Shawnee greens , creesie greens , beans and bacon, wild ramps, mollie muchers, sour grass ,you missed a few . I love watching you , you give me hope in this world. You're my kind of people. Thank you
This is an especially challenging time. But it's an excellent opportunity to show God's love to others and you do that beautifully. I'm really enjoying learning about herbs and teas and natural healing. Thank you for teaching this old woman some new tricks. I'm 66 and love the outdoors in southern ky.
Thank you for sharing these forage plants! Beautiful lady, you are a warm, glowing lamp in this dark and dreary world! I thank God so much for you! May he keep on blessing you in the same way you have blessed others! Stay safe!
Wow! I have four acres to forage. I know I have pine cones but didn’t know about pine nuts inside them! White chickseed is something I look forward to look for. I have tons of clover and dandelions and we never put chemicals down. Thank you and God bless you for being a servant of Jesus by spreading his Word and teaching us about his bounty right in our backyard!
Visiting your channel..I’m nearly in tears. The hope and beauty you exhibit inside and out (your heart and the outdoors) is a message of hope to me and many others. Thank you for taking the time to do this. My son has Down syndrome and the future is uncertain...but he will be right along side me to forage for dandelions and edibles. Again...thank you from the bottom of my heart!
Horace Kephart once said that "In the school of the woods, there is no graduation day." Wow ... you showed me a couple of new ideas for foraged food here. I knew some of these sources, but the Day Lily tip will come in handy today! Thank you for sharing, my friend ... God Bless
That is such valuable information. I love dandelions and plantain leaves. First I saute sliced or chopped onion in olive oil, or bacon grease works too. I then add the leafes somewhat chopped, but not too small. I rinse them well first, and the drops of water on them are perfectly enough to steam them in a covered pan or pot. Absolutely great over white rice, or in warm tortillas. A real treat for my family. 😎😀😍
If you clear away the brush and go down to the soil underneath your white pine you will also find pine nuts there. Look close but they are there they will be white in color or yellow. Thank you for sharing
We have radish, mallow, and mustard growing wild in our yard. There are also yucca, agave, cactus pear, mesquite, and more growing in a public field nearby. We've taught our kids how to identify key edible plants and where to find water and how to filter and purify it.
I live in far eastern Kansas, and my fruit trees are all in bloom. My pear trees, apple trees, and mulberry trees are loaded with blooms, and my yard is alive with dandelions, henbit, clover, chives, and so much more. Another staple that is popular in my household is air dried orange peels. I keep a fresh supply in glass jars, with the white desiccant packets, so the flavor is always fresh. When I spent time in self quarantine during January and February, I enjoyed a fresh pot of spiced orange tea every day. So keep those orange peels! Air dry them in a quiet area of your home, and have a source of vitamin C all year round. 😊⚘
Thank you from them dept of my heart. I will spread your info over here in the Netherlands. So that Gods children will live! Hope you and your loved ones are and always will be safe and sound. To everyone reading this. Stay positive no matter what! Trust to something really good will arise after all this. Make sure you live to experience it. That good care of yourself your loved ones and the ones that need care😇
Gratitude & Blessings! I have gone wild weed gathering in my backyard and I'm infusing into Apple Cider Vinegar. It includes Yarrow, Chickweed, Cleavers, Plantain, Lemon Balm, Purple Dead Nettle, Dandelion & Mullein leaf & root. It's my 1st time... BEing Divinely Inspired♡
Discovered your videos after the virus stay at home business started and the begining of toronado season here in Oklahoma your videos have been a comfort to watch and you sharing your Christianty is a blessing. Thank you!
It will be if people don't stay the *bleep* home! That 3-5% mortality rate will skyrocket to 20-25% as hospitals get overwhelmed & don't have enough supplies & respirators for everyone. They are the real heroes right now, taking care of all the willfully stupid people that refuse to listen to common sense. It's not as if we all didn't watch this disease bring China to its knees (a world super power). Hopefully there are a lot of isolated, sensible preppers out there that will make it through this thing.
Thank you for this beautiful and timely visit. And thank you for mentioning our great state of Maine. We are having an unusually early spring and I spent several hours today preparing some of my garden beds. I found a tiny dandelion growing and ate one of her leaves right there as I sat in the garden. Also a savory Queen Ann's Lace root graced my garden time. Life was "normal". Keep helping us all to be prepared for whatever comes our way.
Hi Angel girl. I love to learn this!! Thank you so much for your help and support. God bless you and your family. Have a great day. Let's all pray for each other and everyone
Good info. Nasturtium flowers are edible. Also, a friend told me to put the Lambsquarter from my front yard in my salads. (not Lambs Ear) I have Mugwort too, which is purportedly medicinal. Tea made from the leaves will taste slightly sweetish if you need the compounds & very definitely bitter if you don't. I have ingested all three of these things without ill effect.
I enjoy your videos and the scriptures at the end. Didn't realize how important my winter veggie garden would be right now. Last night's dinner was a beautiful salad with fresh lettuce from my garden. Stay safe everyone and may God watch over each and every one of you. ♥
My family and I were victims of that very tornado. We are in Nashville. We are still trying to recover. I wish I had known about your wonderful videos sooner! Your videos have absolutely been a blessing to me especially during this time of fear and turmoil. Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge.
Just picked dandelion flowers this morning and made a gallon of dandelion tea. Ate some chickweed and violet leaves and flowers as I was picking Dandelion flower heads. Purple dead nettle and henbit are rampant on our property. I could probably invite people to come pick their own, but they'd probably look at me like I had grown two heads!! Never knew that Redbud was edible. It seeds itself prolifically in SW Missouri. I will definitely look up eating the pods!
Thank you so much! These are informative and inspirational. I look forward to hearing from you! Blessings! The LORD is our Shepherd. We will not lack any good thing!
I gotta to say, today: I brought my mom homemade maple syrup and last yrs apple cidar vinager... I learned how easy it is to make, from you, Thank you!. What a wonderful bible verse, bless your heart.
Did those two thumbs down come from people who critiqued Christa on the fact that Maine is not in the Pacific Northwest? Lol, I am stupefied that anyone does not love her. She is a woman of faith and persistently encourages us to improve our walk with Jesus. She teaches us so many helpful ideas to make our life easier. Last but certainly not least being that she is incredibly Beautiful inside and out.
Thank you. I planted a peach tree tomatoes all the berries . Iam going to keep planting whatever im successful at. Ive only grown green onions in jars before
We have cattails, blue spruce trees, stinging nettles, wild raspberry, wild blueberries, wild strawberries, dandelion and so much more! We love to forage. You will catch my 14 year old daughter out there foraging everyday during the summer and fall
I think I'll go out early Sunday morning and get that wild onion growing all over my back yard. I'm glad I saw this because I would have did my first mow this weekend...I need to forage first.
I was in self quarantine for two weeks , but not do to the cornia virus . I had a severe case of a stomachs virus ,after about two weeks I had started to feel better . Dandelion greens .
I have had people pull yucky faces for years when I talk about gathering spring greens. People didn't used to be able to go to the grocery store and get fresh veggies all year. You put it up or did without. After a long winter of beans and cornbread, a big pot to greens did more than break the monotony. They gave you a dose of vitamins you had been missing. You felt better. Frozen, canned or dried the fresh greens can now last all year.
Well, I knew it was about time that you would begin digging around in that yard. This is one of those times when we can put into practice the practical things that you've been teaching...yes! Oh, and about that dying thing and "hating" your life uh-huh, there is a cross! With real life on the other side. Yea God! You do an awesome job! Keep it up!
I'm 77 and back in the 80s my Mother found lambsquarter growing in our tract house yard. We harvested it and had fresh cooked "spinach" flavored greens.
Great video as usual. Love your hair by the way. As a PNW native I agree with having access to many a wonderful spruce pine and maple tree. In my semi forested yard we grow Hawthorne trees. They are highly regarded for flowers berries and also leaves. I havent done it but I am told you can eat the new spring shoots as well. But I often go out and get loads of leaves and berries for hawthorne teas. It is so good. The tea from the leaves has different flavors and medicinal properties as from the berries. And drinking them fresh makes it seem like a totally different tea than after I dehydrate them. We have so many wonderful dandelions, dock, blackberry, oregon grape, red clover, among others. Oh yes plantain for sure. Between dandelion honey and blackberry leaf tea I get alot of joy out of my yard. It has never been sprayed since we lived here so I know everything is good and we can actually taste the health benefits. Thanks again for all you share. Namaste ;)
Awesome as usual. I had to go to micro greens and sprouts for the greens. I live in a suburban area with an HOA so my yard is limited to only grass. We have not gone to the store for over 3 weeks here in Florida. Thank God I have a good working pantry that will last about 9 months before going to the long term. However, incorporating beans and rice a couple times a week to lead in if necessary. God Bless you and keep up the great videos and knowledge.
I am so excited about this video! Thank you sooooo much! I absolutely believe that nature provides the best nutrients and medicine! I bought a book not too long ago called “The Forgotten Ways” it’s my favorite book after The Bible of course! There are so many plants in our backyard that are extremely high in antioxidants and a lot of them also cure cancer the native Americans knew what to use! There was a horse that had cancer so the owner just set him free the horse didn’t run away but he did go out into the fields and ate certain herbs and plants and the owner happen to take note which ones but the horse cured his own cancer that was such an awesome true story
Thank you. Your a blessing. Your work is so useful showing people how to self rely in the events that might be coming. Thank you for your Bible exerpts.
Fragaria chiloensis, (Ornamental strawberries). Dandelion roots kill cancer. I have wild chives in my yard every spring. Thank you Christa! You are very knowledgeable about God's creation.
Thank you for this video, I am just beginning my discovery of the edible plants growing in my yard, much thanks in this video for helping me identify which ones that I do have that are safe, also love your Godly encouragement at the end!

I am watching your video right now on front yard foraging in hoping and praying that you mentioned the name of this plant that you mentioned in another video years ago

Beautiful Information 😍I would never imagine making tea with the pine three needles 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼God bless you beautiful sister in Christ. Surely I will share the word. So it might produce fruit. Shalom 😇🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🌺🙋🏻♀️
Thankyou Christa for your excellent information and moreover your clear picture of the herbs: I've seen different ones of these before & the description is so vague & the picture so indistinct, just a mass of green that even when I knew what it was, I thought you couldn't even tell, unfortunately for the people who really don't know. I learned the name of the purple dead nettle that I've also had in my forage situations but couldn't identify what it was or whether it was edible, many thanks 😊
South Louisiana has milk thistle that we turn into a salad. Mulberry trees that grow naturally. Dew berries. All three of these are providing food right now. Later we will have elderberries. When it gets extremely foggy we collect edible mushrooms off of completely dead willow trees. Right now we also have clover, faux strawberries, Dandelions, etc.
In a nearby pond we have the American Lotus growing - it's those lilly pad flowers. The root of those have been used by the native Americans for centuries - a natural starchy tuber, available year round for harvest.
Just found your channel and I love it!! I live in a subdivision where my husband is kind of obsessed with only having Bermuda grass.....I'm gonna have to be like, Hey we gotta let some other stuff grow! 😂
Are there classes that can be taken to help teach these things and how to use them for food with recipes? If we ever lose the internet is be at a loss for remembering all this valuable info.

Lovely 😊 message thanks ,God bless and peace grace to all of us amen Alleluia 🙏🌸💕🌱🦋
Beautiful lady. Keep up the good work
South Louisiana has milk thistle that we turn into a salad.

Are there classes that can be taken to help teach these things and how to use them for food with recipes? If we ever lose the internet is be at a loss for remembering all this valuable info.
