I'm a new subscriber to your channel and I love your videos. The topics you discuss and the way you explain things is brilliant, I am learning loads. Thank you for sharing your knowledge and experience ❤ x.
Oh no ,, im sure Simon will sort something out,im crossing my fingers that some one will watch and may have some pre owned panels/ wood or rugs to help you out, thats some serious mud you have got going on ,I allways watch your videos to the end ,because I enjoy them Hayley,,, I wouldn't buy Toby new rugs either . Till the next time good luck with the roof 😊 and the mud.
Oh bless you @christinecartwright2711 Simon has found some roofing sheets that are half price so I'm going to go and collect those possibly tomorrow. We've got to get the roof fixed before the mud now 😥🤯 On the plus side he has just fixed old Bertha! Miracles do happen 💕🐴❤ I once bought Toby a rug for £200, it was amazing with anti rip technology blar blar blar and he had it for just over 6 weeks. I could have cried! Actually I think I did? Needless to say I don't do stupid things like that anymore and I was early 20's with no kids and spare cash back then. Oh those were the days! 😅💖
I am so sorry that this happened to you and I hope you can fix it. I hope the rest of the winter will be better weather for you. 🙏🏼Rainy winters are just the worst. 😩 but I guess we will have to get used to these in Europe with climate change. Weather is not much different here in German (minus the storm). I am lucky that my 24 yr old horse takes good care of his rugs. I am very thankful for that !
Oh no that’s some damage you have there and a lot of mud. This winter our whole state got a huge storm with winds 100kms an hour. Did damage around our property and trees down everywhere and no power for 7 days. Mother Nature is a force to be reckoned with.
I hope you can get it sorted soon. I wish I was nearer as I'd be more than happy to help out, but I'm in Norfolk broads area so nowhere near you. That net filler thing is great and I love that the horses help when you are in the barn net filling 😂 as for the rug wrecker I've no suggestions other than armour plating but he'd probably wreck that too, bless him ❤
He would @clare999 armour plating wouldn't have a chance against him! The best is if he gets too hot he just takes them off completely and then I find him huddled up to Hope with a moody face on. I love rugs that go up to his ears but they tend to get shredded even quicker, I think he just doesn't like the neck heat? If his neck is cold he keeps them on longer. Oh the politics of a senile horses mind! 😅🐴💖
I was in your shoes last year, we got hit bad with flooding up here, it nearly broke me after having horses for over forty years. But remember your a tough cookie and you will come out the other side of this. You have a great family supporting you and we are all cheering you on , take care and thanks for the update xx
Thank you so much @karenmackinnon7385 I love that everyone is being so supportive and sending such lovely messages. Simon has found a place that we think has the roofing sheets for half price so I'm going to phone them in the morning because its quite far and if they have ill be on my way! Bertha is alive again! Simon fixed her. I don't know how he does these things I really don't??? What would I ever do without him? 💕🐴❤
It takes years to sort out your own stables knowing where rain mud collects in winter where the ponies prefer to stand lay and poo. Getting hardstanding areas down is a must for any pony owner and ponies alike. You are doing so well in such a short time on such a realistic budget. Let's face it you are doing what most of us have to in the real world. However I'd love you to get some good sponsorship deals so I will continue to watch all your videos and the adverts to help as I can keep up the hard work . I love to see your whole family mucking in. I tell everyone about your channel as it's so diverse. ❤
Do you know what @abifinnis6608 I really needed to hear this right now. Simon has just read your comment out to us all and it has really made my week. Thank you so very much from the bottom of my heart 💖
I feel your pain about that roof. Have you considered contacting renovators? They often pull down old roofs and don't know where to put the debris, and often (at least here in Denmark) they are happy to let other people take it away. You might get lucky finding free roof plates there. Of course, the plates would then need a bit more work adjusting, but it might be worth it. Whatever you do - hang in there. 🙂
Goodness what a mess!! That storm was unreal for the UK, we don't get weather like that. It feels like it's just getting worse and worse over the last few years
I'm so sorry this has happened to you! There's probably reasons why, but have you considered buying plastic roofing and maybe put roofing felt under it, so it wouldn't be transparent (for the broken half of the roof). Also, not sure how feasible it would be but, would wood chip help with the mud situation by the stable? One suggestion would be seeing if the owner of that tree that's fallen down in your lane would let you have the woodchip from it when they come to clear it? Not sure if these are practice, just trying to think outside the box to help you, because it sounds really expensive getting it sorted!
If you put a tarp down, then a large ish board down, it would be safe to put a ladder on to use to repair your roof. Maybe someone is giving away free corrugated sheets. I hope you can get some. Best wishes.
Horses and the work they need is so hard in winter.
I love cheeky gets gets his rug off rug ripper hehe
I think your views will keep going up over the next year! Your videos are so professional, feel like they need you on country file as a presenter 🤣 xx
🤣🤣🤣 Oh could you imagine that! Me and my crazy hair 😅 Oh that would be fun ❤ Thank you so much @hannahm1256 for putting a smile on my face 💖🐴💕

I think sweet Toby needs a rug made from Kevlar!! Love the hay net helper, that is a handy gadget!

Oh bless you @hannahm1256 its just wonderful to know that you care about us! 💕🐴❤ Thank you so much for watching and for supporting our channel 💖
The storm was terrible! I did think about you guys as it seemed to hit us harder "this side" of Brum, let me know if you need anything ❤

so sorry about your roof - horses are such hard work all winter - look out for a cheap plastic snow sled to drag your hay over, might be easier 😅

We know how it is with 2 hurricanes visiting us this year 😢
So sorry about your damage. Do you have property insurance?
Did I understand you say that horse is 44 years old? Wow, even 34 is really old!
