Idea for a video: you get two teams of a 2000, 1600, 1200, 800 and 400. The 2000s play the first 5 moves then hand over to the 1600s for 5 moves etc. See if the lower rated players can convert the advantage their teammates built up or if they just blunder mate in two.
This was less a chess game and more a piece of art. It evokes a powerful drama and ends with an underdog win. It was a moving piece, but some might find suspending their disbelief a bit too difficult. Sure, it had it's share of plot holes, but it's a feel good story in the end ;)
I legit took about 5 seconds to process that the last word you said was "checkmate." With a game like this I didn't think it was possible with TWO QUEENS!!!!!
@Insert Username Oh yeah I just started chess my first game was like 13 mistakes 37 blunders and 13 missed wins lol. Then my second match I did only 4 mistakes and 2 blunders. On third match I beat a 800 elo guy. I don't think I will improve faster from now on I'm kinda stuck at 800-1000
This was awesome. So many of us newer players have no theory to support our moves and just have tunnel vision. This is the kind of video that you can watch many times to keep learning. Seeing such crazy blunders from yourself, then learning what to do and what went wrong is super informative and helpful. Thank you for having a lot of content for lower level players.

That ending felt like you just survived several near-fatal accidents in a car only to drive over a landmine and become mist. It's not just a sucker punch. It's just brain gone. I mean yea, chess hard. The emotional whiplash of the final four moves is just, wow.
The best chess advice I ever got was "if your planning involves the phrase 'I hope my opponent doesn't notice this', plan something else." Meanwhile, beginners don't simplify for the following two reasons: a) they don't know how to simplify RIGHT, and they've learned in the past that doing so leaves them with a knight and a pawn against two rooks and b) the way they win games is by giving checks until they accidentally checkmate. The fewer pieces you have, the less likely that is to happen.
At this level I'm impressed the player knew he was allowed to move the king out of check instead of being forced to capture the queen who was checking him.
I actually felt as emotionally exhausted as Levy looked through the highs and lows of that match. However my stomach curdles at the thought of him evaluating one of my games!

6:22 I think I genuinely understand this. I think Faraz saw the earlier check with the Queen but genuinely thought that black could castle out of the check so they didn't play it. Once black moved the rook, "AHA! Now you cannot castle and my bishop can deliver check" is how I saw this move
Levy I have seen so many comments thanking you and talking about how you’ve made so many people better at chess…it’s nice to be one of them. You inspire a generation

Me too. I'm ~500 rapid, and I saw a lot of the checks before Levy mentioned them. smh.
