I'd say the vertex attributes make coloring this model MUCH easier - it would be interesting to see how he would have gotten the same result without bitmaps and without the vertex attributes.

Yes, the Vertex paint almost felt like cheating ! :) For the yellow color of the banana, I would have used Vertex map again, but driven by fields to create different aeras with different colorized noises. In 1h live, one can do only so much :D
