I bought a used Xmaxx a few months ago…glad I got it cheap because she was worse than I thought…needed a new esc (which I knew about) so I replaced the esc/motor combo with a castle system…..after that EVERYTHING gear wise started breaking….monkey metal gears is no lie….i think I’m finally at a point where she’s reliable .. Get GPM or Vitavon gears …
Used is the best way to go in RC really. I bought my used 8s Xmaxx not long ago, replaced bearings and rebuilt diffs, and she RIPS! Such a fun truck. Have fun!!!!
Also, if you plan to get bigger lipos, grab yourself the extended battery mounts from Hot Racing. They are absolutely awesome if you want to run bigger than stock lipos. You will also need some 600mm nylon straps to hold those batteries in. Other than that, maybe get some RPM rear and front hubs. Those mods (minus front hubs) have made mine bullet proof!

You can put wd40 on it and it will protect and make it more durable.

worst? what do you mean? it actually ran for a few minutes without eating its own gears even with all those hard lunches
