Hey everyone! The name "Weekend Glow" was inspired by those lazy weekend mornings, basking in warm sunshine, feeling relaxed and happy. Hope you enjoy the tutorial! ✨
I learned to knit watching Nimble Needles. He's a fantastic instructor. I crocheted for decades and couldn't quite grasp knitting. Once I tried following his continental style I picked it up right away.
Ah, you're a Nimble Needles fan too 😊! His videos are a goldmine, especially for those just starting out. I'm so happy Normans' videos helped you bridge the gap between crochet and knitting. He's definitely a fantastic teacher!
Hello, I am really glad that I have found your channel. Just love your creations. You explain your patterns so well that, I it were not for choosing the correct sizing, I wouldn’t need to look at the patterns. My name is Cristina❤, I am blind and just love knitting. Congratulations for your creations! So marvelous sweaters, just love them! God bless thank you very much for sharing
Cristina, I'm so touched by your kind words! It's wonderful to hear that my tutorials are helpful to you. Your ability to knit without sight is truly inspiring. Thank you for sharing your story 🧡
@@Juliapiro thank you very much for your reply. I really love your tutorials. I will knit those sweaters, yes I will! Y ourdesigns are all wonderful, always with lovely details. Can stylish and elegant we stay in touch?
Thank you! I'm so glad you like the pattern. I really tried to keep it simple and elegant, while also making it an effortless knit. That way, you can focus on enjoying the process and creating a sweater you'll love to wear.😊
Thank you! 😊 Yes, you can definitely double the neckline. Just knit double the number of rounds, and for a neat fold, I like to add one additional purl round in the middle. Let me know how it turns out!
Thank you for your kind words! You can definitely cast on more stitches to create a more open neckline. In the set-up round (round 0) all sizes add stitches before starting the yoke. Feel free to cast on any number of stitches for the neck, but make sure it’s not more than the total you’ll need at the end of round 0. Happy knitting! 😊
Oh my goodness!! This sweater is so beautiful! So excited to make this seater with you. You are so easy to follow and as a beginner, it's so helpful for me.❤
Thank you for your kind words! The Weekend Glow sweater is perfect for adventurous beginners, and I'm here to support you every step of the way through your knitting journey.❤
I am so thankful I found this!! Just purchased on Ravelry !! It’s a classic beautiful sweater!! ❤. Can’t wait to make!! Thank you for the Vidio to help understand the pattern!😊
Thank you so much! I designed this pattern for adventurous beginners who are ready to take on something a little more challenging, just like you seem to be! The tutorial breaks everything down into easy-to-follow steps. Don't hesitate to ask any questions along the way.😊
Stunning design. Just purchased the pattern, and, as a beginner knitter, it looks very fun and easy to follow (the checklist is very much appreciated). Can't wait to start!
Thank you for your wonderful pattern and also tutorial to go with . Thank you for all your efforts . I would love to knit this but I have so many woman’s sweater on my needles that I am ashamed to cast another one 🤭. Do you think we can knit this pattern for a male ?? I guess I should knit something for my hubby too! Thanks again
Thank you for your kind words! It means a lot to hear you love the pattern and tutorial. Yes, there's always more to knit than time allows! 🤗 The Weekend Glow sweater is designed for a women's fit with a compound raglan shaping for a flattering bodice. While adapting the whole pattern for men might require more adjustments, we can try modifying the raglan shaping for a straighter look. This could create a more relaxed silhouette suitable for men.
Thanks for your thoughtful instructions. I'd like to knit this sweater with an additional mohair thread. I'll have to use larger needles. Is it possible to adjust your pattern to my different needle size?
Thank you for your kind words! Adding a mohair thread will create a beautiful texture. Since it usually increases the yarn weight by one category, I recommend pairing it with DK or Sport weight yarn (around 125-150 meters per 50 grams). Just make sure to swatch first to ensure you get the right gauge.
Спасибо! Смотрю Вас ,потому что вы хорошо обьясняете, у вас прекрасный вкус в одежде и вы вяжите классически правильно. На английском это будет classic style or classic school.Thenk you
Very nice sweater and great tutorial! I have never used Drops Lima. How do you find it in terms of wear comfort and durability of the yarn after some washes? Thanks!
Thank you so much for your kind words 😊! Drops Lima is one of my favorite yarns - it’s blended with alpaca, which gives it a light fluff and makes it much less itchy than 100% wool. I also really love Drops Nepal and Drops Alpaca for the same reasons. For me, these yarns strike the perfect balance of quality, natural composition, and price. They hold up well after washes, too!
Gorgeous sweater, and it looks so lovely on you! Thank you so much for your detailed tutorials, so easy to follow🤗 I hope you can help me, I have a question about the M1L and M1R stitch. I am a left handed knitter so I knit from my right needle to my left. My question is: when working a pattern that asks me to work an M1L should I be working the M1R instead and visa versa? Thank you in advance ❤
Thank you so much for the lovely compliment about the sweater! For left-handed knitters, things can sometimes look reversed! When a pattern says M1L, you'll actually want to work the M1R to create a left-leaning increase that matches standard construction. Also a K2tog becomes an SSK. There are great tutorials online for left-handed M1R, M1L increases specifically - searching for 'left-handed M1R, M1L' should give you some visual demos! Happy knitting!
Hi there. I purchased one of your patterns already. The sequoia cardigan. I love it! I was wanting to knit something for my husband and see the mellow sweater you’ve created. It’s lovely. However, I prefer the look of the the weekend glow pattern. Is this a pattern I could make for a man? Would it look ok? He’s not much larger than your partner. Also, I’m a fairly new knitter and love your tutorials…… it s so helpful while learning.
Hi there! Thanks for purchasing the Sequoia Cardigan pattern. I'm so glad you love it! The Weekend Glow pattern is definitely unisex and would look great on a man. There are a couple of men's versions on Ravelry that you can check out for inspiration: www.ravelry.com/projects/Geni0211/weekend-glow-sweater www.ravelry.com/projects/Indus67/weekend-glow-sweater I'm also working on a tutorial for another unisex drop shoulder sweater, which I'll be publishing within a month.
Drops Air is a blown yarn with a different texture and gauge, but you can definitely give it a try! I suggest starting with a swatch using both 4.5 mm and 5 mm needles. If your gauge is close, you should be good to go. You might also consider going a size down for the sweater. But Drops Air can be a bit unpredictable! 🤗
Great pattern Thankyou for sharing your talent with us knitters who do want to get better! I am in Australia the wool thickness confuses me. Is this an 8 ply or 10 ply for this project? Thankyou in advanced for any answers ❤
Thank you so much for kind words! I used Drops Lima: Yarn Group: 8 ply, Weight/length: 50 g = approx 100 m, Recommended needle size: 4 mm, Knitting tension: 10 x 10 cm = 21 sts x 28 rows.
It would be a bit tricky and would require a separate pattern, but if you’re an experienced knitter, you can definitely give it a try with straight needles! 😊
