I use the snapon 14.4 line of impacts and ratchets all day every day I’m not easy with them. They have been good to me since 2015. I have the 1/4” and two 3/8’s I had to have the older version rebuilt once.

If the Milwaukee had a rocker switch, it wouldn't even be up for debate. But Milwaukee has a lot more options than just this one. The stubby packs 250 ft/lbs. And yes, it really does put out that much. I will say, that Milwaukee, in this age of inflated marketing hype, doesn't bullshit when it comes to specs.

Having had both, by no means am I a “Snap-on fanboy”, I’d have to say I like the snap on better. Both have pro and cons, while using the Snap-on all day everyday it just feels more solid and has a tad more power along with the awesome rocker style switch, I have had to get it rebuild twice within a year for the trigger. Also it is kind of dated still being brushed. Milwaukee’s price is on point along with the warranty but I have had problems with the batteries cracking, but by no means am I gentle on my tools, they get covered in oil and coolant and don’t get cleaned very often. But both solid tools.

Milwaukee all the way! If you were to buy the fuel stubby one at the same price as the snap on, snap on will be dusted! Milwaukee has a line of tools compatible, so kudos to Wilwaukee! Personally I am a Makita fan, as they make chainsaws and other tools you can think of, DA, grinders, sawsall, circular saw etc. for their line.Milwaukee for raw power, greater use of tools with Makita.
I know this is strictly about snap on vs Milwaukee, but with no real world comparison, even a lug nut torqued comparison, I cannot say the snap on will be better

Oh yeah this is the 4th time it's been rebuilt in only 2 years. I'm rather upset about this. The biggest thing I think you missed in this video is warranty snap on only caryes a 1 year "repair" warranty. Milwaukee caries a 5 year "full replacement" warranty. Hope this helps out.

I've been an auto technician for over 22 years now both the Milwaukee and snapon impacts have been in every shop I've worked in. Honestly I think both are good I own the snapon along with hood light, ratchet and drill I have seen a Milwaukee electric ratchet catch on fire but guys I work with own Milwaukee and love them the only problem I have had with the snapon is 1 of the 4 batteries I own went bad really fast. You have to smack the battery to get it to work and half the time the charger flashes red. Also two other Technicians I work with have had a battery fail and behave the exact same way with their snapon's . But overall the Milwaukee is cheaper in price but the snapon you can give to your tool guy have it fixed under warranty for free to me it's easier. if there is a problem and it's only about 100 bucks out of warranty and if it's broken too bad they give you a new one for the repair price but that doesn't happen too often that I've seen.

Mechanic by trade. See my snap on guy every Monday. My work and side job shop I use all snap on 14.4V tools and some larger 18V stuff. At home in my woodworking shop it's all M12 stuff. Also have the whole HF 20v Bauer set. They all work great. I've been buying snap on tools for 23 years. I have 2 drawers In my tripple bay too box full of snap on electronic tools. Very seldom i use air tools only 1/2 impact and air hammer are mainly used. I own every 14.4 v snap on tools doubles of them at my side job shop. Just what Im used to. But I love my M12 stuff at home too. Owned and still use the first gen M12's just bought the whole fuel M12 line. Work awesome. They all work great. Want bang for your buck try the Bauer line or Hercules line at Harbor freight I laughed after I bought 70% of the Bauer line for what I paid for that same 14.4 3/8 impact you have in the video. Different tools for differs kinds of people, home “pro” gamers and professionals, I work line maintenance I don’t buy cheap tools because I need them to eat so I try to only cry once and buy once. Yes the Milwaukee dollar for dollar is better but the components and overall quality is always better on the snap on tools. You get what you pay for, a $100 Milwaukee drill has cheap nylon Planetary housings and carriers, snap on tends to use steel housings and bearings while Milwaukee uses bushings. If you’re a professional who uses tools daily get the snap on, if not get the Milwaukee. Quality tools are usually never in big box stores. That goes with a lot of tools .

Then my dad got the lithium 18v line and it's all junk, I do like the cordless grinder though. Bought the ct761 6 or 7 years ago. For an auto tech, I think the snap on beats this specific Milwaukee in ergonomics, mainly the rocker switch. 1 handed operation is guaranteed in most situations with the snap on, when you may need 2 to make adjustments (flip the switch) on the Milwaukee. Ct761 still goes strong. One day when it dies, I may consider something else.

I'm in the process of switching over to the m12 system simply because the cost of replacement battery and adding on tools is so high.... Snap on wants 80 for a new battery and milwaukee I can get 2 4.0 batterys for that price.

  • @jasonhull2163
    @jasonhull2163 3 роки тому

The only thing Snap on has going for it is they are technically better made tools while their anvil housings are thicker and they made with no powder pressed gear boxes. You are paying for long life but the Snap ons lack flateline torque. Milwaukee and Makita put out more torque. The Snap on will last longer but the torque they have don’t make up for the quality of the tool. I have a NIcad 1/2 impact wrench I bought 12 years ago along with its 14.4 Nicad 3/8 impact new. I have had batteries rebuilt 3 times and the guns still work as where other brands I’ve owned didn’t last as long. I think Milwaukee makes incredible cordless impacts and they are well made. Snap on is the best quality they just don’t have the torque most competitors have. In real case scenarios the Snap on will have the torque you need for the most part and I always torque bolts to spec.

I have both(the new stubby one) love the milwaukee but it's weak as hell and doesn't have as many blows per a min. Take it as you will. Snap on gets a lot more hate cause people hate that theh cannot afford them. My only cons of the snap on is no 4.0 or 5.0 batteries. And just an led for the fuel gage. The grip is tackier wit the snap on and the trigger is 1000x better and actually a very high quality brand trigger with a heatsink on it. Where the milwaukee does not. Also the warranty with milwaukee, you have to mail it in and that sucks. I rather just go to the snappy guy and take care of it. The snap on is way lighter and easier to control. The milwaukee is top heavy and cumbersome to get into small areas. Also the anvil rings suck. On all my milwaukee tools the anvil ring falls off ALL of the time. Snap on if theirs falls off. The snap on guy will always replace it with a brand new one

just listen to them. the SNAP-ON sounds so much more CRISP!!! I have one, and I don't regret paying more for it. Also have the magnetic battery caps so i can hang it anywhere. Milwaukee does make some fantastic products tho!!

I have been a snap on cordless fan for a really long time. When I joined the heavy truck industry, Makita and snap on where the only ones with a 3/8 impact gun. Over the years snap on cordless tools have definitely improved. However Milwaukee has stepped up to the plate and in my opinion smoked snap on. There tools are far more affordable. You can buy there almost anywhere. And what really blows my mind is the insanely wide range of tools that they offer. I have Milwaukee tools at home. But soon will be putting them on my service truck.
Anyone want to buy some snap on cordless tools?

billy to me it’s the confidence of the snap on guy coming to My job. I don’t have to run out and do anything just wait on the snap on truck. If they break before it’s his day he makes a special trip. In hand they both are great but the fact the snap on guy comes right to my job site it means a whole heck of a lot to me. I don’t wanna send my Milwaukee back and wait I don’t wanna have to run to Lowe’s to and talk to someone who knows shit about it. As quality in hand they are both right on par together but snap on has benefits for mechanics mil don’t. I enjoy them both.

I sold all my snap on battery operated tools. I'm running the full m18 and m12 Milwaukee line up. Ithink for the money you can't beat the power you get from Milwaukee. Snap on 18 volt is junk 14.4 is bad as but again for the money Milwaukee is where it's at. Yeah I miss the 14.4 trigger but I'm over it. I personally wouldn't buy the first Gen m12 fuel impacts I'd personally buy the 2nd Gen stubby I own both gens and hands down the m12 fuel stubby 3/8 Milwaukee is my go too for everything

For round one you should have used the similar Milwaukee battery. They make a battery identical to the Snap On which would have made them equally balanced. Snap On can't touch Milwaukee and on top of that they're overpriced. The new 3/8" Milwaukee stubby with 250 ft/lbs will destroy this Snap On. It's twice the power, half the size and half the price! lol

It makes me wonder how well some people treat their tools. Mine see some very heavy use as a marine tech, hell even using my ct761 to remove lug nuts, mount engines, you name it. Never once have to have that tool serviced. As a REAL mechanic and not a UA-cam mechanic, you wouldnt believe how many times having to pull your hand back to change the drive direction would slow you down or piss you off.

@@JayFlatOut I'm talking about people knocking snap ons reliability. I'm not talking about you at all, you had no comments on reliability. But all these people saying they've had their 3/8 impact serviced 2-3 times in a couple years, that's insane. People must abuse their fucking tools.

If you mentioned the M12 stubby in reference to this video then you are completely clueless!! Both of these tools are essentially equal in specs so why would he compare the Snap On to the M12 stubby when the stubby is rated at 130ft lbs more? That literally would make no sense.

I got the big boy m18 too and then I picked up the M12 stubby 1/2" with the 6.0 battery. The stubby gets used 98% of the time now. The 2767 is too big and unweildly most of the time.
