The absolute WORST is when everyone is sleeping in your house and you are the only one awake and you feel nauseous. It's so damn scary
Shuli Cohen ikr
Shuli Cohen omg exactly what i'm afraid of😔
Shuli Cohen yes
Shuli Cohen I know right!
Shuli Cohen legit me right now
Emetophobia is probably the worst phobia to have, in my opinion. I've had it for around 8 years, and it's been miserable.
Same😔mine is awful!! Hey at least we're not alone😕😌
Demonic Cupcake I have had it since preschool
I'm young so I can remember
Bleeding Nightmares yeah it's the worst and the worst part is that no one can understand us
I've dealt with this for 14 years and I'm only 17. I never had access to anything like this for the majority of those years so thank you SO much for being brave and caring enough to do this. It is seriously important to have this content out there.
Hatbox Ghost I've had it for 5 years and it sucks :'c
If someone is sick I feel anxious and feeling anxious makes me feel sick and feeling sick makes me more anxious.
There is no escape!!!
baby donut 01 FINALLY SOMEONE CAN RELATE!! IT’S SOOO HARD TO DEAL WITH THIS PHOBIA!!😭😭😰
baby donut 01 sameee
EXACTLY! I'VE NEVER BEEN ABLE TO RELATE MORE TO SOMEONE IN MY LIFE! 😢
Omg I’ve never related to something more than this, I’ve got gastritis which makes me feel sick quite a lot, when I feel sick I’m always on edge and that makes me feel worse...
Ikr!! When some one in my family says that I will avoid them because I'm scared of getting sick!
Emetophobia sqaud stand up
Here i am! Stands up

I’m too lazy but I’m here too
I always have headphones with me so if someone is gagging or vomiting i just put them on and blast my music on full and be like bye i'm outta here
OMG, THIS IS ME, IF I DON'T HAVE THEM I FEEL SO ANXIOUS-
Wow that’s what I do
ya but if im in public i try to cover my ears but it doesnt work so my heart stat beating and i start chaking
Me to lol that’s why I always have my Bluetooth blasters 😂
I did that a week ago smh, it's really scary
I won't lie. I cried watching this. It feels so nice to hear this kind of stuff.
same
Same
Lunar me too
Im 11 and it absolutely has ruined my life. I cant go on roller coasters because i feel like someone is going to throw up
im now 15👍🏻
i still am deeply scared of throwing up and seeing it.
wierdo girl Same :( same age too
wierdo girl when I was convinced to go on this tiny kiddy roller coaster, half the ride was spent thinking OHMYGOSH I'm gonna throw up, and once I realize that's not going to happen, OHMYGOSH the people behind me are going to throw up
wierdo girl same. :(
Wait really? I’m 12, 11 when you posted this. Sometimes I forget that people my age can go through the same things. I really hope you can get over it! Try talking to a therapist if you haven’t already or talk to an adult about these feelings and ask if they can try to help you. My dad is so amazing, he understands when I’m uncomfortable and calms me down when I’m on the verge of an anxiety attack. I hope things get better!
WOW ME TOO
I legit started stroking the screen, saying "SHE UNDERSTANDS ME!" when you were talking about the cycle of panic attacks, physiological symptoms and emetophobia. I go through those feelings every day and it's so comforting to know I'm not alone. I've been going through a rough patch with my emetophobia today :(
cuppajess omg me too! Everyone laughs at my fear and says it's dumb but nobody really understands how bad it actually is. I feel like I belong here in this comment section. Which is nice.
I have Emetophobia and my mind keeps getting the idea that if I don't eat I can't throw up which is stupid and I need that idea gone. And then when I don't eat my stomach hurts and then it just triggers it more.
Hey, i used to have the same problem. Look, not eating can develop problems too, like gastritis and that stuff. So, make sure you eat enough to feel good and not sick. If you eat the perfect portions and healthy food there's not going to be a problem. By the way, if you ever feel sick or like you're about to throw up try to make some ginger tea, that would make you feel better.
Also, sorry because of my bad english, i'm not a native speaker.
DaddyLongLegs same i also try not to eat something with my hands and it annoys me and my family so much
This was me and I lost so much weight. It was horrible. Thankfully I’ve learnt to force myself to eat because it will probably will feel better then empty stomach pains.
DaddyLongLegs I do the exact same thing
This was me, then I realized that you can be sick if you eat or not and it's worse on an empty stomach, you can end up with upcers. CBT helped me a little bit. I have been forcing myself eat little bits after I almost collapsed , I need to look after myself to look after my family
The worst part about having emetophobia for me is that no one understands it. No one. My family doesn't. My mom has even told me that's it's stupid.
In computer lab we had to copy this list of "Weird Fears" that she assigned. Of course, emetophobia was listed. It struck because I thought it was unheard of. I started feeling relieved because I thought that finally someone understood when suddenly this guy blurts out," SOMEONE HAS A FEAR OF PUKING??!!! HAHAHAHAHAH!! *fakes gagging and puking*." Class: " HAHAHAHAH I KNOW RIGHT WHO HAS THAT!!" It hurt so bad. No one gets me. This side of the internet is so amazing because it helps me so much. Thank you so much!
Samantha xp I think people should not make those because it can hurt people when some guy on a UA-cam is like and number seven on the list is emetophobia or something, it's not nice to say that anyone's fear is weird
Same my mom got angry when I started shivering of fear then they started teasing me by pretending to throw up
Samantha xp I can relate my mom says it’s normal and that it’s just throwing out food BUT NO ONE KNOWS HOW EMETOPHOBIA FEELS
assholes- it triggers emetophobia so much:( im so sorry
I get you :(
I have had anxiety attacks in the middle of my class and my whole class just stays like "what the fuck is wrong with her?"
Is anyone always waiting in fear till their stomach is empty, so that there is nothing to throw up with? And then stops eating for 2 days?
Aleksandra Modjevsky I'm going through this right now, as soon as my stomach feels empty I feel a bit of relief
Aleksandra Modjevsky YESOMG
I used to do this. Now I know if I don't eat I feel even sicker
Aleksandra Modjevsky yes, whenever I'm sick, I just won't drink or eat, until I'm sure it's gone. It's awful
Yess!
I don't think i have super bad Emetophobia, but i have trouble eating because i'm scared i'm gonna throw up. And everytime i get a stomach ache i always get really anxious.
Kpop Trash that’s exactly what happens to me!
Same and I’m just a baby (11) it developed this year
Same
Me also.is there any solution for that?
Sometimes I even skip meals. 😭
I have Emetophobia and mint gum is literally a life saver. I also find that pinching the skin between your thumb and forefinger works as a distraction.
Omg I've been pitching my skin and it works
I tried the gum tip and OMG it is a life saver thank you for sharing !!!
I know, it so helpful and so easy! It's the difference between staying in and going out a lot of the time for me :)
+Anna Nunn thanks for the tip!!
Anna, have you ever tried ginger for nausea (ginger pills, ginger gum, ginger candy)? I've heard that ginger works wonders for nausea, so much so that they make ginger lollipops for cancer patients going through chemo.
I eat an apple because I tell my self that if you can eat this apple you won't throw up because you can't eat if you're sick
I do things like that as well. Emetophobia sucks. Big time.
Anne Bell when I eat oranges I say if you eat an orange you can't be sick
Eve The Innocent I keep mint gum in my mouth at all times because I always heard you can't get sick if you eat gum
Lauren Chandler maybe that's why I LOVE gum...
Eve The Innocent probably ! I always have some in my mouth
I watched this at night during a panic attack and it helped me so much thanks:)
Sameee
Yup Same
Me too
Same x
She also has a video that helps me a lot, it’s about talking you through an emetophobia panic attack!!!
I remember as a kid watching a movie or tv with my family and whenever there was a scene where someone threw up and I was visibly triggered, my family would laugh and it just always made me feel like my emetophobia was stupid and childish… I’m 22 and still deal with this phobia but over the years it’s gotten more tolerable. It’s so validating to listen to other people who have a similar experience
I have Emetophobia and it's super scary for me as I have social anxiety and the social anxiety makes me feel nauseous so it just never seems to end :( it's good seeing people be more open about it ok UA-cam because I felt so alone and I wanted to make a video on it but not many people do so it put me off a bit. This video really helped thank you! :)
I know how u feel, I have emetophobia I have had it all my life and it is very scary at first I thought I was alone but there are lots more people out there who have this phobia and I also have social anxiety because of the phobia, u are not alone xxxx :)
1. Always sleep
2. Always drink water
3. Give yourself time to think and calm specially before sleeping.
4. Always carry sanitizer and mint gum.
5. Bring a support system like best friend when going outside
6. Speak up about your feeling like you're feeling a lil bit uncomfortable
7. Face your fears. Go outside. Face everyone. Fight that bully emetophobia!
I have a question:
How should I deal with family members/friends not understanding my phobia? They think I'm exaggerating, and that it isn't a real thing.
I know how you feel. I'm sorry, I don't exactly know how to help you mainly bc I don't know how to solve it myself but just know ur not alone..
I deal with the same thing. I was told to "grow up" and "get over it"
People don't understand that this is a very real fear. If you need help some things I can recommend are just saying how you feel and how overwhelming it is. Another thing you can do (if you're an adult) is leave anyone who may be causing negative or unwanted thoughts, feelings, and comments into your life. I grew up in an environment that was very negative even from my parents and siblings but I have found that once I removed them from my life (I spend all my time with a friend or grandparent) that it has become easier to cope. I'm sorry if you're in a negative place you can't leave but I promise you'll get out soon!
I get that too!
Same, they tell me im being stupid...It used to help but now i just panic more?
I wasn't aware what emetophobia was until just this year, but I remember way back when I would run as far as my legs could take me if someone just mentioned feeling sick, or I would find ways to close my eyes, plug my nose, and plug my ears all at the same time just in case someone threw up, or if someone choked on their food, or made a sound like they were gonna throw up, or even just burped sometimes, the next thing you know, I would be like 8 miles away and still running. And that's how I knew. It just all makes sense noe
I have never related more to a comment before, if someone starts choking or making gagging noises Its gonna be a one-man-marathon for me
@@henna.soleil Hahaha literally, no fun at all.
@@henna.soleil I just want to say though, it's now been three years since I've posted that comment and things have got a lot better. I still have the phobia for sure, but I overcame a big fear this winter as I went to Antarctica without my parents and crossed the Drake Passage, also known as the roughest body of water on earth. I was terrified for months prior to our expedition of getting sea sick on the crossing, I even considered not going on the trip. But I pushed through anyways because I knew I had to make my dream of going to Antarctica come true. And I did! I never got seasick but I watched two of my friends get sick and I was calm, I walked away and forgot about it soon after I went up to the top deck of the ship. I was surprised thinking back and looking at how far I had come, even if it didn't seem like it along the way. Don't worry too much, things WILL get easier!!!
Omg, I can relate so much to the closing your eyes, ears and nose at the same time. I may look like I’m idiot but at least I’m surviving :)
Same here
Whenever I feel like I'm going to throw up, I'll run a bath and it'll immediately calm me down.
aww! thanks for the emetophobia representation, ibuki ♡♡
@@cakecryptid You're welcome!
when watching comments or when i google emetophobia i see only girls talking about emetophobia and i feel like im only boy with this illness! Friends be like "wtf? vomiting is normal" and im like "its far away from normal". Vomit free since 2005 or 2006! But still making my life lots lots harder
+Lucaaas It is as common in both genders. You are not alone; I had a bit of emetophobia, but cured it myself by unwanted exposure.
Depending on what degree of emetophobia you have and how strong you are mentally - can help you recover or eventually cure the stupid phobia.
It's much more common in women than men, but that doesn't mean your the only male that has it too!
Dude Im 14 and ive Had emetophobia since i was ten Nobody knew what was wrong with me i didnt even know Throwing up is Scary it feels Like ur gonna faint Just Know Ur not the only one Im homeschooled. Cuz Everytime I would go out thinking i was gonna see somebody throw up or even me I still struggle with this but i know God has a plan for me
fcr1209 he means like unwanted infection by norovirus or some food poisoning
fcr1209 yeah same here, but not by getting sick
I've struggled with emetophobia for about 5ish years now and it's gotten progressively worse through those years. School in general makes me super anxious because I can feel trapped and like I can't escape if I get sick. When I'm panicking I like to sit down and watch a Disney movie or watch asmr they both really help. Emetophobia is hard, but we can all get through it.
ik how you feel I have it too it kinda ruins my life and im on 10😢😢
xXunicorn PlaysXx I know how u feel I am 11 and feel like that to
I’m thirteen
Same here and it really sucks :/ i never get any sleep at all 😭
Julia Rose Same,I have emetophobia and im 10.Some of my friends dont take it seriously and think im being overdramatic. And it hurts beacuse i think im overeacting. They make jokes by Gagging and coughing.
I'm 12. Also I have extreme Emetophobia, and I can't go on a car ride with my whole family for more than 30 minutes. It fückîng sucks.
i wake up almost everyday with a panic attack and stomach ache and worrying about throwing up at school. the more i think about it the more i worry and the more my stomach hurts. i've missed 6 days of school so far this school year and it started like 35 days ago. i can't go ill sit over the toilet gagging or lay in bed crying with my stomach hurting and it makes me want to get home schooling sometimes it's so bad. please help
I know its a bit late and honestly it isn't a perfect fix at all, but usually I will chew mint gum...and I also have a breath drop that I have. It takes away any sense of acid taste in your mouth and throat and has always helped my brain believe it's ok. If my breath tastes fresh that means I'm not going to throw up because minty breath=healthy breath which means I'm fine...🤷 It's honestly been a life saver for me over the last 5 years.
THIS IS SO ME emetophobia has RUINED my life school is SO hard stomach hurts EVERY morning ever since I left elementary school and moved onto middle school I switched schools twice and nothings helped and my parents keep telling me it illegal and I know that but its like WHAT AM I SUPPOSED TO DO so yea I get you its really hard and we'll get over this I know we can
I had to go through this my entire grade school experience it was awful
im the exact same. I’ve dealt with it for 8 years and it’s not fun at all, it’s ruined my life. im now in partial hospitalization treatment and i hope you’re getting better!!
Hmm. Imagine being dehydrated, hungry and sleep deprived. Because that’s what I am right now.
I have emetophobia! it's awful 😔
Same😔
KristenBrendan AndBaby same😔
i have serious emetophobia and i always felt so alone and sad about it but your videos help me with it and make me happy! (:
+Madi Green I am so glad that I am able to help
I'm nine and I have emetaphobia and have panic attacks every morning before school
Aw, I'm so sorry that you have to deal with panic attacks at such a young age. You'll get through this. Everything will be okay for you.
I'm 10 today it's my bday I think I have emotophbia
Believe it or not the best way to overcome it is too just vomit... youll have real bad nausea before you vomit and if you decide not too throw up youll be dealing with it all day... i suffer from emetephobia and i try my hardest to throw up if i really need to and it makes me feel way batter and i just go about my day
This DEFINITELY does not work for anyone!
that makes it even worse for me
I have emetophobia, this upcoming July I will have had it 6 years. sometimes my anxiety isn't too awful and sometimes it is.. last night I had a bad panic attack, worst one I've had in a while. I really thought I was gonna get sick. I didn't but I felt so nauseous. What I do when I'm anxious is I watch Asmr videos, it really helps me to relax.
What's Asmr ?
+Kayleigh VowlesKayleighV asmr videos are videos containing calming noises
dance dragon Thanks :)
Hannah Arocha same here. I try to distract myself.
Hannah Arocha I hate it when that happens. For me it happens when I get caught up in my fear and forget to calm down before I get too worked up
My emetophobia is me being deathly terrified of others getting sick, I'm not afraid of myself getting sick. Whenever I see someone getting sick, I legit cry and feel like I can't breathe😩I think about it for hours and can't get it out of my head for a while. It's so debilitating
valjbw same here...
This is the one. And then I’ll think about all the other times someone has.. my gf got sick and I thought I could handle cleaning it up knowing how I am but i didnt want to be mean.. i was shaking putting gloves on and I completely shut down once i tried and i wasnt okay for over a week
I got so emotional watching this because I had this for years and didn’t know what exactly I was feeling or that it was common. I have anxiety and have struggled with panic attacks for a long time, but a few years ago I started experiencing severe emetophobia. I absolutely dreaded public transport because I couldn’t stand being so close to so many people and feeling trapped. My family and friends laughed at me when I told them about it or said something like “well no one likes vomit, it’s normal”. This led me to think that this wasn’t important and ignore it. In the past year, it got much better on its own. I don’t experience severe panic attacks because of emetophobia anymore but it didn’t go away completely. I hope you all stay strong and take care of yourself because your struggles are important and valid!! 💛💛💛🌼💛💛
a potato My mom says the same thing! Thank you for sharing your experience😊
Yo, here in 2019 crying in my bathtub because I have heartburn
Literally exactly me too but in 2020
My sister has a stomach bug right now and I’m absolutely FREAKING OUT
Is it better now?
Oh my God same
Hi, Jona. My name is Rachel, I'm from Brazil and I'm fighting against the emetophobia since I was a little kid.
And now, I thank God I found you, girl. It's been very hard for me to deal with emetophobia. Today, I went to the doctor again, and he said I'm totally healthy, my stomach is normal. But the case is that I will have to make an exam, that I have like 70% of chance to vomit and I'm just freaking out with this, because I can't talk to my mother about this problem. I'll try to find a good psychologist, to make the things better. Then, I think I will be able to do the exam. Thank you so much, hope you keep helping people with this problem.
her saying i can do it really made me tear up because nobody ever says it to me. people get mad at me for running out or not eating something that i don’t trust. thank you so much
This really helped. I have emetaphobia and anxiety and whenever something related to 'getting sick' I would have bad panic attacks even if someone had only said they felt sick. It was worst when I was in Germany without my family and only my school. This boy was sick on top of this massive mountain so I couldn't go anywhere to try and calm down and I had a really bad panic attack and I couldn't breathe. At the time I didn't know about emetaphobia or anxiety and so people and I thought I was a bit wierd that I was breathing heavily and shaking and couldn't move. Now my best friends know when something like that is going to happen so when I look panicky they will get me away from the situation as I can't really function. This video really helped, thank you❣️
i thought i have a phobia that no one in the world have , but today i found out that i'm not alone
everyone laughs at me and they think that i'm just a crybaby and they try to calm me down but i have such a terrible panic attacks
my life is so hard with this phobia and i can't get over it , no one can understand me
all of my family and friends keep telling me that vomiting is just a formal thing but it's not for me
i really need help my life is so hard
(this could be triggering) My story. Ive been scared of vomiting for 3 years but it didnt get to a serious point when i could call it a phobia till the end of 2014. It was the school camp and well, you guessed it, gastro was brought along. mostly everyone got sick. gladly i didnt. For the rest of that week my heart would be racing.
For the past 3 months its been real serious though. on july 7 my sister got sick at work. So she calls my moms phone but my mom was on her way to pick her up and left her phone here. So of course i pick it up. You wanna know the first thing she says to me? an emetophobic? "do you feel sick. I think i got food poisoning from the meal we ate" as soon as she said that, shivers all through me, heart racing and sweating like a pig. I say no becuase i didnt but, being the emetphobic i am i thought i was going to get sick so im freaking at here lying in bed just waiting for me to throw up. my mom drives her home and i hear her throwup in the sink and im just feeling nauseas. i didnt get any sleep and for the next week everytime i ate id feel sick. i didnt get sick btw. and this made me realise that any meal i eat could be uncooked which would trigger food poisoning so everytime i eat take out i think in 6 hours i would vomit. When the time comes i need my mom to calm me down.
just typing this im feeling a bit triggered.
my hands start shaking if someone even says ”vomit”or i think about it i literally cant write right now..
same!
I know what you mean when you describe the throat tightening during an anxiety attack. For me it feels like someone is physically squeezing my throat. It's bizarre and very disconcerting.
This is the same with me it feels like something is stuck in my throat at I feel like I can't breathe.
My throat either gets really tight or like where my tonsils are it feels like that part is closing in and my throat itself is opening up if that makes sende
My story of one time me Emetophobia was triggered:
So I've had Emetophobia for a good few years. I was in a school prayer service and I was to sing a verse with my friend. Well, one of the other Duos, had a stomach bug, she burped and ran out of the room and was sick. Luckily, this was after we all sang the song, anyways, I had been pretty shaky the whole day, it was my first time to sing publicly and I still don't think I did good. I felt my throats tightening, and everything went dizzy, I didn't faint, but I felt I was about to. My teacher noticed and told me to sit down at the side of the stage near the door, it was open and it was a nice day, so I got some fresh air.
That's my story. Bye.
P.S: My friend did get sick if you didn't catch it.
When I get anxious my throat also feels weird, like itchy, tight, and when I talk I feel like literally gagging.
I have always been an emetophobe every since the first time I’ve ever puked. Now I’m pregnant and I’m my first trimester I was so anxious that I would get morning sickness and be sick 24/7. Lucky I never experienced it but it really took a toll on me because I was more concerned about no throwing up instead of my new growing baby boy💙 It’s so nice to hear there are more people who suffer from the phobia that I do!!
Thank you for the video. I only recently discovered the name of this phobia within the last year but I have had it since I was 6 or 7 (now 26). I was a chronically car-sick child and would beg not to have to go on car trips or school field trips because of the embarrassment of getting sick. I grew out of car sickness in my teenage years but the phobia remained. My biggest triggers are being around drunk people, people in doctor's office waiting rooms, people talking about being sick or telling stories about me getting sick, being too full after a meal, and having ANY alcohol whatsoever. Videos/movies with throw up scenes get stuck in my head and play on repeat during panic attacks for MONTHS. Some days I don't eat till 4 or 5 in the evening because I don't want any food in my stomach if I'm going on an errand or anything. It is debilitating and no one truly gets it. I'm worried I won't be able to have kids one day because of the phobia.
The throat things happens every time that I think about it
yea i feel dizzy and my tummy hurts
@@maciedozier9747 I have successfully gotten over it now lol
@@theunknownlegend8700 yea im just really scared ill get sick rn
@@theunknownlegend8700 have any tips? I'm kinda struggling and have been for a while
@@CheesyTornado for me I just ate really tiny tiny bits really slowly like crumb like pieces until I eventually ate the whole thing first I did crackers then a pringles chip things with barely any flavor then went on to bigger foods and tricked my brain that there is nothing to worry about
I‘ve had emetophobia since I was 8 years old, which is around 12 years now.
It is not super bad normally, but when I feel even slightly nauseous It gets so incredibly bad that I cant sleep or eat or be alone.
You are the first person I „met“ that understands what this feels like and how horrible it is, when every else just brushes it off.
So, Thank you. Really. Thank you 🙏❤
finally hearing someone who has the exact same symptoms that I do. I've struggled for 20 years and trying to get rid of it somehow or another. thank you for this!
Hey there how are you doing?
I am with this wonderful guy who has emetophobia and I am immensely I love with him soon will be getting married 🤞 if he proposes 😅
Reading your comment about you struggling with this for the past 20years can you tell me things a partner can do which can help in everyday life for someone who has emetophobia
Me, my mom and my dad was watching a tv-show, and then someone threw up. I’m having a panick attack right now. I feel like none of my friends understand it, they don’t understand how it feels to have Emethophobia. They just say “yeah, same” and I’m like: No, It’s not the same!! I don’t have trouble Eating because of my Emethophobia, but it just stops me from many things. When someone around me feels sick I automatically leave the room. One time we were on a classtrip and we had to fly home. And then a boy from my class, was really sick. He sat there throwing up, half of the way home. And It was the worst ever, because nobody understood me and I didn’t want to show them when I get panick attacks....
Yeah same! (On my bf's youtube account my name is sarah) My sister started gagging the other day and I had to leave the room, when I came back I started crying and my mom told me to get over it. It's gotten slightly better but I've had emet for 17 years (I'm 21) and its just awful.
Richard Ladd And I feel like emethophobia never gets better....
THISSSSSSSSS i asked for help in class and everyone was ignoring me and i was literally having a panic atackkkkkk
OK WHAT I THOUGHT I WAS THE ONLY ONE WHO THOUGHT MINT GUM HELPED WHEN IM NAUSEOUS
I am so glad I’m not alone rn I thought I was the only one! Your explanation is exactly how I feel during a panic attack! I’m so glad you make these videos!
I feel nausea Everyday and I haven't found a cure and I can't stop thinking about being sick because it just scares me so much. This phobia is too much for me... I can't deal with it
me too, I cried while reading that i never thought someone would understand me this much.
Gosh, I thought I was the only person who felt this way. You described how I feel so well. I'm going to check out your other videos and hopefully I can get a hold on this terrible phobia. :)
I have this 46 years :-(
Geraldine McArdle I'm almost 46 as well. Still have it too! I'm gonna do a video on the subject soon...
Thank you so so so so much for your videos about emetophobia! You're just so so kind and understanding and not-pressuring at all and such a comfortable person for me to watch. Your videos really helped me realising, that I am not alone with this and that I don't even have it in the worse kind of way and it really calms me down!! Thank you so much! *instant subscribe*
I have emetophopia and my friends don't understand, my friend Katie is ALWAYS saying "I think I'm gunna throw up!" Then makes stupid faces. My heart is normally 67bpm but when she says that I feel like my heart beats 100,000,000,000bpm literally, I know it doesn't, I don't show it but inside I feel so scared, whenever I talk to my mum about it she says " Shut up, you'll get over it!" Like that's going to help, I'm also going through puberty right now so my emetophopia doesn't help I love having cousins over to stay but I can't sleep well that night in scared that they are going to throw up! Can you give me advice on how to help me sleep when I have cousins over , thnx❤
TW: when i was like 6 my sister threw up i front of me and i was seriously traumatized for some reason, then later that day my mom told me that my sister drank old milk, so I SERIOUSLY STOPPED EATING MILK for 5 years. i didnt even like looking at anything with milk in it because it reminded me of the memory of my sister throwing up. i also hate plains and car rides because i know people can get car sick, and i’m like not scared of most things but vomit is just my worst fear ever.
SAME EXCEPT FOR ME IN 6TH GRADE I DRANK A JUICE AND GOT SICK AT NIGHT AND IM IN 9TH NOW I HAVEN'T DRANK THE JUICE FOR LIKE 3 YEARS AND ALSO THE CAR SICK THING SAME IVE NEVER GOTTEN CAR SICK BUT IK PPL DO AND I THINK ABT IT TOO MUCH NOW I THINK ILL GET SICK ABOUT ITT
It’s not about me throwing up it’s genuinely other people throwing up especially at school 🧮🧮📙📖🗳🔖
Thank you so much for your videos and raising awareness on this LIFE RUINING phobia, I’ve had it since I was 7 I am now 18 and it has made so much of my life hard and I feel so alone and deathly terrified during a panic attack but your videos bring me comfort that i’ve never felt ♥️
your voice sounds so sweet, and the way you are telling the viewer that they can get through it, makes me feel more confident with emetophobia! 🥺💖
Emetephobia is the worst. It’s embarrassing to talk about too because you feel like people will make fun of you for being afraid of something so silly. If anyone wants someone to talk to, a friend, going through something similar. I’ll give u my discord because I really need someone going through the same thing who just understands. If u reply I’ll drop my discord and we can start talking :,(
Im here for you and happy to help. I have it too so i understand alot
I think this is the first or second video I watched of you, and I already love your personality :)
I watched your hamilton videos and i just looked up "emetophobia" on UA-cam and when I saw you I started crying my eyes out.. I hate feeling alone all of the time, and knowing someome else knows... it helps so much. Everyone i know laughs at me, and it is so PAINFUL. Im just so glad. Thank you for being so open. you're amazing.
tips i’ve learned (as an emetophobe)
1. carry anti nausea medication on you at all times,
2. make sure you always have water with you at all times,
3. consider talking to your doctor about anxiety medication, (Ask about SSRI’s - non addictive)
4. carry gum and a “crutch” something that helps calm you down should you go into a panic,
5. research and learn that you are not alone, you are apart of a community that understands and helps eachother.
i believe in you, you can do anything.
this fear doesn’t define who you are.
🤍🤍🤍
Thank you so much for making this. I have emetophobia too.
your videos really help and omg we are like the same person with the public restrooms & how our anxiety/panic attacks are! it always feels better to know there's more people like us out there in the world !
Michelle O I am still shocked that that person who sent me the pictures was so cruel. Its awful honestly. But luckily there are kind people like you and I out there :)
JonasAlmostFamous we gotta have each others backs!! & good always beats evil haha :))
This is such a late comment but I've been watching this video over and over for a long time and I just want you to know, everytime I watch this, I'm able to calm down. Thank you for helping me, and so many others of us who struggle with emetophobia. 💜 You're an amazing person.
my emetophobia was at it's worst in 2010-2011. Nothing like this was on youtube back then, i know this would've helped so much. So thank you so much for making this, people like you help so many struggling and feeling alone.
Thank you for this this is the second time I watched this video the other time is when I was on vacation and after watching this made me feel relaxed and calm
I’m having the worst panic attack right now I’m currently crying my eyes out 😩
This video completes my life!! Never heard anything better, this is just exactly me. Glad to have someone who can relate. ❤ I litterally stress 24/7 and it's always the first thing on my mind. I have almost 10 panic attacks each day and they make me feel sick and then I don't know if I'm sick or stressed!! I get it completely😊 Love ya and thanks for the awesome video!!
As soon as you said your throat closes up I liked this video that’s exatbly what I tell people I can’t believe I’ve never found this channel before. I have really bad emetophobia and it stops me eating and this is how I feel exactly how you talk in this video I understand you so much and you understand me so much wow I need sanitizers everywhere and everything your saying is all I go through
i'm crying because i relate so much
I'm struggling with emetophobia so much. You inspire me to keep living. I wish we could be friends. Be well x
Your my new favourite UA-camr-I just got through an emet panic attack and watched some of ur videos and it completely went away. I feel so safe 🩷
I had thought that I was alone all these years but you among others have helped me see the truth. I am not alone in my pain. Thank you for your courage!
Hey check out the thrive programme :) it’s helped me out
Im watching this while a panic attack this helped ✨😊🤕
Hi there,
I suffer from anxiety as well and I've recently been ill and I was wondering how do you cope when you're sick? If I get close to feeling like I need to throw up I'll panic, make tea and force myself not too when I probably should. Is there a way you deal with it so you can cope with it?
Thanks for making this video 😊
Matt
This video is so amazing, thank you so much. I've never really met anyone else with emetophobia and it's just such a massive presence on my life and is so so difficult to deal with. Panic attacks are THE WORST! I'm in exam year at the moment at school and my phobia has just taken control of my life. Thank you for making me feel as if I'm not alone
Thank you so much for this video . Listening to your stuff is helping me calm down right now as I’m feeling really queasy. I’ve had emetophobia for almost 11 years I think and it’s always been so hard to calm down. Thank you for the help :,0!!!!!
Question:
What should I (we) should do if someone feels sick around us and that makes us panic?
Gianna Weisberg I think the best option (if you can) it is put your headphones on and try to concentrate in something else. that’s what I do, and if you can, try to talk to someone about some random thing, just try to ignore the person who is sick
I normally just run and stay the most away I can from the person that are feeling sick
@@ju-gq6wl thank you so much cause even though it was just an opinion i needed that
2 questions, are you afraid yo get pregnant and do you drink alcohol?
Cristina Castañeda i dont drink because im afraid that ill be sick. And ive been trying to get pregnant but im terrified for getting morning sickness. It fucks with me every day
Not all pregnant woman vomit and you just control your alchohol
@@suflowerx_7549 Yes, but most women do. Its bc their stomach isn't used to having a baby inside it. :)
IceFox_FireFox In that case yeah I am :)
13 and I have been having this since 2013 and in 5 months it will be 2019 and I just found out I have Emetophobia
Thank you so much for this video. Last year my anxiety and fear got so bad I wouldn't even leave my house, sometimes not even my room. I missed months of school. I'm doing a lot better now, and this video helped. Thank you ❤
Hello this is the first video that I watched from your channel and it really made me feel better in a time when I felt like I was alone with this fear. I can definitely relate to this ball sensation in your throat when you feel like you'll get sick and it becomes this vicious cycle with anxiety. Thank you for sharing your tips, I also use the mint gum trick! Look into rescue remedy products they really help to calm. Much love, Nelly.
as i watched this video my throat started to close because i just can't deal
These comments make me feel soooo much less alone, I'm crying😭❤️ I'm 15, and I have had emetophobia since I can remember. It has been the worst this year (2020-COVID). I've been seeing a therapist since last March, and that has helped me a lot. I also understand more about WHY I get anxious (other reasons which lead to a stomach ache, which then lead me into a cycle of panic attacks of throwing up). I have a few friends who I can talk to about this, but none of them actually have it. So seeing that there are other people who genuinely know what this feels like makes me so glad. Thank you❤️
I feel for you Im the same my dad never understood and took him a while to understand how im feeling im lucky because hes rather supportive or if it now and knows that if i get to anxious about the whole sick thinga n that i need to rest and be alone he will let me where as before we would think oh it fine just get over it
Thank you so much for this video!!! This makes me feel so much more comfortable with this phobia and I really agree with the chewing gum. Sometimes I get so worked up I wonder what the point in living is anymore because my my tricks itself into thinking nothing will improve, but this video helped me so much. Thank you so much 😊 Xx
I feel like this is good for everyone to know. There’s a difference between panic attack and anxiety attack. Panic attacks are often confused with heart attacks, that’s how bad they are and they come out of nowhere. But anxiety attacks spiral downward
Anxiety attacks are horrific ,they last all day sometimes
I know that you made this video eight years ago however, two of my close friends have a emetophobia and so I wanted to thank you for making this video because it’s helping me figure out ways to support them
emetophobia is by far one of the worst phobias, because you can’t do basically anything to prevent getting sick. emetophobia isn’t like a fear or spiders, it can lead to anxiety disorder (which i was recently diagnosed with).
oh damn, you're an awesome human being. thx for the vid, really encouraging for all of us out there with this thing
I hate to ghost old youtube videos, but that you SOSOSO much for posting this video! I have emetophobia and I honestly hate it, but it's so nice to hear that i'm not alone!
My worst problem is that I convince myself that I always could get sick so it’s so hard to calm down. Lately I am terrified of doing anything to try to calm down because I think it will cause me to get sick. I know this is crazy. I really don’t think it’s always about throwing up though, it’s about losing control and being unsure of the future
I have never commented on UA-cam ever in my life and I'm a biiiiiig UA-cam watcher, but I felt the need to comment.
You are such a positive wonderful person! I suffer from Emetophobia as well and it's so embarrassing to me! I've had it since I was 10 and no one in my life understands it.
I just wanted you to know I totally can relate to you and you definitely made me feel less alone in this! Wish we were friends in real life haha!!
Omg I have emetiphobia too and you described my panic attacks PERFECTLY
emetophobia has made my life so hard i limit where i eat because i am scared of v* and sometimes i hold my breath around certain people i won’t go near children and hearing people talk about getting sick makes my whole body go hot and cold and i can’t breath my dad teases me about it and ahhh it’s horrible i have the worst panic attacks they have gotten better but nothing is worse then having one in the middle of the night once my brother had to help calm me down i really appreciate these videos they make me feel less alone and help me cope thank you so much 💖
Thank you so much, right when u talked about throat closing i knew it was legit bc I get that too
I’m not comfortable at any restaurants. I can’t even go out to eat. this video made me calm down so much
Thank you so much for making these videos I thought I was gonna be sick but I don’t think so anymore.
