the laughing scene in "the lodge" is genuinely proof that sometimes if you break the rules of "good pacing" you can make magic XD its painful how it drags on, but thats why it works
It works because even though he laughing the entire time, the laugh takes on a more and more desperate tone, so it's not really the same thing from the start of the laugh to the end of it.
Another one of my favorite Robert moments is from A Trial To Watch *accidentally swallows the mini file* "I'll have you know I always thoroughly digest every case file I receive!"
I love the scene in harper's locket where it rains on him and he says 'please excuse me for having more tears in my eyes than I anticipated' and 'no thank you I have plenty'
@@awildnoviceappears Dennis is absolutely amazing, but a purposely bad actor needs wacky competent ones to set the bar. Dennis on his own can't carry the show.
just realized that A Trial to Watch is not just called that bc the play they're performing has a trial and "ooh watch out for the results of that trial!" but also... it is trialing to watch them put on a legal drama

HAHAHAHHA.....AHAHAHAHAHAHAAAAA

The way it goes from an awkward drawn out laugh to screams of pure rage gets me everytime
apparently the gun breaking wasn't actually meant to happen, he just went with it, but no wonder he's slightly panicked
@@bugbear2357 you can also see Jonathan Sayer trying not to laugh in the background because of that
I cannot believe "medically fascinating" was not in here. It kills me every time
I love the scene in harper's locket where it rains on him and he says 'please excuse me for having more tears in my eyes than I anticipated' and 'no thank you I have plenty'
And of course we can't forget his entire acting master class from season 2
HELLO! That was acting. Hello. That was not acting.
"That's the rule of Chekhov's Gun: have a gun" is still one of my favorite single lines in the show
I'll BE THE OLD LONELY MANAGER
We need a room
A BROOM?!
No a room
OH A ROOM! SEA VIEW?
My sister and I quote "now with diagrams" way to much
The way he says it is so good
Robert and Max carry this show. Not that the other actors are inferior, but these 2 characters are on another level.
I'd throw in Chris too. Since without him as the straight man, the others wouldn't shine so ridiculously well.
@@DyslecticAttack Yeah. Robert and Max wind him up immensely. GREAT!
And who can forget Dennis? Him and Vanessa make for a great dynamic

the laugh that would never end trying to leave the stage. i was in tears.
Oh when I was a young trumpeter
Hey-o, hey-o
Non-Speaking!
Easily my favourite character in the show.
just realized that A Trial to Watch is not just called that bc the play they're performing has a trial and "ooh watch out for the results of that trial!" but also... it is trialing to watch them put on a legal drama
I'M THE RELEVANT TRUMPETER
NON-SPEAKING!
"...do you request a mistrial?"
"I request a mistrial!"
"Request denied!"
NEVER LET YOURSELF BE MASKED!!!
I WON’T ROBERT 😭✨🌟
his screams are too much. XD
2:35 is one of my favorite lines in the whole series!!! The deadpan!🤣
Fun fact, the gun wasn’t supposed to break
Medically fascinating
Stay emotionally safe
And children from *checks notes* the local areaaaaaa
I would like to commend you on quite possibly the funniest UA-cam thumbnail that I have ever seen
lmao thank you so much!
“....halo.”
“Hello.” And so on.
I need a clip of him panic laughing around the lodge
Can't believe we don't have 'I have to go, it appears I don't exist' and the Wine Gums incident here
I love him so much omg
Do Chris once said next !! I love this video
I am the relevant trumpeter disguised
No the bathroom wizard scene from the lodge was not in here I love that bit
Chekhov's gun.
JESUS! No, he isn't born yet. Although, that brings me neatly on to my next point.
