Every now and then you have to add something to the soup just to keep things interesting. It could be the latest gee-gaw or a really great addition to the shooting sports. Time will tell.
The only thing I'm liking thus far about this .21 sharps is that I can pull the bullet, and do my own powder chargers and get better consistency for accuracy. I weighed my sk .22 red match bullets and the average but weighed 51.5 grains, but varied ± .5 grains. With the bullet being 40 grains itself, and however much the brass is, that is a very large inconsistency in my opinion. Also, the best factory ammo does about 2-3 MOA out my m16, but the does 1-1.5 moa with just about my reloads as long as the powder charge is within .1 grains of powder. So if accurate and tuned powder charges does half the size of the best factory ammo in my m16, why not our my .22? Also, the reason I am going this far is because I do these .22 matches and I'm still trying to find a way to not use .22lr, but something I can measure my own powder charges.
Great stuff, thanks for your videos! One recommendation. Given the speeds and bullet weights of the 21 Sharp, it would have been a better powder weight comparison to the CCI Velocitor or the Stingers. An update on that would be appreciated.
They cant even produce ammo for the 17wsm, there last "new" RF cartage .. currently there is no 21 sharp ammo available.. there is lots of firearm's made for the new round but no ammo yet ? yet another Winchester failure
Been awhile since I've seen one of your vids. But so far, I'm not to impressed with the accuracy of this round, from what limited vids I've seen on You Tube so far. Hoping you can shed some light on it, as for accuracy. Thx for the vid Nido
Because this has been done before and we don't want just another version of the same thing. Why not a BIGGER rimfire round!? That we don't have. There has been ten 17-22 cal rimfires. Nothing larger in decades if not a century. It's a waste to have another yet again round. Do something that justifies folks spending hard earned money not another copy. 17hm2, 17hmr, 17wsm, 5mm rem, 22 shkrt, 22 long, 22cb, 22bb, 22 lr, 22wmr, 22 wmf, etc. 25 or 27 cal rimfire in 300-500 ftlbs, now that would be worth having if peices kept cheap.
@AldoSchmedack rimfire only makes sense on tiny rounds, anything bigger, and center fire is objectively they correct answer. Why make a 25 rimfire when 25acp and 25-20wcf exist and can be reloaded.
@@AldoSchmedack I'm pretty sure this hasn't been done before, but the main reason for this is because people love 22 lr and a lot of places are banning lead bullets so they came up with the 21 sharp.
I really don’t understand why they made this. There’s already ELR style bullet designs made for 22lr Really the short comings for the round are inherent to the case design. You’d be better off moving to a center fire case and higher pressures
Pointless. The 22lr has lasted for so long because it's very versatile and has an uncountable number of firearms chambered for it.

21 Sharp is the EV version of 22LR to meet California emissions.
22LR won't be going away in the free states.

Way too funny
Let’s see how many times we can keep reengineering the wheel
When are the companies gonna realize we want bigger not smaller rimfires? When is a 25 or 27 cal coming?
What is it? A solution in search of a problem...
Keep that crap!!!! Cost 26-30 cents per round.
Really looking forward to seeing more content about this round. It has me intrigued.
@martinpm5353 copy that! Thanks Martin!

@Tom-p1h copy that! I may have to dissect a 22 Stinger next time.
I don't understand why they kept the rimfire primer..... That is the 22lr weak point........ They just made something that won't sell IMO
I’m thinking just to keep prices down if they use standard 22lr brass the price will be much lower than if they had produced a new centerfire casing
@@tylerd8516 exactly. I would imagine the case would have to be enlarged to accommodate a primer. Something along the lines of a .25 acp case
Good luck getting that little case to hold a small rifle primer. small rifle primers are going for $125 1000
I'm hoping to see a subsonic loading similar to the Aguila Super Sniper
@SiliconeSword exactly = no more dirty suppressors, too!
Not a fan…
The new .45 gap has arrived...Why?

Agreed
When are you making a video on the savage firearm with the 21 sharp?
@jasonperson9080 well my guys at Winchester and Savage are telling me at least a week "or so" on the rifle! Fingers crossed!!!
Good luck finding that ammo

@williammccaslin8527 yeah the only other video I have seen was from that Turkey Guy = looks like he had some accuracy issues.
Waiting on your vid, when you get your riffle an test it out

It's always the same when something new comes out people immediately start crying about it like it's a bad thing.
@darrellperry8175 indeed. I am amazed at the amount of pushback!

Why????
but can it be fired from a standard .22lr firearm?
No it can not.
@blatantrefusal probably, however the gas seal will not be there because of the 0.209" diameter 21 Sharp bullet.
@@heavydinnr6693it can be but it won't be accurate or have full power
Fail, i will not buy it, i hope it fails. I don't believe I will buy any winchester products again.
