Margrete Kjeldsberg Daniel Thrasher is a famous court minstrel. His instrument of choice was the harpsichord, until he summoned a frickin’ demon with it.
That feeling when the bard plays this song and you are the 16 year old king of East Francia and your kingdom is being torn apart by merciless heathen raiders and no matter what you do you just can't beat them and protect your lands and your people. Your army was defeated and you barely escaped with your life. Meanwhile all your efforts are being hampered by the nobles and priests who have been taking over your court and who have controlled your every action since you were put on the throne as a small child. And as if ravaging heathen hordes weren't doing enough yet to destroy the kingdom, your bickering nobles are doing their very best to tear it apart even further, fighting each other as the kingdom burns down around them. And just so you know that fate really has it out for you, you are also cursed with a sickly disposition, suffering from frequent bouts of serious illness. You already know you will probably die young. Everyone seems to believe the kingdom is doomed and without saving. They are already calling you the last Carolingian king of East Francia and you are not even dead yet. Not that it really matters, to the nobles of the realm you might as well be dead. All they do is ignore you anyways as they keep jostling and fighting over who gets to seize power once you finally kick the bucket. You know that the proud Carolingian lineage that created this kingdom long ago will die with you. You are a disappointment to all of your illustrious ancestors. You have been lonely and powerless ever since you were crowned as a 6 year old boy. You have no friends, you never had the opportunity to play with other kids. All of the time you didn't spend sick in bed was spent sitting on the throne watching your noble regents ruin your kingdom. Loneliness and sickness have been your only constant companions. Next year, chroniclers will write that you died "in a state of severe deression", probably because they had the courtesy to not write that you offed yourself. History will just remember you as Louis the Child, last of the Carolingians. Over a thousand years later, two guys will name a music group after you.
My three favourite types of music are, medieval folk, fairy tail/Jack Stainer, and songs I ironically listen to and then end up loving. You have combined two of these. Thank you.
These are brilliant mate. My inner nerd is gonna come out to say that we've learned something. Medieval music could be a real slapper. Shit. We imagine ancient people as primitive, but mentally, they were the same as us. I know this song was written in the eighties or whatever, but it just goes to show that ancient peoples had the capability to make perfectly good tunes.
This is just an adaption of a modern style song with medieval instruments, so I'm gonna be Mr Obvious and say that medieval music sounded nothing like this. However, if you listen to actual medieval/renaissance/baroque music you'll find that it was _actually_ good!! Hundreds of years have passed and the music of those ancient musicians can still make us feel great, so yeah, they were undeniably brilliant Edit: as an example, this guy composed in the 1600s a tune that was so catchy that it's still used today as the official intro of the Eurovision song contest ua-cam.com/video/iwU37osOkQA/v-deo.html

Modern Music of the Dark Ages YOU DESERVE IT! THIS IS A MSTERPEICE!
Such a great music that brings me back to 1200’s when we raided the great steppe with horde
I was vibing so hard off this, my Dad was impressed.
UA-cam recommends the weirdest crap to me but this...
I welcome.
And the song welcomes you in return

Same here, but this is one great recommendation. I happily ended up going down the BardCore rabbit hole.
When the apothecary prescribes silver pellets for thine ills.
I love how it turns into a castlevania stae theme halfway through and then goes back to being beautiful
Awesome, unironically probably the more enjoyable rendition of the song I've heard to far
When thou art in need of a tune to feast and celebrate over, but thou also art in infatuation with the color blue
It's 2020 and I'm welcoming this medieval trend.
King William III: I will grant thee knighthood for thy rebirth of thus music.
"I has't a blue home with a blue looking glass."
Only found this genre of Medieval music the other day... been hooked
Same. Can't stop.
You gotta listening to House Of The Rising Sun 1270 Old French.
Zharoff thanks for the recommendation 👍🏻
I found this whole Bardcore genre by chance when looking for medieval stuff for my flat!
Thanks for these, I will most definitely be shuffling these into the DnD playlist
Lendeth thy ear to a tale of a small fellow who lived in a world of blue
"Thou shall cast a melody uppon my thirsting ears, for I am in need of a good rythm to cleanse my agony"

I listen to all these mideival covers of these songs and wonder what it would be like to time travel and play these in that time period
Me too
I love the little medieval art the covers come with!! So funny!
This honestly feels like something that'd play in an old medieval RPG or strategy game.

My three favourite types of music are, medieval folk, fairy tail/Jack Stainer, and songs I ironically listen to and then end up loving. You have combined two of these. Thank you.
@@WoogleWimpy yeah! Auto correct, ack
Hundreds of years have passed and the music of those ancient musicians can still make us feel great, so yeah, they were undeniably brilliant
Edit: as an example, this guy composed in the 1600s a tune that was so catchy that it's still used today as the official intro of the Eurovision song contest
ua-cam.com/video/iwU37osOkQA/v-deo.html
The song is from the late 90's blue by Eiffel 65
I mean due to malnutrition their mental and physical capacity was stunted
I feel so strange, so good when listening this crazy composition
When you are dying of hypothermia after working in the fields to get crops for your lord
The main repeating chorus sounds sooo great I want it solo honestly lol
Yes, the other part just destroys the song
