Will Webflow Memberships Change The No-Code Game?

- Today we are going to discuss whether we should be using Webflow Memberships to build our membership sites in 2023!
Webflow has become one of the home bases of the No-Code movement over the past few years. Their incredibly versatile platform usually serves as the backbone of many a No-Code project across the web. As they've grown into this role, Webflow has begun to look for ways to continue serving its customers and providing them with the most value possible.
Through this lens, we are now introduced to Webflow Memberships, one of Webflow's main projects on their mission to bring the most useful no-code tools in-house. With Webflow Memberships, we will be able to build our membership sites inside of Webflow without having to step outside of our beautiful Webflow home base and use 3rd party tools.
However, Webflow Memberships is still in Beta so there are a few different factors we need to consider when making our decision! In this video, I will break down the pros and cons of Webflow Memberships and give you my recommendation on the tool to use going forward in 2023. Let's get right into it!
I have been using Webflow to build my websites for years. If you are a novice website developer looking to launch a new project or business (and don't know how to code), your best bet is using Webflow. With Webflow, you code visually, and have complete control over your website down to the pixel. No more having to go through style sheets or JSON files in Wordpress in order to customize your site to your needs. With Webflow, you are able to visually code your website from scratch. Thanks for this great video! I use Webflow and love the idea of using a native memberships solution, but I found it hard to setup for my site (My accounts are teams and not single users). The idea of cloning an existing membership template never occurred to me! It would be a huge timesaver.

btw MemberStack: "data-ms-content = members" and "data-ms-content = !members" for item visibility settings for visitors in non-specific members groups and visitors that are not logged in. There are many options to set visibility for different types of memberships, membership groups tho
Hey, this video is awesome. Do you know if it’s possible to have public profiles for every user? Same as your dashboard where users can customize their name, mail, bio and so on just with pictures and social media?

an another issue I met :
In my website I have products with subscriptions, I successfully connect stripe with webflow and it works with some tests. I couldn’t use juste webflow because 3d secure doesn’t work and webflow is trying to fix it.
My problem is with the section “subscriptions” in webflow : it’s not updated when a subscription is done and ok in stripe. I tried “zapier” and “make” but it seems it’s not managed yet by these platforms.
So I think I will use memberstack.
Another great video and yeah, I smashed the subscribe button. One question, what is the process like adding memberships to an existing webflow build? I get that the templates are ready to go, but i'm tying to work out whether I should commit to Webflow Membership or go with something not in beta (like Memberstack). If the setup process is going to be similar, and you can't "undo" memberships once you've activated it, what would you suggest?
Generally, I'd go Memberstack in the short-term and Webflow Memberships long-term (once bugs are worked out). If you have a site ready to roll and you are ready to launch, you can't go wrong with Memberstack, especially if you're fine getting through a trickier set-up. It works great and it's awesome, so you can't go wrong going Memberstack in the near term! Thanks for the sub!

I have many issues with the native membership. For example: you cannot build a custom user account, it's so damn limited.

Is there a way to create uniqe member dashboards, similarly to what you did in your Memberstack video, where each user can access "My profile" page and see info that is relevant just for him? Or is it that all people who log in can see all the same content only?

1) Is it possible to achieve something like that using just Webflow Memberships (so - without Memberstack & Zapier)?
2) Can it be done safely? What I mean is that, with method from your Memberstack 2.0 video, anyone can access anyone else's dashboard freely, they just need a link and it is all open. But is it possible to create secure unique member dashboards, that can be accessed only by that specific member, using his personal login credentials?

As of June 2023,memberships in webflow is not ready for prime time yet. Definitely not ready yet. You can't really use any of that account data yet.
