How to Blend Thick Mushroom Liquid Culture | Clogged Syringe Solution
Вставка
- Опубліковано 15 жов 2023
- Sometimes we forget to stir our mushroom liquid culture and thick mycelium will start taking over and that makes it very difficult (impossible) to suck up into syringes. Using a sterilized Oster blender blade which fits on a regular mouth jar can break up that mycelium and allow it to be made into syringes. I hope this method can help you save a jar that has developed the thick mycelium.

Hello! Great video. I just had one question. If i do a new lc jar from a lc syringe, the "new" lc ages? Can i do this infinite times? I know g2g doesnt work past 3 or 4 generations. Thanks! Sry for my english.
You can expand quite a bit before noticing anything but eventually it will start to degrade in performance. I have done it a lot and barely see a decline.
@@SporenSprout Many thanks!
Could you transfer an inner piece of a mushroom to LC solution, mix in the blender and have it grow out?
Yes
have a question. Should i stir LC for 24/7 to get maximize growth or stir like once a day for a few mins? I hear mix results but wondering what ya thoughts are on stirring times?
I just stir every other day at the start and once the mycelium is established I stir for a few minutes once per week or so. It depends on what culture recipe you use too because I found that LME and peptone can make the mycelium too thick or it tries to grow on the surface and that’s why I made this video but with honey it never becomes a problem of thickness so stirring is less of a concern.
Couldn't you just put a coffee filter in a funnel and strain the chunks out?
No because that wouldn’t be sterile. We want to shred the chunks into fine mycelium and still use it.
