Bar 4 honda lawn mowers which I think are great I have a large Stihl lawn mower which is brill in the wet. All the rest of my equipment is now Stihl and they are a mixture of battery and petrol. I personally think you have to go with one make when using battery equipment, you don't want loads of different makes of batteries.Ezpensive yes but you get what you pay for.
    All the best.

Thanks for the comments. I'm still looking around for the new mower, make/model etc. I have invested in some new tools with the initial profit from the business as got a great deal on some Stihl battery gear. I really need to use any future profit or potential redundancy money on a van. It's a big hit, but only way i can move things forward. Presently losing out on business that is outside of my trolley pulling capabilities. Good luck for the new year.

Good video, nothing wrong with stihl equipment it's served us well for years, we use HLA 86 long reach hedge cutters.

It's good gear my friend. Apart from the issues with the cheap second-hand trimmer I bought, it's been faultless so far. I have the added incentive of having a local Stihl dealership who's staff are unbelievably helpful, so that's another plus in my book. Thanks for commenting.

I started off with, and still use cobra for my strimmer and hedge cutter. Reason being, costs around 350 for both, trade in after two years and get the same again. (So really it costs me around 100 quid a year to have those tools brand new every other year after being traded in.) Stihl costs around 3 times as much and does last longer but this way, I'm getting brand new machines every 2 years

Thanks so much for the nice comment. Lot of work coming in, so looks like I'll be getting plenty of practice.

I recently purchased the long reach stihl battery trimmer, was a bit unsure as very expensive, and using other battery equipment, wasn't too impressed. Started out with a makita line strimmer, always needed loads of spare batteries to get through a whole days work. The stihl long reach was great investment, I still have regular stihl petrol hedge trimmer, more as a back up now.

I know what you're saying. I loved the ease of the battery hedge trimmer but I do worry about having enough batteries and being able to afford them. I've just had a "heads up" today from another local gardener giving up and wanting to sell all his gear, it's all petrol but in good condition and practically giving it away. Still can't justify ot though.

Cheers Matt, you guys always get better weather than up here. Everyone thinks I'm mad being up here and not back down in the Shire.

Good luck, I worry about the fact that you show the whole world you keep tools in your garage, I say this because I am very careful with my equipment but still the piky scum have just wiped me of about £6000 worth.

I totally get where you're coming from Owen and also sympathise with you for having all your gear nicked. The garage is pretty secure and also alarmed. However, having stuff stolen over the years from vans, lockups and even high security retail premises. I am now very much of the opinion, if they want it, they'll get it. I just make it as awkward as possible and have good insurance. Sad state of affairs I'm afraid.
