this sweet girl does the best equipment reviews, her explanations are always clear and i love how she shows all the little details. Wish she did all the reviews on this channel :) Is the main pack 60L or is it 60Litres with the daypack included?
I bought this pack a few months ago and it is by far the best possible option out there for female travelers, I highly recommend it. For people who are asking about if this pack is the right size for them, I wouldn't recommend anything smaller than a 50 L pack depending on how long your trips are, I typically go away for a few weeks at a time and find this pack ( 60 L + 10 ) perfect. It has a tall back but there are more compact styles of the same pack available. I am 5'5 and plus sized and this pack is perfect, but my friend who is 5'10 and slim tried it on and it fits her as well.
This is a women's specific pack and the torso adjusts from 14" -20". The pack should fit well as long as your torso length is between 14" and 20". Thanks for watching!
Is there any major differences between the quantum and the "deuter traveller"? Looking at purchasing this backpack but the latter is ~$20 different and more than willing to pay that if the benefits are there.
I understand that SL is a Female-Specific pack and wondering if Short Male (167cm or < 5'7") with wide shoulder use this too? Since the standard 70 + 10 Quantum is a bit too huge for my height.
Most likely, those wide shoulders are going to be a difficult fit in any SL (stands for SlimLine) Deuter pack. We recommend doing a torso measurement to find a pack that is more accurately fitted to your frame. Here's how: www.backcountryedge.com/videos/how-to-measure-your-torso-for-backpack-fitting
Hi Elisheba, There are some grab handles at the top and bottom of the pack, which make it easier to get it in and out of a trunk or car seat, but the Quantum does not have dedicated side handles for hand carry. You could grab it by the compression straps, but that might not be comfortable for carrying through an airport or bus station. Although it travels better than most backpacks, its still designed to be carried by your torso. If you're referring to whether this fits as a carry-on bag for airline travel, its probably too big, but the included day pack would be fine as a carry-on. Thanks for watching!
I'm 5ft7 and living in OZ now. I went to the local store to check this 60 L backpack. It's really big and tall. I think for 5ft6 or 7 women this 60L is big enough.
This is the best video about the Deuter Quantum 60+10 SL backpack. Thank you so much, I just decided that's the one I'm buying :)
Found your video as we are researching travel backpacks for our trip to Europe. Best video and review we've seen! Many thanks!!
Thanks Melissa, and have a great trip!

Thanks for your comment! The pack is about 60 liters without the removable daypack.

Thanks for the helpful video. I'm going away on a 4 month trip to NZ and OZ. Do you think this pack will be big enough? I'm a 5ft 6 female

I'm 5ft tall female, will this pack be too big for me?
Hi is this backpack lockable?
Good question! This pack is not lockable
can this be taken as carry on?
+HaileyMorganful The full Quantum is far too large to be used as a carry-on item but the removable day pack certainly can be.
