy. It is an outdated, very ethnic slur towards Romnichel people. Thank you.
Is it ok to say nomadic culture or wanderer?
I do YEARN to take off & meet you girls.
