Totally agree with you ram . Houses such as creed, tom ford and sorry to say 'amouage' are no longer a patch on what they used to be. But on the plus side, gives the smaller independent houses a chance to shine. Independent, creativity perfumery is the way forward for me
I think his point is they aren't what they used to be... I would agree with the fact that Amouage isn't what they used to be....but I still think they are miles ahead of Creed
You’re right in calling out the decline of the house, but this is the way of the world. Creativity peaks, gives way to commercialism, and then the creative spirit pops up in a new hungry up-and-comer. Nothing remains the same, everything is always changing. ❤
@@RamseytheRam Thank you 🙏 Great views! J25 is a fav. Appreciate how you articulate clearly and minimize crutch words. On the one hand it is excellent how you share your heart investment in these scenarios concerning the forces occurring behind the production scenes, on the other hand it would add credibility to stay clear of personal insults. Even if such points have some justification, justice moves better through dispassion. It would raise the already high value of your work in frag eval & celebration to give insights into effects of house decline while keeping your joy as positive passion clear of the fray of accusation. If we say, "All are bought and sold," what about these few innocents? J25 is a fortunate place of arrival on the enthusiast's sniffing way that validates & proves everything. It is understood that wrong instructions to the creator returning to do 40 triggers the sense of injustice. Still, it is best to maximize one's own value by preserving integrity as possible.
Simply sniffing the cap of XXV is a great joy to me because that blackberry champagne vibe is so uplifting, and 40 is sorely missing that so your description of blackberry pie is spot on. Despite the stunning beauty of the bottle I can't see myself buying it without a big discount.
That's how it can go...I sold my bottle of the new version of Jubilation because of J40. I love the new opening, really fresh and herbal and for me it goes together wonderfully. In addition, the sour note for my nose has been removed and now it is wonderfully wearable for me. Thanks for your vids Ram. 🤙
So, I tried this three times on skin at Neiman. All three times the opening was far too camphorous/medicinal and that didn’t blow off for hours. Maybe just my skin, but I wasn’t feeling this at all. I’ve owned vintage J25 but I went into J40 as a stand alone and it felt too unbalanced, herbal, medicinal, and gloopy sweet. Like they turned up knobs on the Eq board but just went ham on the bass and forgot the treble. Whereas on Reflection 45 they got it much better. Oh well!
I bought an older Jubilation with the old box - fantastic. I checked it now for several days, the dried fruits are only the beginning, this stuff is awesome.
Your comparison video is just second to none. I'm so glad that I waited on Jubilation 40, because I was thinking about it quite some times. Now I guess I'll just stick with Jubilation 25 now. Cheers!
Thanks so much for your review Ramsay. I was considering getting 40 after briefly smelling it recently, and enjoying it, albeit only on my jacket. I was wearing another Amouage on skin and didn’t want them to rub each other out. I’ll take my time now to get to know 40. I’m only somewhat familiar with XXV, so now that you’ve outlined that 40 isn’t simply Jubilation dialled up to 11, I’ll take my time and test them both at leisure. I’m not surprised that this twist on Jubilation Man has gone the boozy route. It’s been the trend for a few years now in perfumery. Rum and candied fruits are done superbly in Frapin 1270, but I imagine that in the hands of less able noses, a fragrance could go from moreish to chuck bucket. As for the broom note - I’m very familiar with the plant and flowers in Scotland and New Zealand. The flowers have always struck me as having a vanilla vibe. The only fragrance I own with broom is Prada La Femme Absolu, and I can’t say that it really added much . If you’ve got the OG of La Femme, you don’t need Absolu. Thanks again for your honest opinions. Good to know some reviewers can’t be bought.
Hi Ramsey, I'm happy to have 3 old bottles of Jub25 (one antimagnetic). Still it is a bit sad to feel a need to make supplies of old ones than await new
Fantastic comparison, Rams! Very insightful. I always appreciate your reviews. 🙏 I remember liking my sample of J40 quite a bit despite the differences. I’ll need to get my nose on it again after this before plopping down my hard-earned cash. I hope Amouage comes around and gets rid of the fish man someday. Hardly likely with the profits they’re making now. Oh well, one can dream 😴💭
@After getting Jubi 40, and having an old snap-cap version of Jubi, I can say this: original Jubi is legendary, the new Jubi is a pale comparison, Jubi 40 isn’t nearly as good but it’s better than new Jubi by far. The new versions are simply pale and flat, lifeless, none of that resinous, juicy, honey and blackberry. This is what Jubi 40 brings to the table. But I agree it’s not nearly as well blended or balanced. But it’s better than new Jubi by far. In fact, 40 smells like a condensed version of new Jubi, so they are much more related than to old Jubi, but at least it is not so flat. Alas, I fear we must say goodbye. For new buyers who don’t want to search endlessly on auction sites and pay crazy amounts of money, I’d honestly recommend Jubi 40 over new Jubi XXV any day of the week and twice on Sunday. Otherwise, forget about it and move on.
I already knew where this review was going before I even clicked on it lol, but I see you wearing that Les Abastraits shirt! Currently collecting more and more TRNP so I will definitely send you a big pack of samples to try out once my bank account tells me Im not allowed to get any more lol.
Gosh, I miss the old Amouage! What I have from Christopher Chong‘s era and prior gives me so much joy. Ramsey, since I have now fully explored the women‘s line and the Library Collection I am ready to branch out. Do you have any suggestions on which scents from the men‘s line are worth seeking out and wearable for women? I have Gold Man and Lyric Man on the list - what else?
All of them under the Chong Line are worthy checking out ... Jubi XXV, Epic Man, Reflection Man, Memoir Man, Journey Man, Portrayal Man, Myths Man, Imitation Man, Overture Man, Honour Man, Figment Man
If I remember correctly, the first edition originally had 40% concentration. I am also able to believe that the first releases also had "a lot" of natural ingredients.
Totally right, so I was in Bucarest trying jubilation 40, i was really going there to buy the xxv. Then i tried enclave, interlude 53, Black iris, dia man and... I went out without anything because they didn't have the xxv available. I prefer the smell overall of enclave also the dry down. But I will buy xxv, i have a sample and it is way better, brighter, deeper and with its own personality
Hi Ramsey, another great review! Thanks for all the work you put into your reviews' brother! To help us to look in the right direction.🙏 "When you do something with a lot of honesty, appetite and commitment, the input reflects in the output."~A. R. Rahman
I sampled Jubilation XXV a long time ago (2018) and I personally was blown away with how amazing it smelled. Very luxurious. The scent did give me a little church vibes which didn't sit well with me at first. I want to revisit it again in 2024 but I don't know if the current batches perform well or will smell as rich
Cheers thanks for the heads up Rams , I of course will stick with the OG,stuff the J40 and I’d better get a move on with a bottle of Memoir for sure 🙏✌️👍
Thanks for the video, will save my $$$. I purchased Memoir Man and have put it aside as you suggested cause the dry down kills me. Love the opening and mid but the dry down is wow must take a shower. I’m still trying but feel I have to let it go. What do you think of Memoir Man?
If you have a sample/decant of Interlude 53 can you do a comparison to the OG?? I got a sample from luckyscent and was slightly disappointed. I need to do a side by side comparison, but it seemed actually tamer and softer compared to the original. It didn’t give me that punch in the face I get when I spray the OG that I love so much. Would like to hear your opinion. My OG is a magnetic cap made in Oman that I bought in 2016.
Moment ago I have shared this video to a friend and said "Ramsey is the only guy I trust about Amouages " . And I was right :) Thank You Ramsey for your honest review !
Excellent review Ramsey. Thank you so much for doing this comparison. I actually was wondering about 40. And of course, it Hass to be some sticky sweet Perfume Thank you again. Appreciate it.
Hey Ramsey I was waiting for your thoughts on Jubi xxv and 40. I smelt the 2 and I think Jubi xxv smells more refined than the extrait. I do get an Oligarch/Isola Blu/TDH vibe from Jubi 40 with a incense note(just my nose). But I love the bottle though but I think I might continue on my journey and buy Jubi xxv. Anyways keep up the great work mate! 🫶🙌👍
Hi Ramsey, great video. I wanted to share my experience with Jubi: I have a full bottle from 2021 (old box but with the name in front of the bottle) and a 2ml decant from a vintage snap cap. I can guarantee, in terms of performances there is no differences. They both lasts and projects okay. Jubilation was never something like interlude. In terms of smell, they are slightly different in the heart, I get more florals in vintage version and a little bit of more complexity but nothing so evident. Maybe it’s just the oxidation/aging of the perfume. Cheers from Italy 🇮🇹
Hello Matteo, im considering to buy 2021 batch JB XXV same as yours, old box, but probably name in front of the bottle. I was really wondering about longevity on this batch, could you tell me how is it? And do you have any comments about maceration, maybe after some time 2021 will evolve when some oxygen gets inside? Thanks
@@karrolis7In general it’s not a strong frangrance at all, moderate longevity and sillage. The smell is incredible though. I’ve recently tried Jubilation 40 and i can say that it’s another experience from the edp. Much more depth and performances overall.
Hey Ramsey interesting how different opinions are .Sebastian perfumeguy finds it awesome and better than the newer reformulated versions of jubilation 25....
I was really skeptical after watching your comparison and I understand that smell is really subjective so I had to buy a small sample, after testing it myself well guess what …. You were absolutely right. I am already done with this fragrance after the opening
Great in depth review of 40. Much appreciated. Not sure why there was no mention of the reformulated current version of 25 thats out that is an eau de cologne compared to the even just 3-4 years ago version. Have long felt the older version of 25 is a masterpiece and truly in the top 5 greatest of all time. (And I've smelled/owned hundreds) Agree. Its very, very tragic what has happened to Amouage after Chirstopher Chong's leaving. Bracken, Fate, the absolute brilliant Memoir (reduced to eau de cologne concentration), Beloved, Honor, etc. Still can enjoy the releases from his era that are available. Interlude woman is very unisex and smells like Serge Luten's, Chene, which is either discontinued or unavailable in the US. Also, brilliant frag under C Chong. That said, Purpose, which is new does hearken back to the old Amouage and could easily be in the library collection. Very dry and woody and pretty original with bergamot and pepper playing interestingly on top of such dryness.
I had such high hopes for this one, got myself down to Harrods a few weeks back for a sniff, and.. yeah, it’s just not very good or even interesting is it? On the bright side, I’m seeing XXV available at some decent prices, possibly as a result of this release. Agreed on Royal Tobacco, kingly juice. Your divorce comment.. maybe I’ve missed stuff in previous videos, but really sorry to hear that, hope that gets resolved with minimal stress for you
Thanks for the kind words... the weight on my shoulders feels like feathers...even I lose everything it is worth it to not have to see her face anymore 😂😂😂
I just bought Fate Man and Epic Woman. It takes time for me to love Fate Man. I have an offer for Jubilation 25 Man. The new version. Do you think it’s the same as the old batch Ramsey?
@@RamseytheRam okay mate. Just bought reflection and it’s quite the same as 45. Now waiting for my Jubilantion 25 and Memoir (I’m dying to get memoir haha)
I have a comparison video on the channel between reflection man and reflection 45 and I thought reflection 45 was one of exceptional extraits that was different from the OG But check our my video to see why I thought that
Ramsey, I'm a kid, sitting dutifully at my school desk, hand in the air, ready to ask questions once again... As I've said, I'm looking for a signature scent, something feminine smelling, like Liz Claiborne's Curve but of better quality. Understanding perfume, of course, is about a life of learning and I know nothing. You've introduced me to a lot of knowledge. Guided by you, I've purchased quite of few perfume samples and I'm thinking about purchasing a full perfume bottle. I'm still mostly attracted to natural and essential oil perfumes, like Areej Le Dore. Malik Al Taif is the most profound and cofounding scent I've ever smelled. Still, Malik Al Taif is not the fem, soft scent I'm looking for. There is one scent I've grown very fond of, Frederic Malle's, Carnal Flower. It's simply like walking into a florist shop. I love it. Carnal Flower brings a sunny spring garden to the hard concrete jungle of NYC plunged into a cold, dark winter. An observation I've made is that the projection and longevity of Carnal Flower is greater than the natural oils I've tried from Russian Adam and Ensar Oud. I have normal skin. I've never had to use lotion in my life, not on my skin or my face. I've been fortunate to have good skin so I was surprise that attars didn't last long on me. It's not like my skin is a sponge. When I put on Carnal Flower, several hours later it's still quite strong. It lasts similarly to the synthetic perfumes I've tried in the past. Like Jubilation XXV, is Frederic Malle's projection and longevity due to the use of both natural and synthetic fragrances in their perfumes or does Frederic Malle use synthetics entirely? Frederic Malle is available in stores around the world and I'm not sure if I trust the quality despite the price. Is Frederic Malle just another designer fragrance? I don't know. These are questions you might know more about. I don't buy what your perfumer said about no natural ingredients are necessary to create a great perfume. Many people think we don't have to eat real food either. This brings me to the most important question. I know you're intimately familiar with Frederic Malle's, Carnal Flower. I would love to try a completely natural fragrance by Russian Adam, Ensar Oud, Amouage, or another natural perfumer I'm not familiar with, past or present, that's similar to Carnal Flower. Which natural perfume is closest to Carnal Flower? It would be a learning experience to smell whether or not a natural ingredient perfume would smell more real and authentic compared to an excellently crafted, but perhaps entirely synthetic, perfume like Frederic Malle's, Carnal Flower. For me, Carnal Flower does indeed smell natural but that's because I don't have a real, natural counterpart to compare it to. Maybe if bought a vial of Bulgarian rose essential oil I'd have my answer but... what do you think? I'm excited for your thoughts. Stay awesome, Ramsey. Note to self: Do not buy Jubilation 40.
Wow what a question... a tuberose heavy natural fragrance? 🤔 i need to sleep on that ...you have stumped me... if anyone knows any do leave it below this comment please
On a side note Bortnikoff has a Tuberose fragrance called Sir Winston... its blended with tobacco so it doesnt smell anything like Carnal Flower but its an interesting fragrance none the less
@@RamseytheRam What about my thoughts about projection and longevity between natural oils and synthetic fragrances? Do my thoughts have any merit? Am I wrong? Carnal Flower has lasted all day but Areej le Dore (both Malik Al Taif and Gulab attar) only lasts a few hours on my skin. I'm perplexed.
@davidhunternyc1 I don’t think naturals can ever give the same performance as chemicals. That’s why Bortnikoff and Areej Le Dore aren’t as potent. Naturals, however, don’t have a negative effect on your health, so one chooses for themselves. Naturals also are more expensive and much harder to work with, hence the price is suppose to be times higher. Personally, I’d stick with whatever you like and keep exploring for fun, for me it’s hard to justify the reason to look for “more natural” Carnal Flower, you will be unimpressed by the performance.
Excellent Review (per the usual with you). I love ALL the Jubilations. I do understand your comments, and agree with your position. That said, I find beauty in both that work at different times and needs. Hope your Sunday is a restful one. Cheers! 🎉🎉🎉🎉😊
As soon as you can, please get your hands on the new initio “narcotic delight” and post a first impression….i cant wait to see your reaction. Imagine side effect, but with the sweetness dialed up to 10 🤣
Galaxolide is the cheap material that is overdosed in J25. I think it's around 60%. It's a clean, fluffy musk material with long longevity. I don't mind the high dose. Galaxolide smells great :)
I never agreed much with the Salmon's creative direction but I think there is no doubt he has done well from the corporate/commercial side. Hearing casual beauty enthusiasts on forums and in public talk about Amouage the same way they would talk about Le Labo or MFK back in the day does feel a bit odd though hahaha. Usually though I find at least 1 scent from each of the volumes/collections that I enjoy and buy; except the Attars. When you review them, I suggest you do it live so we can call you an ambulance when you have a stroke from the rage after smelling Vanilla Barka. ;)
Greetings from Germany! Does the 40 has the freshness of 25? Noone talks about this camphoric freshness of jubi 25... It s only me? I wear and owe perfumes since I was 10. Right now I have ADP Colonia and Colonia essenza for summer, royal oud for something versatile and oud wood , ADP Oud for cold weather. What is a better mild weather investment. Jubi 25( freshness) or an ormonde Jayne? ( Never smelled anything but I hear ormonde man and montabacco are 10/10 versatile options)
ok ok i have been hunting a white snap cap jubilation but it sounds like you dont think there is THAT much of a difference. how much of a difference do you notice in performance between white cap and magnetic? I have a mag cap batch that is 1 year older than yours for reference.
I have , my thoughts are very similar to how I feel about most of the exceptional extraits... if you have the Original Interlude already you don't need the exceptional extrait
I just got into Amouage and interested in getting Jubi25. Thanks for your comparison, imma save some money and get the 25 instead. I know current formulation sucks, but Im gonna get it anyway. It cant be that bad can it?
@@RamseytheRam i just got my jubilation 25 which comes in the lates Amouage packaging and it smells heavenly. I really really love it. Really smells like a sheikh or sultan. This was a successful blind buy. However, I must say that the rumours are true. It is quite light and airy. I think it will be a skin scent in an hour or 2. I haven’t tried the older batches and I can only imagine how strong they were. I hope the juice gets stronger over time. I now have reflection, black iris, and jubi25 in my collection. I Love and enjoy them all. I wanna get more Amouages! Do you think overture man is okay? Im still on the fence with that one because I heard the cumin and animalic notes can be too much. But at the same time, I want to challenge myself and go for more challenging scents. I found a really good price on overture man (£140 at discounters). Really want to pull the trigger but a bit hesitant.
Well there are lots of smaller brands to support like Papillon for example or Areej Le Dore It's just the mega brands have their own guiding principle and it feels like that guiding principles is "Green"
Damn, not good to hear that 40 goes way sweeter, Jub XXV is plenty sweet enough. I guess I'm doing the smart thing and sampling this one (which I'm glad I did with Epic 56 and Interlude 53). I was planning on pulling the trigger as soon as Jub 40 hits discounters. And yes what the fish man has done to Amouage is a disaster.
I’m not too fond of the overwhelming opening of the honey note on the J25, but I prefer the J40 over the 25. I got lucky, though; I scored a full bottle of J40 for 195$ (yes, the authenticity checked out; I checked with multiple sources before I pulled the trigger).
My bottle of XXV looks pretty much like yours, but it didn't take me 8 -10 years to go through that much. More like 8 - 10 weeks. Which brings me to my complaint. I love, love, love the scent. That said, the performance is woeful for a fragrance costing hundreds of dollars. The consumer shouldn't be required to apply expensive non-scented skin balm and hair mousse to achieve something remotely resembling longevity.
The material overused in Jubi XXV is Galaxolide, a clean polycyclic musk which had its peak in 80's frags like Tresor, fougeres, etc. Here it takes 45% of the formula, HOWEVER, I tried to replicate it for studies purposes based on an incomplete GCMS report and let me tell you, the genius of the blend relies on the subtle (almost traces) amounts of naturals that give complexity to the composition. Yes, the formula may not be overall 'expensive' but here more that anywhere you're paying for the skill and creativity of one of the best perfumers around IMHO. Oh BTW, Patchouli is also overloaded at around 8% 🙂
Gotta go to the store and sniff it soon. Though it was never my favourite Amouage. On Epic 56 I would strongly disagree, it smells a lot more different from regular Epic than it seems at first. I despise Epic 56, it's harsh, unpolished and headache inducing, while Epic EDP is a masterpiece. F* fishguy
I see what you mean about 56, it's a little off balance in the first few hours before settling. The original was a perfect progression even if it doesn't last as long, although I think all day is plenty, I don't need to smell it while i'm asleep.
@@johnnyamsterdamxx well shut my mouth, apologies there Johnny but I think you’re on point with the hair and the Ram would do well to take our good hair look on board hahaha 😝 🙏👍
Bourdon said it all in that interview didn't he. 😄 A bit too candid for some no doubt, but you can tell he was still holding back. 🤐 You're quite right about the opening of Jubi 40. Seems like the only way forward for many brands pressured to increase sales these days is to either add sugar, woody ambers or both. Luckily, I'm a fan of the scent. Doesn't quite top the OG for me, but I'll finish my decant with gratitude and hope for the future. Maybe just gratitude. 😂 Seriously, I was yearning for a flanker of J25 for years and Amouage followed through. So, you know...at least that. 🤝
I did not enjoy the opening of J40 that much, and those differences were the reason why J25 is still my preference. Why change it?? Makes no sense, it was amazing the way it was. Also, these extraits are expensive, too expensive. J40 is not bad, I love it, because J25 is one of my favorite Amouage fragrances, in my top 3, with Overture Man being my favorite. Really wanted this video and can't wait for more! Thanks, Ram!
I was so underwhelmed by JB40. It seems like they elevated random notes, in the way dupes do because they can’t replicate everything. Also, I found its release unexpectedly low key. It came out when the anniversary year was almost over, following vague rumors, rather than a solid marketing campaign. Maybe they were trying to get the mix right, idk. Edit: I made my comment about dupes before I heard you mention clones on the video. I think we may be on to something here.
They could've made an Arabic coffee scent or fruity shisha fragrance or any number of other Arabic inspired things but the creative director seems like a fool who probably thinks based on what has been released under his tenure that marketing BS and higher prices are how to sell luxury products.
This is indeed very sad, my hope was, that Amouage at least won’t touch the old classics - as it is the company of the royal family of Oman. But I was wrong I guess…
The current "creative" director has zero creativity and ruined Amouage. There's nothing in the mainstream/synthetic world that's better than Creed Royal Oud or Jubi XXV.
I knew about him being at Thameen but I have never smelled any of their work before or after him... I tried to reach out to get samples for the channel but Chong pointed me to the brand and they ignored me lol
@@RamseytheRam One the topic of the video, can I ask you of you'd still reccomend the newer batch of Jubilation XXV, instead of Jubilation 40? Or any Amouage you deem worth buying as of now, for that matter... Cause, about that news, I'm running to buy Amouage fragrances until I can 😂.
Salty ambergris! Unfortunately I don't have an older bottle just rhe regular now of days xxv I did have a decant from a friend straight from his bottle it was diferent but not by much more heavy volatile at the same time lasted like 2 hours longer but never was an screaming scent the blueberry was more noticeable and the overall fell ofvthe fragance was just right but not much different like it's an diferent scent The new 40 has the ump was missing in the xxv yes a bit sweeter but just a bit it is also black currant for sure more ambergris and definitely more oud but not crazy much To me I like it just as much as the xxv and I think more because it last longer rhe opening in xxv is magical In the 40 you get almost the same airy expanding jubilation xxv after an hour In the xxv after an hour or less is skin scent like it so is in the older version the drydonw last longer in the vintage fr sure But the thing I like it The most about the 40 is that I get many aspects of the vintage and like double opening the first spray opening still has the expansion of the xxv but more heavy in the ambergris and oud and fruits a bit just abit less fragrance like but I get the same experience of expansion an hour later for at least 2 hours at least 5 spray of the 40 will fill a room easily and to me is the same royal like effect like in the xxv whit 5 spray of the xxv the opening it's beautiful for 10 minutes But it never fills a room like the 40 tge best part ofvthe 40 is I get tge opening of the xxv for hours I don't get that from the xxv I never experienced that Maybe it's an skin difference stuff But my goodness the 40 it's intoxicating xxv for hours to me Not only a beautiful skin scent after a beautiful opening like the xxv Tge 40 when they get to skin scent stays there for hours also One thing I definitely noticed Is the 40 when you smell it very close your skin it's sweet But in the air it's not sweet at all that is also a thing I definitely enjoy for being a high concentration oils it's very very airy and definitely smells way better in the bubble than close to your nose in the skin I'm very very happy whit this one specially because I personally don't have to pay $1000 for a vintage in my opinion I get the best of both worlds in these presentation One thing I also noticed waring the fragance for several days and you would definitely get amazed by diferent aspects of tge scent If you only ware 2 or 3 days Or only in your hands forget it that is tge worse thing you can do about 40 I myself made that mistake for several days just ware in one spot of my hand and I honestly was also very desapoimented I'm putting this comment up because I do also have many years of experience and I did taste thousands of fragrances As soon I started waring the 40 the way it supposed things started to have many different colors To the point I can't not put away this presentation So this opinion of me about my experience whit the jubilation extrait 40 It's the reason and the only reason I shared whit any one who wanted to read it Because I honestly want you to know that my experience whit tge scent Wish I ware it 18 times it's Just short to fantastic I can't be happier whit the scent please also understand the scent being of higher concentration can not be too expanding like the xxv but some how it does for hours the same royal felling fir hours an hours Friend of my has share he used 9 sprays and he also says the bubble the silliage is enormous for hours A very famous u tuber I remember he didn't talk very well about the fragrance as soon it come out then around 6 months later I saw him taking completely diferent about tge scent so in my opinion I think this one is one those scents who like it to be enjoyed at his fullest whole body experience Just my experience
@@RamseytheRam as usual by the RAM another great detailed review I didn't expect less! Thank you for your kind words Yes it is hard and frustrating to see what is going on in amuage From the latest of them under the fish men it has lost a lot the great appeal it used to have Even the paquege has suffer not attention to detail for how expensive they are Cookie cutting presentation to most of them The few I like it from them are for me royal tabaco silver oud jubilation xxv and the extrait version which it was almost a desapoiment in the beginning because testing it in one spot it's a dull muffed heavy much but Fortunately the fragrance comes alive in a full waring minimum 5 to 6 sprays it was a game changing I do have a lot's of diferent scents I know you can get very good impressions testing in a strip or skin like in the hands but some fragrances they really need a full waring and in diferent days and diferent environment jubilation 40 is one of those in my experience even when you smell it to close it's not that pleasant the scent needs space diferent body temperatures and movement help the heavy oils inmediatle And the fragrance open up beautifully almost airy I have similar experience whit some ouds of bortnikoff and some scents of serge lutens and jovoy To naming few Hopefully amouage pay more atencion to they loyal fun base not only the new candy sweet fragrances of the new generation
take this with a grain of salt, but I was told, by someone who visited their factory in December 2023, they receive most of the ingredients from France. Even the bottles are made in Europe :D
Is there any house today still worth discovering? With something extraordinary? Haven't been for a while on your channel. Man, your channel has grown a lot:-) sorry for the divorce if I got it right, keep your head up bro
I actually love the changes they’ve made to jubilation 40. I think the fact that they made it feel the same, but overall darker throughout the life of the wear just feels more mature to me.
Here’s Ramsey ranked list, a bit old and before he got his nose on a lot more ‘woman’ scents. Epic is ranked third… Ramsey’s Amouage ranking 34) Lyric Woman 33) Boundless 32) Beach Hut Man 31) Honour Man 30) Interlude Black Iris 29) Lyric Man 28) Opus XIV - Royal Tobacco 27) Silver Cristal Man 26) Opus XI 25) Beloved Man 24) Reflection Man 23) Fate Woman 22) Ciel Man 21) Fate Man 20) Opus VI 19) Portrayal Man 18) Bracken Man 17) Gold Woman 16) Opus IX 15) Jubilation 25 Woman 14) Journey Man 13) Gentlemen's Cologne 12) Gold Man 11) Opus XIII - Silver Oud 10) Dia Man 09) Memoir Man 08) Myths Man 07) Epic Woman 06) Imitation Man 05) Overture Man 04) Sunshine Man 03) Epic Man 02) Interlude Man 01) Jubilation XXV Man
Jubilation 40 is not $500 good, it isn’t beast mode and pretty close to the regular one, so maybe $200 good. I have both, 40 is more to fill the hole in the collection.
Douchafour said he didn’t remember what jub XXV smelled like before he started making 40. And he had to smell the vintage batch of XXV to start making this…😂so basically 40 is just a forced replication with the original creator not remembering his own masterpiece. The fragrance industry is some next level bullshit😂
Not to mention that apparently this fragrance when first blended smells like sulfide, they had to “age “it. Whatever that means, doesn’t sound like properly done creation to me😂
By the way smelled it a couple of weeks ago, unimpressed. Smells like generic Middle Eastern frag, too many of them on the market. But to be fair I do not like Jub 25 either. I just don't like the smell of galaxolide. It triggers a salivation 🤤, which I know... is gross to say, but that's how I feel about galaxolide 🤔
I know... 😂 not in a pleasant way though. You know when you're in a sketchy situation and your creep radar goes off and your mouth gets watery? What's galaxolide to me 😂
Totally agree with you ram . Houses such as creed, tom ford and sorry to say 'amouage' are no longer a patch on what they used to be.
But on the plus side, gives the smaller independent houses a chance to shine. Independent, creativity perfumery is the way forward for me
Personally I wouldn't put amouage in that list with creed. Creed is garbage compared to amouage

HUGE discount! 😂😂😂
love you Ramsey, I respect your review man. Money corrupts everything!
The root of all evil for sure

That's how it can go...I sold my bottle of the new version of Jubilation because of J40. I love the new opening, really fresh and herbal and for me it goes together wonderfully. In addition, the sour note for my nose has been removed and now it is wonderfully wearable for me.

Oh well!
Well said Tom 🐏🐼

I bought an older Jubilation with the old box - fantastic. I checked it now for several days, the dried fruits are only the beginning, this stuff is awesome.
When the woods kick in, the scent just start - I am stunned.

Still it is a bit sad to feel a need to make supplies of old ones than await new
Yes exactly....cherish that older juice! 🤌🤌🤌
Dream of the fishman flushed down the toilet 🐟🍥
Great take as always Ram! 👏👏👏

Jubi XXV, Epic Man, Reflection Man, Memoir Man, Journey Man, Portrayal Man, Myths Man, Imitation Man, Overture Man, Honour Man, Figment Man
@@RamseytheRam Excellent, thanks! 🙏
So they‘re all quite unisex?
If I remember correctly, the first edition originally had 40% concentration. I am also able to believe that the first releases also had "a lot" of natural ingredients.

Totally right, so I was in Bucarest trying jubilation 40, i was really going there to buy the xxv. Then i tried enclave, interlude 53, Black iris, dia man and... I went out without anything because they didn't have the xxv available.
I prefer the smell overall of enclave also the dry down.
But I will buy xxv, i have a sample and it is way better, brighter, deeper and with its own personality

Yeah I would go vintage if possible

Thanks for the video, will save my $$$. I purchased Memoir Man and have put it aside as you suggested cause the dry down kills me. Love the opening and mid but the dry down is wow must take a shower. I’m still trying but feel I have to let it go. What do you think of Memoir Man?
I have a review on the channel... one of my all time favorite frags
Yes I will do the same comparison video with Interlude man and Interlude 53 💪🐏
I'm waiting for the comparison too✌❤🎉

Thanks for sharing & watching 🇺🇲🇮🇹
I am sure he does
I was really skeptical after watching your comparison and I understand that smell is really subjective so I had to buy a small sample, after testing it myself well guess what …. You were absolutely right. I am already done with this fragrance after the opening
😂😂😂
Amouage has already crashed and burned
They are releasing a fragrance called Love Delight soon 😒
They have officially checked out IMHO
I have never smelled the newest version of Jubi XXV ... thanks for watching 🍻
I have a decant of modern Jubi25 and after half an hour i find it somehow sweet idkn ..Its okay.. but its not a love 😕 Never smelt vintage or 40
Never smelled the modern juice...but I wouldnt be surprised if its been reformulated
I will still be getting Royal Tobacco, Black Iris & Jubi XXV
All full bottle worthy IMHO ... thanks for watching & commenting 🍻

@@RamseytheRam Don't let the bedbugs bite. Sleep tuberose tight. ☾
I’m a lover of churchy incense what has more incense jubilation 25 or epic man?
Probably epic man
Excellent Review (per the usual with you). I love ALL the Jubilations. I do understand your comments, and agree with your position. That said, I find beauty in both that work at different times and needs. Hope your Sunday is a restful one. Cheers! 🎉🎉🎉🎉😊

As someone who’s never owned a bottle of jubilation. What would be the better option, new formulation or J25 or J40?
I haven't smelled new Jubi XXV...but I would probably take the OG DNA over the new 40
@@RamseytheRam thanks for the help Ram👏🏼 are older batches ones that do not have the jubi writing on the front?
Galaxolide is the cheap material that is overdosed in J25. I think it's around 60%. It's a clean, fluffy musk material with long longevity. I don't mind the high dose. Galaxolide smells great :)
Thats it! Thanks so much for sharing! 🍻
When you review them, I suggest you do it live so we can call you an ambulance when you have a stroke from the rage after smelling Vanilla Barka. ;)
😂😂😂
Just the name... Vanilla Barka 😠
No I wouldn't say it has the freshness

ok ok i have been hunting a white snap cap jubilation but it sounds like you dont think there is THAT much of a difference. how much of a difference do you notice in performance between white cap and magnetic? I have a mag cap batch that is 1 year older than yours for reference.
The snap cap definitely last longer by hours and it is a little bit deeper and richer....but I wouldn't pay big $ for a deep vintage

Thank you I agree 100% take big money out of fragrances art , but we know that impossible 😅
Well there are lots of smaller brands to support like Papillon for example or Areej Le Dore
It's just the mega brands have their own guiding principle and it feels like that guiding principles is "Green"
Absolute travesty IMHO
I’m not too fond of the overwhelming opening of the honey note on the J25, but I prefer the J40 over the 25. I got lucky, though; I scored a full bottle of J40 for 195$ (yes, the authenticity checked out; I checked with multiple sources before I pulled the trigger).
Nice thats a hell of a discount for a brand new fragrance that just came out...congrats
Thats probably about whats its worth..no more
My bottle of XXV looks pretty much like yours, but it didn't take me 8 -10 years to go through that much.
Thanks for watching & sharing your thoughts Greg 💪🐏
@@RamseytheRam Keep on keepin' on.
No thanks. Not even Bertrand Duchaufour can duplicate JXV. To be honest I wasn't expecting him to.
Right?! I would love to hear his thoughts on the project
Beautiful comment & very well said

Gotta go to the store and sniff it soon. Though it was never my favourite Amouage.
On Epic 56 I would strongly disagree, it smells a lot more different from regular Epic than it seems at first. I despise Epic 56, it's harsh, unpolished and headache inducing, while Epic EDP is a masterpiece. F* fishguy
I see what you mean about 56, it's a little off balance in the first few hours before settling. The original was a perfect progression even if it doesn't last as long, although I think all day is plenty, I don't need to smell it while i'm asleep.
I liked the EDP better too

Appreciate you being here with us Andrei 🤜🤛🏻
I was so underwhelmed by JB40. It seems like they elevated random notes, in the way dupes do because they can’t replicate everything. Also, I found its release unexpectedly low key. It came out when the anniversary year was almost over, following vague rumors, rather than a solid marketing campaign. Maybe they were trying to get the mix right, idk. Edit: I made my comment about dupes before I heard you mention clones on the video. I think we may be on to something here.
It does have a clone or dupe feel 2 it... we are onto something for sure lol
They could've made an Arabic coffee scent or fruity shisha fragrance or any number of other Arabic inspired things but the creative director seems like a fool who probably thinks based on what has been released under his tenure that marketing BS and higher prices are how to sell luxury products.
Not a fan of the direction of the house.. in case you couldnt tell from the review 😂😂😂
This is indeed very sad, my hope was, that Amouage at least won’t touch the old classics - as it is the company of the royal family of Oman. But I was wrong I guess…
Some of the positive reviewers got their Jubilation 40 free and sent from Amouage. So this smells kind of biased then…
Well I guess that's what happens when you get a free 500 dollar bottle and want the gravy train to continue... nothing is sacred anymore
The current "creative" director has zero creativity and ruined Amouage. There's nothing in the mainstream/synthetic world that's better than Creed Royal Oud or Jubi XXV.
ZERO creativity for sure... Amouage needs to put their pride to the side & rehire Chong IMHO
I absolutely agree with both of you!
@@RamseytheRammr chong is now with thameen london and hes doing well with it
I knew about him being at Thameen but I have never smelled any of their work before or after him... I tried to reach out to get samples for the channel but Chong pointed me to the brand and they ignored me lol
@@RamseytheRam should try fanfare my man, one of the best creation of Mr Chong
I read there's rumours about L'Oreal buying Amouage. Seems like the end has come.
Yup if it's true I think we can just about put a nail in their coffin ⚰️
@@RamseytheRam One the topic of the video, can I ask you of you'd still reccomend the newer batch of Jubilation XXV, instead of Jubilation 40? Or any Amouage you deem worth buying as of now, for that matter... Cause, about that news, I'm running to buy Amouage fragrances until I can 😂.
@@boybillythebutcher4575 I have no clue about newer batches of Jubi XXV sorry ... go older if u can
Salty ambergris!
Unfortunately I don't have an older bottle just rhe regular now of days xxv I did have a decant from a friend straight from his bottle it was diferent but not by much more heavy volatile at the same time lasted like 2 hours longer but never was an screaming scent the blueberry was more noticeable and the overall fell ofvthe fragance was just right but not much different like it's an diferent scent
The new 40 has the ump was missing in the xxv yes a bit sweeter but just a bit it is also black currant for sure more ambergris and definitely more oud but not crazy much
To me I like it just as much as the xxv and I think more because it last longer rhe opening in xxv is magical
In the 40 you get almost the same airy expanding jubilation xxv after an hour
In the xxv after an hour or less is skin scent like it so is in the older version the drydonw last longer in the vintage fr sure
But the thing I like it The most about the 40 is that I get many aspects of the vintage and like double opening the first spray opening still has the expansion of the xxv but more heavy in the ambergris and oud and fruits a bit just abit less fragrance like but I get the same experience of expansion an hour later for at least 2 hours at least 5 spray of the 40 will fill a room easily and to me is the same royal like effect like in the xxv whit 5 spray of the xxv the opening it's beautiful for 10 minutes
But it never fills a room like the 40 tge best part ofvthe 40 is I get tge opening of the xxv for hours I don't get that from the xxv I never experienced that
Maybe it's an skin difference stuff
But my goodness the 40 it's intoxicating xxv for hours to me
Not only a beautiful skin scent after a beautiful opening like the xxv
Tge 40 when they get to skin scent stays there for hours also
One thing I definitely noticed
Is the 40 when you smell it very close your skin it's sweet
But in the air it's not sweet at all that is also a thing I definitely enjoy for being a high concentration oils it's very very airy and definitely smells way better in the bubble than close to your nose in the skin
I'm very very happy whit this one specially because I personally don't have to pay $1000 for a vintage in my opinion I get the best of both worlds in these presentation
One thing I also noticed waring the fragance for several days and you would definitely get amazed by diferent aspects of tge scent
If you only ware 2 or 3 days
Or only in your hands forget it that is tge worse thing you can do about 40
I myself made that mistake for several days just ware in one spot of my hand and I honestly was also very desapoimented
I'm putting this comment up because I do also have many years of experience and I did taste thousands of fragrances
As soon I started waring the 40 the way it supposed things started to have many different colors
To the point I can't not put away this presentation
So this opinion of me about my experience whit the jubilation extrait 40
It's the reason and the only reason I shared whit any one who wanted to read it
Because I honestly want you to know that my experience whit tge scent
Wish I ware it 18 times it's
Just short to fantastic
I can't be happier whit the scent please also understand the scent being of higher concentration can not be too expanding like the xxv but some how it does for hours the same royal felling fir hours an hours
Friend of my has share he used 9 sprays and he also says the bubble the silliage is enormous for hours
A very famous u tuber I remember he didn't talk very well about the fragrance as soon it come out then around 6 months later I saw him taking completely diferent about tge scent so in my opinion
I think this one is one those scents who like it to be enjoyed at his fullest whole body experience
Just my experience
This is a great detailed comment... thank you for taking the time to write it up 🙏🙏🙏
@@RamseytheRam as usual by the RAM another great detailed review I didn't expect less!
Thank you for your kind words
Yes it is hard and frustrating to see what is going on in amuage
From the latest of them under the fish men it has lost a lot the great appeal it used to have
Even the paquege has suffer not attention to detail for how expensive they are
Cookie cutting presentation to most of them
The few I like it from them are for me royal tabaco silver oud jubilation xxv and the extrait version which it was almost a desapoiment in the beginning because testing it in one spot it's a dull muffed heavy much but
Fortunately the fragrance comes alive in a full waring minimum 5 to 6 sprays it was a game changing I do have a lot's of diferent scents I know you can get very good impressions testing in a strip or skin like in the hands but some fragrances they really need a full waring and in diferent days and diferent environment jubilation 40 is one of those in my experience even when you smell it to close it's not that pleasant the scent needs space diferent body temperatures and movement help the heavy oils inmediatle
And the fragrance open up beautifully almost airy I have similar experience whit some ouds of bortnikoff and some scents of serge lutens and jovoy
To naming few
Hopefully amouage pay more atencion to they loyal fun base not only the new candy sweet fragrances of the new generation
Thank you
Thanks for watching 💪🐏
Omgggg gonna watch the shit out of this!!!!
😂😂😂
Appreciate you watching man
I just picked up Jubilation 25 recently and it's incredibly weak.
The newer version?! Ugh 😒
Agreed, there is hits and misses, stick with the the original
The OG is King 👑
take this with a grain of salt, but I was told, by someone who visited their factory in December 2023, they receive most of the ingredients from France. Even the bottles are made in Europe :D
I wouldnt be surprised
What about new batches jubilation xxv i Heard performance suck
I heard the same thing 🤷🏻♂️
Is there any house today still worth discovering? With something extraordinary? Haven't been for a while on your channel. Man, your channel has grown a lot:-) sorry for the divorce if I got it right, keep your head up bro
Yes i think so, i talk a lot about off the wall brands on the channel 🙂
totally agree... unfortunatelly, Amouage is loosing herself.... what a pity
Absolutely...already lost unfortunately & regrettably
I actually love the changes they’ve made to jubilation 40. I think the fact that they made it feel the same, but overall darker throughout the life of the wear just feels more mature to me.
Thanks for sharing 🙂
Maybe my nose is just broken, but I don’t see J40 as sweeter at all.
@@Legend_Face if you havent done a side by side comparison you may not pick up on it
J40 IMHO great release
Thanks for watching & sharing your thoughts 🙏
I enjoy OG more

Jubilation 40 is not $500 good, it isn’t beast mode and pretty close to the regular one, so maybe $200 good. I have both, 40 is more to fill the hole in the collection.
Well said .... 100 to 150 is what I would pay for it
True, Ramsey, not more than a regular heavily discounted Amouage bottle is its worth.
Whatever that means, doesn’t sound like properly done creation to me😂
Wow that is fooching hillarious 😂😂😂

I do what I want
Give the wife Jubee 40, keep XXV. Sounds fair
😂😂😂
Ex wifey trippler and If I had a bottle of Jubi 40 that would be the plan

By the way smelled it a couple of weeks ago, unimpressed. Smells like generic Middle Eastern frag, too many of them on the market.
But to be fair I do not like Jub 25 either. I just don't like the smell of galaxolide. It triggers a salivation 🤤, which I know... is gross to say, but that's how I feel about galaxolide 🤔
😂😂😂
Very interesting information... so you have a Pavlovs dog reaction to Galoxolide or what?! 🤤
I know... 😂 not in a pleasant way though. You know when you're in a sketchy situation and your creep radar goes off and your mouth gets watery? What's galaxolide to me 😂
🤣🤣🤣
...The brand is being desecrated ffs🤦
That is a great word for it.... thanks for watching 😊
