i figure your being a little harsh, a medium howitzer is a relatively cheap option to take that can perform a wide vatiery of roles (a jack of all trades arty) it can be a nice counter batter or direct fire weapon, against all but the toughest infantry your turning them to mush and your template size can easily encompass most if not all of a squad. even if it lacks the pen of the AT guns it can still threaten enemy armor with a large amount of pins. it's smoke shell is also quite large and finally, it can be moved without tow, as larger calibre guns require a tow for any kind of movement.
I agree I just find medium arty to vaporize much quicker when I’m direct LoS. I don’t think it’s a bad inclusion at just 75 points but I do find it harder to make its points back than light arty from my experience. Unless it’s on a tank of course.
Moreover in contrary to selfpropelled howitzer it leaves tank slot free. When placed in cover combined with armor shield it can soak pretty high amount of dice - especially when crew is properly dispersed. In most situations i found towed artillery pieces more survivable then their selfprolled versions because vehicles are much more susceptible to single hit knock-outs(killing all crewmen with single hit is generally way harder and cannot be obtained with majority of weapons at all - however still exceptionall damage is a risk). In some situation there is also possibility of recrewing abandoned guns. I do love some howitzer armed vehicles like Stuh 42 for example but in comparison to ordinary medium howitzer it is much more valuable target (costs about 2,5 times more), so i think that ordinary artillery pieces can be very good options too.
french free art goes brrrrr

I feel like if you were going to take a medium howitzer your better of taking a multiple luncher.
As a person who owns a lot of 3D printed buildings, being able to direct fire against units indoors is a major advantage.
I think medium 3" HE could do 1d3+1 pins instead of just d3, what do you reckon?
Agreed.
Hmm.
So Finnish BT-42 will be effective bunker buster, just like it was discovered to be in continuation war…
