  • This German made beauty was love at first sight for me.
A specific tool watch which is made to the tightest tolerances and a unique look indeed...I just had to have it.
The watch can be purchased NEW from the AD here in Australia : www.timeonly.com/product-page...
    I purchased it preowned from : www.watchtime.com.au
    Thanks for watching...

Mühle Glashütte is such an underrated brand. They have a ton of heritage in making nautical instruments for ships and yachts. They’re like a German version of Ulysse Nardin, a real hidden treasure.

This is one of the few watches that, when I see the price, and I’ve learned about the build quality, I sigh. One, because I can’t afford it, and won’t for a while, and two, because this watch is actually worth it.
Sell all your other watches and buy this one. That’s this watch. One watch that can go everywhere and look good all the time.

Just got one of these yesterday to use as an everyday/any situation wearer. While I wouldn't wear it with a suit, it's a handsome watch that is DIFFERENT. It wears a bit on the heavy side, but that's understandable, considering what it is. A do anything, go anywhere, rain or shine, weather be damned, no nonsense kind of watch. Kind of unbelievable for the price. Brilliant!

The back-story is particularly intriguing. Not unlike the Marathon watches built for the Canadian professionals, but in my opinion, the Germans do it better.
I am even impressed that the designers went so far as to include the rubberized bezel for protection those needing rescue from blunt force trauma coming from the rescuer's watch. I don't think any small detail went unnoticed on this one.

Interesting piece Peter. But at $3000 , I wonder how many S.A.R. guys actually wear them.
My son is a U.S. Navy S.A.R. swimmer. Most of those guys use Casio G Shocks. He goes through about 1 a year. They are issued wet suits, masks and flippers, but not watches. Back in the day they got a Rolex or Tudor as part of their kit. Now they have to buy their own. Oh well he already knows he’ll get my Submariner some day.
It’s unfortunate that so many watches that are built for real use, are out of reach for the guys who would really benefit.

Great watch but I do have a big issue with the clasp. It is easily undone when pulled from the far end of the clasp (towards the end where the adjustment holes are).
I think the wetsuit extension can easily be undone

Even if, as time goes by, I feel I start to dislike this type of watch hands and gravitate towards broader ones, I can't help but appreciate the aesthetic of this watch (of course, also, it's tool intentions). I would not mind those hands if I had this watch.Maybe it's because the indexes are so easily distinguished and the big triangles help alot. It is, alongside the BB36, in my eyes, one of the most beautiful watches I have ever seen.
Thank you for such a great video, showcasing an amazing watch!

Always interesting what speaks to each of us. A Sinn will be my choice, although this watch is pleasingly priced, considering. But... SW200 as a base? No timing bezel? Rubber that can't be properly resized? All passes, for me. Love your enthusiasm for it though. Seeing it through your eyes, I can definitely appreciate it. Buying what we each love is the joy of this hobby. Congratulations!!!

Thanks for the great video! I saw it after I decided to buy this watch but before it arrived at the AD for me to pick up.
I think it's even better looking in person than in pictures and the accuracy so far is great. I synchronized it with a radio controlled clock and after two days it's running not quite a full second fast. That's pretty impressive.
The only thing that's bothered me is that every once in a while when I wind it, it feels like the whole movement is turning. That's the only way I can describe it. The winding feels heavy for a couple seconds and it sounds/feels like something heavy is spinning (the rotor?). Then after a couple turns it feels normal again. Has anyone else experienced this?

    • @PeterKotsa
      @PeterKotsa  2 роки тому +3

Its normal for the winding to feel a little heavy and then feel normal. Mine does it too.
I believe its the spring coiling up.
Enjoy it and wear it in good health
