He does play quite well doesn't he? And Ive always loved how slow and elegant he slings his quitar over his shoulder and walks so confident and humble to the Mike.♥️♥️😘 Brings a smile to my face and a warm fuzzy to my heart still to this day ♥️
Shonna May Yes I agree, Robin’s the ultimate rock & roller. I’ve seen CT over 25 times live, and along with his incredible vocal range, he’s always had a great front man presence!!!!!!!!!
I met Robin behind the Newport in Columbus Ohio. Surprisingly down to earth. Approachable and not the least bit impressed with himself. A guy walked up to him and bummed a cigarette and called him Todd Howarth. Robin didn't miss a beat! Nice guy.
That's a great experience. I'm from their hometown of Rockford, know and interacted with all of them many times over the years. As a musician myself, I have known and played with both of Rick's sons, Miles & Dax onstage in a few occasions. All I can say is, they are the most humble real as you get, authentic rock and rollers you'll ever meet! They act just the same on tour, as they do in our hometown as regular citizens. Great guys all of them & their kids.
I'm 61 yrs old, and CT has been my favorite all time group for past 40 years! Yet every time I watch these types of videos, I am always completely astounded by how accomplished all 4 of them are at their craft. Rick Nielsen, has to be one of the greatest lead guitarist of all time. Tom Petersson is by far the greatest 12 string (or any other type) of Bass guitarist to walk this earth, Robin Zander has a vocal range un matched, as well as IMO the greatest Rock vocalist ever, and Bun E, is absolutely phenomenal on the drums, and maybe the most under rated musician of all time,, no one can carry the beat and be the backbone of the sound as good as Bun E!
I share your attitude... but lets be real, they are a mark in time. They had to write and record a Ballad to gain #1 success (they are not alone). Rock on Garth I say. I absolutely despise cuck rock - and everything from this band in the first few albums simply rocked so good. Tom Peterson is an innovator. He basically told Hamer guitars to build what he wanted... and it was awesome. Now you have a bassist that is also a rhythm guitarist. Rick he was simply solid. Unique for sure, but nothing over the top to be honest. He was perfect IMO. Robin was the dude. He stepped up and delivered. Professional. Bun E Carlos... perfect rock drummer IMO he never overplayed and always on point. I love this band.
I'm as cheap trick as one can find. It takes me back to 1977 when Cheap Trick opened for Journey at the San Diego Sports Arena, I went nuts, then steve Perry walked on stage, I went to heaven and back. I met Carlos in a parking lot and said rock and roll baby, he said thank you. Hey you, let's do it again. We can you know.
I still have their first album as well as some the others such as Heaven Tonight, At Budokan, Dream Police, Next Position Please and so on.I love Cheap Trick.
'Played this vinyl incessantly when it came out way back when - it still rocks pretty hard - what a unique band, in terms of style & sound - all these years later, I don't believe I've heard anyone else before or since that's quite like them
Epic throttled this band. Seriously. The original Budokan album was seriously anemic, compared to the Complete Concert album. We missed out on all those other gems for years! Cheap Trick deserved a better label.
The first time I heard this song was during a Steel Beach picnic during a 2008 Mediterranean Cruise while I was in the Navy. I think one of the engineers put it on. I never knew the name of the song until it popped up recently on a community radio station.
Just a little trivia: Japanese Cultural History... 1978: Cheap Trick introduces "ELO Kiddies" to Japan 1975: Sanrio introduces "Hello Kitty" to Japan. Would you rather have Hello Kitty or Cheap Trick on YOUR lunchbox? My answer is: "Yes".
They played a USO show on the KITTY HAWK in 84 along with some other great groups. It was a great show. Especially since I am from Illinois. KANSAS was awesome also.💯👍👍⚓⚓🇺🇲🇺🇲
Imagine IF it was possible to of had this Japanese concert special telecast in the States back in 1978? We went nuts for the Live at Budokan Album….the visuals from that filmed event would made the band even more successful.
That's because Epic Records first put out a ten-track album...seriously anemic compared to "Budokan: The Complete Concert". Epic held this band back hideously.
I think I am band from the group take care my 4 and dont be weird- oh yeah that is what makes us real well sometimes at band camp I say my daughters names too and say granted Jen Steph Andrea Jessica and My sweet Michelle and I say I know they got a few and I say right oh cheerio and yes I have to eat some thank you but please dont tell me about the deaf the blind and the dumb and trust me I know we all gotta go and did I saw I went and said dont like upside down phones but they helped me too and I said please and thank you the staff and Drs and oh when I pretend well back in the 70s that it I what yesh I am and dont drink what well one glass or wine or beer and say oh thank you friendship wisconsin and dont forget Mwah on the cheek that it!

Bun just killing it.
Robin’s one of the best rock vocalists, and a very underrated guitar player!!!!!!!!!!!
He does play quite well doesn't he?

Yes! Listen to him on Ricks solo
Bun E pounding out the intro, spot on
Bun E was the heartbeat of Cheap Trick...very sadly it ended badly, but what a legacy.
So good
@@underock4 Bun E was definitely THE perfect timekeeper for CT. Definitely.
The en3rgy is out of this world 😮

Steve Perry did not join Journey until late 1977.
@@deathmetaldouglas69 Thank you, my bad, I have corrected it.
Bunn-E is on fire😅
I still have their first album as well as some the others such as Heaven Tonight, At Budokan, Dream Police, Next Position Please and so on.I love Cheap Trick.
Love it so much when Robin is growling.

Ladies & Gentleman, BUN E CARLOS

CHEAP TRICK is 1 of those awesome rock bands that’s a bit under appreciated. They are awesome in their own right.

What a brilliant band seriously underated
Surtout en France, je ne connaissais même pas, il y a seulement 1 an mais j adore 😍🤘

Classic Cheap Trick...showcases how tight the band were. Still cherish my plectrum, from Hammersmith Odeon gig '79. Think we were row 4 !
Such a great song, Hail Cheap Trick
Hail!

In today's money Rick has about 5 million dollars worth of guitars standing in front of his amps.
He owns hundreds of them now.
Best album
Budokan is them turf❣️
リック 弾けてる
ロビンの声 最高!
トムとバーニーが画面に映らないのが物足りない
いやあ すごいバンドだよな
もうすぐ会える♥♥♥♥
Saw this live….
Bun e Carlos family was instrumental in building the Panama canal
He also was the father of the Dos Equis Guy...stay informed, my friends.
That album was a huge part of the soundtrack of my teen years, but I don't remember this song...like, at all.
That's because Epic Records first put out a ten-track album...seriously anemic compared to "Budokan: The Complete Concert". Epic held this band back hideously.
a reference to the electric light orchestra?
Either that or just "'ello". Nobody knows.
Sounds like Oasis on the chorus. This is where Liam got his vocal style from then.
Haaaaaaaaaamerrrrrrr!
cheap trick rules
Better Better Better hurry! 51
So, you missed some school??!! 😱
They say that school is for fools. Well...college is, anyway.
