Great idea for seat but try spraying the fabric with silicone waterproofing spray . i have to put it on my bimini top on my pontoon every couple of months it works great. There are several brands to choose from you probably have different brands in florida but You should try one. I hope it works out. I just love watching your videos. Your definitely living my future life but have to retire first in a day to day grind for now,but keep up on your videos, I always feel like i'm right there with you with use of your GO-pro cameras great for us ,probably lot of work for you.
Original video, great editing!!I’m still scratching my head what raised chair to use, instead of that old flat and low honor chair. I even took apart your fancy camping chair for the purpose, didn’t fit and ended up in the garbage.
I have a couple different fishing kayaks and I’ve rigged up some pretty nice seats. On my vibe yellowfin 100 I took the seat out and long story short I use two cushion and a 2 by 12 and just lay the 2 by 12 on the cushions as to not ding your kayak up and it works Gr8. On my two person kayak I use bean bags and they work freakin great ! Comfy, conforms, and is perfect that I can lay back for a few and stretch my back out if need be
I like seeing videos about the Pelican strike 120. I have the same Kayak and was looking into swapping the seat out, I’m not sure i have a chair like that though
The only problem is those office chairs are ridiculously expensive! Worse than that, the last one I bought had a thin sheet of plastic as the base with cardboard in between. In a few months I was sitting on the pedestal because the rest folded over from normal use. Needless to say, it ended up in a landfill some where! A good, strong office chair would cost more than a stadium seat. Or even fancy boat seat.
Cool re-purposing. Might try to replace the foam in the seat with some closed-cell foam, so as not to soak-up water. If/when the orginal foam gets wet it'll be like sitting on a wet sponge.
