Awesome...Thanks for this video. I just got my first banana plants and learning everything I can. I love a video that gets to the point. Most other gardening channels would have done a 15 minute history of the banana and how to sharpen a knife to cut the plant.

Don’t throw away the banana blossoms. Peel off the old hard part . Inside you will find that tender part. You can stir fry, stew, or add to salad.
There is very little to no difference on the time to ripen the bananas between keeping the pod on or cutting it… after researching… i found that most say there is no difference and a few say there is a tiny difference in size but not a difference in time it takes to ripen if you keep the pod on or cut it.
I am keeping mine on because I like watching it! You can cook the flower so I recommend using it in a dish..

Interesting. I watched a whole documentary on Dole and how they do it and they cut the flower off and bag the bunch. Would’ve though they knew what they were doing. They said it speeds it up

My bunch broke while it's still young and under ripen. Can i plant the stem into the ground to continue its growth so it doesn't go to waste?
This was very helpful; Thank you! I’m not having much luck with a successful bloom and I think it’s cause I’m not doing this. Right now I have a nice bloom but it appears to be halted and the stems are turning purple but there’s a lot more flowers left and we’ve only got about 5 Bunches of bananas out of it. What do you think I should do and what does the purple stems mean?
I'm not sure. I have not heard of this before. What climate are you in? Sometimes they will not ripen if it is too cold.
I only got 3 rows of banana and the bottom row are shriveling and dropping off.

Dying to see you pick these things. How long does it take like how many months once you see bananas on your tree to ripen to pick and eat???
These did not ripen last year, winter hit right before they were ready to pick. I do have another one that is about to fruit in next few weeks, so I will hopefully have them ripen this year!

What can be done to prevent so many bananas from being thrown away?
In a tropical environment, you could keep more on and they’ll all fill out. For me, that’s just not possible otherwise I’ll lose the whole bunch. Even more waste that way

That can not be double mahoi because cavendish group bananas white male flowers not red most likely a variety in AAB genome group.
These flowers are white, the red you are seeing is just where they dried up and started browning
Eventualy cut the flower the rest is too much
