The downhill on Prospect is an absolute blast. It feels much faster and adrenaline pumping than the video shows...
what a great video! love the maps and displays. Heading up to Telluride in a couple weeks and will make this trail a priority, looks like a blast.
It’s fun!
If you're going to ride Prospect, please go in the same direction as this rider. Don't be A-holes! If I slam into you headfirst, don't expect an apology. It may be permissible, hypothetically, to ride the trail backwards, but it's not good etiquette. It's an amazing trail in this clockwise direction. Best XC trail I've ever biked, and I've done it many, many times. Keep the trail safe: ride clockwise. PLEASE! At 12:20 he jumps onto Double Cabins and returns to Mtn Village. Prospect is longer and connects to Magic Meadows and Alta Lakes. Magic Meadows is beautiful too, but it dumps you out onto Highway 145 near the Sunshine Campground. Continue from there to T35 which is steep downhill with big roots and very tight singletrack. This T35 requires very good full suspension. It pops out on Illium Road. It's a dirt road that can eventually connect to the Galloping Goose trail that climbs up along the river back to the Conoco and valley floor.
beautiful ride. i like the sound of a free gondola.
It rained most days while I was there and it was the greenest and most lush forest I’d seen in Colorado for a quite a while.
@@Roaming50 i went there a few weeks ago to ride for a day and it rained out as soon as i got my lift ticket. lol. maybe next time.
Nice one mate... Trail looks sweet but... so SMOOOOOOTTHHHH... Trail Fairies working over-time there... :D
That’s guys. Actually the top of the trail is pretty rough. Quite a few roots and 6+ inch holes that make the 10 mph up there seem so much faster. 😆 But yes it’s a nice dirt change from some of the typical rocks.
how fun!!
It is indeed!
I'm headed to telluride tomorrow, hopefully the trails are open!
Colorado south west is pretty dry at the moment. You should be good to go. Have fun!
@@Roaming50 thanks! I road Fruita today, tough trails! Looking forward to tomorrow.
@@i2ambler2002 I was just there myself!
@@Roaming50 Nice! What trails did you ride?
Let’s see: Kessel Run, PBR, Joe’s Ridge, Mojoe, Zippity Do Da, Zippity, Western Zippity, Frontside, Chuttes and Ladders, Down Uppity, Vegitarian, and Prime Cut more times than I can remember.
when did Telluride start charging for bikes? That sucks man!
That started last year. Supposedly they are investing the money into more blue and green trails to try to entice newcomers to the sport.
When they spent tons of money to make their trails world class. Plus, the amount of energy it takes to carry people up the mountain on a daily basis costs tons of money. You would literally die without the lift service. Out of towners just don't appreciate the altitude until it literally crushes your chest and gives you a panic attack. This rider cut out the short climb that can crush even the fittest locals. Don't be fooled by all the flowy downhill. Prospect has some climbs. Take it in segments.
Gondola open every day. Might be there mid September ?
