Thank you for showing the method of folding clothing into either individually, or even better yet as a pair, so things become even more to the point when choosing an “outfit”.. I will utilize this method from now on. The ease of picking an outfit out ahead of time is relieving especially when you’re on a trip is low level genius.
This is amazing! I've been rolling my clothes for a long time now, but I never thought about tucking the ends into themselves like that. I'm going to do this for an upcoming overseas trip.
I like how I was trying to find a video exactly like this to pack for my trip tomarrow, and I discovered this after I packed everything 😭😭😭 at least I know how make even more room for souvenirs when I come back. THANKS!!
as for a belt, i usually sort of align it along the edges of the suitcase after ive packed it. that way the belt doesnt fold too much and it doesnt take up any space.
Ah the ol Ranger Roll. We folded everything like this when packing for field exercises in the Army. When you need to get a lot of gear into a small space, this is the way to do it.
Aaah, the Ranger Roll method. Perfect for when the Drill Sergeant massacres your wall locker!! Pro tip: roll as tightly as possible. Once it’s all rolled up, throw it against the wall or floor. If done right, the clothing will stay rolled up.
I use this method all the time , for few years now. Even had my shirts folded like this in the closet for a while. Towels are all like this . No , it does not stretch the fabric and no , clothing won't be extra wrinkly with this folding method unless you don't straighten your shirts out before folding , but it's the same with every method. Great Video 😉 sent this one to my niece so she can learn how I do it , so I won't need to explain 😁
Okay i packed my bags efficiently. Just need a passport and money to travel. Edit: I have a passport and money now but this pandemic came along and I'm stranded. Again. P. S. Thanks for all the likes you crazy humans. I hope you all stay hydrated and safe.
Great stuff. Similar to what I used to do in the military. Sock underwear and t-shirt in a roll inside an air relieved "zip lock" bag (poor person vacuum bag). Dirty sets were rolled with the socks on the outside. The sock "bump" made it easy to distinguish between clean and dirty in the dark. The bags kept everything dry, and smells contained.
Why do people dislike these videos? Either you like or you don't. I am going to Poland from Denmark the day after tomorrow with my school and this is really helping. Thanks.

Luv the video, well done! Got right to the point and no narrative needed. You should teach video production to others, as some people love to hear themselves talk way too much and just drag it out too long! Brilliant!
The only question is the weight because they always want to charge extra if its over a certian amount, and with this method i'm sure to go over 😅 more room more stuff 😂
Awesome! Going to Europe for 21 days next spring. Now I can pack for 7 days and do laundry twice. Will be able to get everything in one 22 inch carryon, including my laptop, toiletries and an extra pair of shoes.
Very cool tutorial. Only concern is that doing these methods will decrease all the elastic waist bands much more quickly as apposed to just wearing your clothes out normally over time.
Yes. I admire the presentation and the rationalised sequence of folding of different commonly used apparels. The tucking of the ends to secure and compact the apparels is a very good innovative idea with similar sequence is superb. The rolling imparts a smooth finish avoiding wrinkles. Professiinal presentation worth practising. My appreciations ❤ - RangaN May 03 2023
This type of packing is for those who travel with baggages for long stay when every cubic inch matters and the compactness is the focus. When you travel on a short tour with a few clothes, you can steam iron them and organise them neatly. The purpose determines the priority
VERY HELPFUL AND INSPIRING IN OUR DAILY LIVES... AND HAVE MORE KNOWLEDGE ABOUT THAT MINIMIZE AND SAVE SPACING ....THUMBS UP!!!! KEEP IT UP!!! GOD BLESS!!!
Jane Doe that was my concern too as I watched this and personally I feel that if you have to wash your CLEAN clothes when you get there to get them back into the right shape then it's hardly worth it is it? Also altho packing items as outfits might seem efficient - you shouldn't really pack outfits - much better to have everything mix&match. I think Sarah Murdoch (Rick Steve's guide) does a better job; I've watched a LOT of packing videos and she's STILL the guru imo. But I might try the jeans technique sometime (don't mind this for non-stretch items)
I meant if you do this repeatedly then it’s possible that you may need to wash an item to tighten it back up. I’ve never had this happen after one fold. If you’re doing it repeatedly then it means your also wearing it a lot and will be washing it anyway so it’s never an issue
I might be able to go to England this fall I hate wearing jeans and pants so will be wearing dresses with leggings or tights. How would be the best way to roll up the dresses.
Well if the dress does not flare out at the bottom then just like in the video at 02:00. However, if it does flare out at the bottom, I'm pretty sure if you first fold the sides of the dress over until you have parallel lines or a rectangular shape like the dress in the video you'll then be able to just follow the rest of the instructions at 02:00. I've never actually tried this but I can't see why it would not work. Hope this helps :)
IMO, adding a single sheet of tissue paper aids in keeping the wrinkles away, and I think that would be just the thing if you're going to be rolling up dresses that need to look fresh. Also, as I said above, spraying most fabrics with plain tap water and tugging out the wrinkles (while the item is on a hanger) is a great method for wrinkles.

At Walmart 2 hrs ago I asked my friend what are those lockers? She said for order pickups. Now I see a recommended video for Walmart delivery pick/up. Coincidence? I think not. 😕
How do you avoid everything getting all "wrinkly"? I've used some of these methods before but have found that pants and especially shirts get very wrinkled. I use the method for boxer shorts, socks, and undershirts since it doesn't matter if they get wrinkled.
Agree - I tried it, but my clothes ended up extremely wrinkled no matter how much I smoothed them out or how tighly I rolled them. Making "bundles" sounds practical unless you want to wear these trousers but with a different t-shirt... The only time it would work for me is on the way back when it doesn't matter. But then it doesn't matter if everything is stuffed in, either 😏 This method certainly doesn't work for dresses or floppy wide pants. They don't show those - and for a good reason.
For most lightweight t's and shirts, an empty spray bottle can easily be packed inside the carry-on. Fill it with tap water and spray the shirt you'll need to wear while it's on a hanger. Tug out the wrinkles after it's sprayed, and it will be good-as-new. If you need it before it's dry, use a blow dryer to finish off. No need for that Downy spray. Water works just as well.

But then it doesn't matter if everything is stuffed in, either 😏
This method certainly doesn't work for dresses or floppy wide pants. They don't show those - and for a good reason.
Surely this is cool but do these methods leave the clothes wrinkled?
Most clothes will need to be ironed after this yes, just the same as pretty much all other methods of packing
Arlene L now, why didn't I think of that?! Here I've been all this time lugging my travel iron around ☺
i mean most hotels and cruises do give you an iron for use during your stay
If you need to iron anyway why just not to buy cheap compression bags from the nearest outdoor store and pack/unpack 3x faster?
Thanks for the tips. It works for my really casual tees and jeans. But my nice clothes always come out wrinkled no matter how careful I am.
