  • Relaxing sound video of an oil rig in the arctic ocean. These white noise ambient sounds are generated by water, wind and snow falling and If you listen close enough you can hear the sound of water freezing over. This is combined with relaxing low frequencies and delta waves from the oil platform. The sounds are steady and solid an there are no high-pitched notes in this soundscape video. The sounds of this oil platform are a bit creepy but for many people very relaxing and I get a lot of messages that they can sleep very well with this video.
The sound of this oil rig is very relaxing but I also know that an real oil rig is not good for nature!!
◼ All my soundscape videos are made in high quality with editing programs such as Vegas Pro, Photoshop and Audacity, and take many hours / days of editing and mixing to create. The equipment I use to record the audio are the Zoom H5 or H6 recorder + Audio-Technica BP4025 microphone, and for the videos I use the GoPro Hero6. Some video and audio files are made in collaboration with other video / audio creators with all the licenses & commercial use rights that are necessary. I mixed these video or audio files with the creation of myself. Sometimes I use a photo and make a moving video of it.
See this photo as an example: pixabay.com/nl/photos/sneeuw-...

A great background scene which I thank you for and truly appreciate. Living and working on such installations in the UK North Sea makes me proud to have contributed to the advanced state of the world today. Meantime, all those decrying your excellent video should immediately cast off not only their Smartphones, Tablets, Computers and all of the rest, whilst *not* forgetting to throw away their footwear such as modern Trainers etc., all of which rely on oil by-products. When they do that, I will listen to and then perhaps consider their comments.

We use oil for many things, yes. However, not only does its extraction cause environmental devastation and humanitarian conflict, but it is a limited resource. We will run out, and if we don't develop alternatives, that'll hit hard. Already we're making cars that run electric or hydrogen, and synthesizing polymers out of plants. For the future, for sustainability, we need to develop alternatives.
In addition we, the consumers, have little choice but to use oil, but that doesn't mean we can't speak out against it. And as for the idea of "virtue signalling"-- nothing says more about the moral degradation of the West than the fact that trying to support the right thing is now seen as selfish.

(This is for anyone who's played Rust, you'll know what I'm talking about)
As the moon shone down on the Earth, I watched as the Oil Rig's lights lit the otherwise pitch black of night. Just days before, I had heard gunshots coming from the Rig. AK gunshots. It was most likely another failed raid. In the 2 years since the gang and I have been here, the Rig has never fallen completely. Many of the gangs had said that there was loot to be had there, and that all they needed was to get a man on the Rig to clear the Helipad.
As the icy wind blew against my face, I noticed how calm everything was. not unusual. Most of the gangs in the area had agreed to not wage war with each other during Winter. While the peace could be tease at times, there had been no significant battles in over a year now. I can only hope that the peace holds. There is no profit in killing each other. I only wish the other gangs would see that.
As I check the surroundings, I decide to turn in for the night. Our base is fortified enough that any assault would wake everyone. As I lay down in my bed, as the fire crackles and the smell of wood smoke fills my nose, i drift off to sleep, hoping that tomorrow is kind enough to let us hunt for breakfast in the morning
