Nice to see the bull was making the bed for all the ladies. 🤣I think they were all happy to come in for the night. Should be nice and toasty once the bedding starts composting. 🥰
I would think some wood chips about 4” deep as a base would allow airflow and cause less problems than straw or low grade hay. Then put your sawdust layers on top of wood chips.
We thought about trying that. We where worried about using green wood. Sounds like it might cause mastitis. Not sure the hay will be any better though.
Great video as always! Sorry if I missed it, what is your plan to “finish” off/cover OSB/framing where heifers to be? Looking for ideas of my own to protect untreated lumber and cleanup.
Thanks for the nice video. The animals look happy you work harder
Thank you for feeding the world

The cows all lined up to come in when they saw me bedding the barn!
Thx

Great video, as usual!
Thanks for watching!
Using a manure spreader to spread wood chips is genius. 😅
It works awesome
I like the way you slice the bales whats the machine called never seen one
It’s a Mc Hale bale slicer. We love it it save so much work!
great job
Thanks
Do you think you will have to wait longer before you Roto till the pack because of the Hay? As always really love your videos well done team.
Most likely. Last year we used straw and could roto till fairly easily. I don’t think we can do it with the hay.

We plan on boarding the inside with rough cut pine boards. The outside will be metal. The heifers will chew holes in the osb given the chance.
@ thanks and have a great day!
How about a QandA video
Great idea!
