    Very interesting video. Thanks for sharing the experience. Almost impossible to find a car like that nowadays, at any price. I would assume that others had inquired about buying the car over the years. Your friend must have caught the guy at the right time to have been able to buy it. The way I look at it is, it was just meant for him to have it. Congratulations on now owning what I consider to be the holy grail of Corvette’s.

    the 67 C2 corvette is one of my favorites. I have always wanted one. they are they are insanely priced right now, and i don't see it going down any time soon. FYI starting in 1967, the factory glued a copy of the build sheet to the top of the gas tank. so the tank sticker will tell you everything you need to know about the car.

      @@RyanSampsonRPhi am a pharmacist too.....is any other documentation such as the protecto plate included? I'm curious as to what the tank sticker says? Does the trim tag say 976 for marina blue?

    Nice find - and the best color combo offered that year in my opinion.
    Have you checked to see if it still has the build sheet on top of the fuel tank? It should be visible by pulling down the rubber seal around the fuel fill opening, on the drivers side of the tank - they are frequently still in place after all these years. The tachometer redline and 60Lb oil pressure gauge indicate that the car could have been equipped with either the L79, L36, or L68 engines. The half shafts and rear sway bar would be other indicators of whether or not it was equipped with a big block or is a small block with a big block hood installed.
    Looking forward to the next video on this project.

    What a score (depending on price ofcourse) but 67 is my favorite year and my dream car. I have owned a 1970 LT1 Corvette and a 71 LS5 Corvette. Both of them were this same color blue as this car. Although the guy I bought the 70 from, had it repainted red. But it was originally Lucerne blue. It's nice he got that really nice L88 hood. Too bad he didn't get the side pipe exhaust as well. And I think the 1st thing to do is get rid of those white walls. Maybe go with some red line tires. But I love the car. Thanks for sharing the video with us.

    It looks as thou you have a non original block with no CCV from the rear port to the oil fill tube, and the rad is for a BB. You need to change that rad and shroud so you don't have over heating issues. The fan should be 50% inside of the shroud. Also the vacuum advance can is incorrect and possibly the dizzy itself. The passenger exhaust manifold is incorrect, it for a earlier engine for the choke heat tube hole. All SB had an overflow tank above the battery and it was plumbed into the cooking system.The hood is a GM over the counter part. They were made by North American Rockwell for GM. Knowing the car was damaged in the front driver side, the hood had to be replaced with the current one. Maybe all this info is late to you, but necessary. How do I know all this, I have 50 years experience with C-2 Vettes.

    Incredible find, your friend is one lucky dog. Not only was marina blue/blue guts one of the most desirable colors, ‘67 was the most refined C-2. If he hasn’t already I would highly suggest he carefully drop the tank and see if the tank sticker survived,that is the ultimate prominence of documentation. Likely the block isn’t original, ignition shielding missing, carb incorrect etc. Did you check the casting numbers on the block? I had to cringe when the fuel tank wasn’t drained, easy process, done many. Not hating, just envious, lol. Congratulations to your friend, thanks for taking us along Ryan. They’re still out there!

    • @RyanSampsonRPh
      @RyanSampsonRPh  Рік тому +1

      We took a look in the tank and saw it looked decent. Definitely a risk though. You are right, engine block is not from a 67, matched up to be a 69 block. I am jealous of this one as well lol. Hope you have been well!

    Is it not more likely that a previous owner just put the Big Block hood on the small block vehicle?
    It does look like it’s been repainted in lacquer many years ago!

    It may just be a good thing that it isn't all original. It's a tragedy to take an all original car then restomod it. I inherited a 63 that my parents bought (also in 1976). My dad thought it wasn't the original engine so I had some grand ideas that drastically changed when I noticed that the numbers matched. Even without the mods, they're fun to drive. They're also attention getters but only attract men.

    Chevrolet would be brilliant to bring this body style back with modern guts. Would outsell that Lamborghini looking poor excuse for a corvette they are making now. Tell me it’s a super car all you want it’s not a corvette. C6 was the last corvette
