HP's lack of QC and overall horrible manufacturing standards has made nothing but every product they produce to be unreliable and broken crap. The Reverb G2 is no exception. Not to mention the Gen 1 WMR technologies that are just not good enough compared to modern systems like oculus's great inside-out and and Valve's far superior lighthouse tracking. I would recommend the G2 system if only to warn about HPs terrible build quality and the dogshit controllers and tracking that makes the PSVR tracking actually seem decent. Fair to mention that the extreme clarity only exists in a small FOV while the outside FOV is a blurry mess. A swing and a miss from HP and MS. It's no wonder Valve is so embarrassed for the VR hardware market, no one can make a decent PCVR system other than them.
DCS is a free game that supports VR. I haven't tried "SQUADRONS" yet, but DCS is AMAZING! You look out the cockpit at your wings, you look back at your gauges, and it really feels like you are in an aircraft. Also, you can get prescription lenses for 70.00 that twist onto the lenses of the REVERB G2. I love them. Watching movies in them is like watching movies in a movie theater.
Thanks for the review. I'm getting close to buying my first pair and these are particularly interesting as they work with Windows. I'm hoping these could serve as a replacement for my monitors. Is it possible to have the headset display my desktop and work with windows applications?
Although you can technically view windows and programs in the VR headset, if the application is not designed for VR use, it's likely not going to be a pleasant or even useable experience. I wouldn't recommend it as a monitor replacement.
I have Rift S almost 2 years and now want to upgrade to G2 , I tell you this all my games ATS, MS flight sim, Skyrim , or Lone echo I and II oh boy !!!, all other sims they look so awesome in VR that I can't even explain!! it's beyond everything you experienced so far playing on a monitor once you start playing on VR you won't go back to normal playstyle lol.
You can play with friends who have the Oculus, but the game needs to support crossplay. Also, if everyone if connected to their computer and playing games through Steam, that will work with multiplayer too.
Please use the included power adapter plugged into the headset's power port. The HP Reverb G2 connects to your PC via a DisplayPort™ 1.3 and USB 3.0 cable. If you use an adapter, ensure that it supports 4K resolutions. >Mark
Its serviceable. Its not as bad as it used to be thank god, but you'll do fine. Keep in mind Quest 2 users and Valve's will have an advantage because their tracking is near flawless compared to the g2's.
the visual quality is very good but after near 20 minutes of usage I measured 45C on lenses - I feel the dangerous heat with my eyes - you can boil your eyeballs with this device
I am very sorry to hear this and obviously this is not normal for this product. Please contact us or HP right away. B&H Customer Service Team: Call: 800.221.5743 or 212.239.7765 Email: cs@bhphotovideo.com HP: 800-752-0900 www.hp.com/ >Mark
I can't believe this dude spent all this time and effort just to show off beatsaber and SWsquadrons on the G2, smh. Use the high res as intended for games like HLA, DCS, PC2, H3VR, Saints & sinners, you know, games that really compliment the high res. Not apps that any VR HMD does the same in.
I would bet he is running the Reverbs highest settings. It's too much for a 2070 super. You can keep the resolution and take quality down to medium or even low. Still a fantastic picture.
What are your thoughts on this virtual reality headset?

Biggest piece of junk for a vr headset ever made

How bout on just watching movie on netflix do i need a high specs pc to enjoy high quality movie?
Literally any modern pc or laptop will work for that : )

I'm thinking about getting into vr gaming

Hello i have a question with this headset can you play with friends who have an Oculus>?
You can play with friends who have the Oculus, but the game needs to support crossplay. Also, if everyone if connected to their computer and playing games through Steam, that will work with multiplayer too.
And Why do I need a bluetooth adapter for this vr? if vr is connected with cables to pc I don't get it
The Bluetooth connectivity is for the controllers Smolex. >Mark
Is the USB cable just for powering the headset? Can it be fed with a cellphone charger instead of plugging it to the computer?
Please use the included power adapter plugged into the headset's power port. The HP Reverb G2 connects to your PC via a

how good is the tracking for games like Pavlov and Onwards?
Though we have not used the HP Reverb G2 Virtual Reality Headset with these games, we expect it would perform very well. >Mark

Excellent review - I'm considering upgrading my Rift CV1 headset to this. What was the Bluetooth receiver for that you mentioned?
Game controllers run on Bluetooth.
The motion controllers connect via Bluetooth. >Mark

Wow. Does it need to be in cooler place to avoid this inconvenience
Nice

yeah this video is BS
Why does it look laggy?

We did not notice any significant lag/delay with most settings or games. >Mark
Do not buy this if you have the X570 motherboard. It is a great headset otherwise
I have heard that, but I have an x570 mobo, and the G2 works just fine.
what about a b450? ive heard it has issues with amd boards period
@@MrRobschnieder You should be fine; the issue was just with X570 and I think B550 boards.
@@VoodooGod They have fixed it; I just checked my receipt and It's from February so it's possible the issues may have been resolved.
there is a BIOS update to fix the USB dropout issue and i can confirm the issue has been resolved on my PC using the CV1 and Vive Pro
