I’ve been wanting to make a yoke style sweater and I’m also a beginner. I’ve only done one raglan. I just purchased this pattern on Etsy and can’t wait to watch the video and start the sweater. It’s beautiful!
I’m so glad that you’re taking on your first yoke sweater! Having already knit a raglan, you’re more ready than you think. Just follow the pattern and video step-by-step, and remember - I’m here if you have any questions 😊 . Thanks so much for choosing my pattern, and enjoy every stitch!
Excellent tutorial. I'm looking for a pattern/tutorial for my 2nd sweater and I would love to follow along with this type of sweater with color works as my first attempt at color work knitting. I also appreciated the mellow and low volume background music. Can't think of one thing that could be improved. Well done and I'm looking forward to more content!
Thank you for your kind words! I’m so glad you noticed the small touches, like the music 😊 Wishing you the best of luck with your colorwork journey - I’m sure your sweater will turn out beautifully!

That sounds like a great idea! The increases in this sweater happen throughout the entire yoke and are quite close to each other. To add a cable, you’d need to clear up the front section by rearranging the increases and placing them differently than written in the pattern. If you’ve knitted a circular yoke sweater before, you might find it easier to make these adjustments. Good luck, and I’d love to see how it turns out! 😊

I love a yoke style sweater. I find the front of sweater fits and looks great, but the back has so much extra ease! Is there a way to reduce that extra fabric in the back on a yoke sweater???
Thank you for your comment! 😊 The First Star sweater has 3-10 cm (1-4 inches) of positive ease, so it’s already on the fitted side. If you'd like to reduce the extra fabric in the back, you can try going a size down and, during the dividing step, allocate more stitches to the front and fewer to the back. This adjustment can help create a more tailored fit.
