He sent a beer maiden outfit to wear as a wedding dress the day before the wedding, she absolutely hated it and took it as a sign that he was treating the wedding as a joke. She was in tears and called the wedding off. He then got her another dress to persuade her to come and promised her that he has thought about her in the wedding ceremony. So she agreed to come thinking that the wedding wasn't about beer, and that because he replaced the dress that he was serious and did care about their marriage. When she arrived at the wedding she found out that the wedding was at the same beer brewery she had went to for the hen do, and that the wedding was about beer again! He proceeded with the wedding and didn't change a thing, eventhough he KNEW she was upset about beer being used as a focal point. He is a selfish jerk and deserved the reaction he got from her.
It was just a theme. It would have been fine had she not been a spoilt brat. He was upset by the honey thing because he was OBVIOUSLY already on the brink of tears, which she never was.

MUSIC LOVER weddings are traditionally paid for by the brides family. Tradition expects A LOT of a bride (with cultural variations). A dress, something old, something borrowed, etc. Men are required to show up. It not considered very masculine to want to shine on such a feminine day. Few men dream of their wedding their whole lives. If you don’t want to give someone u love something so important to them bc you decided a year ago it would be “cool” then maybe you don’t love them at all.
So true nearly every man on this show appears to be hopeless with everything, can’t manage money, can’t run a home, can’t get through the day with out the help of his 2nd mummy( girlfriend ). The bit that really got me was that Sofia included Craig's sisters in her hen group, they fed back to him that she was unhappy and didn't want to go further with the wedding and he didn't bother to make any changes from there. They then talked Sofia into accepting the situation.

I think the reason she stopped talking to him again when the show aired was because it would have become obvious that he didn’t just ‘accidentally get it wrong’, but openly disregarded what she would want throughout the whole process, only caring for what he and he alone wanted.
I’ve seen many episodes where they are more than pleased. Women that disregard what their partner wants are equally as selfish, though if we are honest, often the groom isn’t really bothered about the details of the wedding like bride. That’s no excuse for his behaviour though.

Just because a few, other, unknown women made their weddings all about themselves doesn’t mean that she has to accept her man doing that. Usually men don’t care about the small details on the day anyway, so that’s why weddings tend to be based on the brides vision. But if something is important to either party it should be done on the day as far as possible. Also women who act spoiled and make the day difficult are called bridezillers for a reason. It’s not meant to be a complement. You don’t know why they go on tv. Maybe because the wedding gets paid for? Weddings are expensive. The girl on this episode wanted a small outdoor minimalist ceremony with close friends and a few fairy lights. Not sure how that amounts to a show off wedding. I’m sure she never expected perfection but thought after eight years her partner might get it half right. Still don’t get your comparison with kids. Most people consider the birth of their kids as more important than their wedding, but that doesn’t make the wedding day non important. I feel like you are totally missing the point. It was not simply about the venue and the dress not being perfect. It was about his lack of consideration for her. Anyone with any self respect would not have married him either - but each to their own.
This show is notorious for making the grooms and brides life hell by like creating unnecessary tension and forcing the grooms to make decisions that will stress out the bride on purpose etc...
I felt a bit sorry for this guy at first (especially the honey part, he looked heartbroken) but I'm glad I read other comments, as I tracked down the full episode and he was a totally selfish asshole from start to finish. He ignored several instances he was being told she was majorly unhappy, and was actually rude and dismissive of her (calling her selfish and spoiled) throughout. He even insulted the bridesmaids when they tried to tell him she wouldn't like it. His American friend was a horrible tool too and, instead of remaining calm and neutrally supportive, actually made it worse by goading the groom into thinking the bride was selfish.
It is a traditional outfit, usually found in Bavaria. However, I've never seen anyone in Germany get married dress like that. It's more for fests and, well, beer parties.
This is the saddest wedding ceremony I have ever seen. Why on earth did he think an Oktoberfest wedding would make his fiance happy? Is she German somewhere along the line? If not, I think it was incredibly selfish of him. They clearly only went through with the exchanging of vows because of all the guests there - they didn't legally get married and both looked like they were breaking up at the altar or being forced to do it. I just watched this episode for the first time and it was such a rollercoaster. The purpose of this show is that the weddings are meant to be stupid and jokey. That's one thing, but purposely basing your fiancée's biggest day around something that you know she'll hate, that's something else entirely. He was trying to embarrass her from start to finish. I was shouting at the TV when it looked like she was going through it. If you're having that many doubts about the person you're meant to love, questioning whether or not you should even turn up to your own wedding, questioning whether your fiancé even knows you after eight years and not even wanting to LOOK at him on your wedding day; then you need to listen to your gut instincts. If you're really meant to be, you wouldn't have those doubts at all. As sad as this episode was, I was relieved that they didn't make the marriage legal, and I'd be surprised if they worked things out. They would have divorced sooner or later anyway. Also, that guy was the most irritating best man I've ever seen, and her blue flowery dress was gorgeous and way better than the cheap wedding dress he got her.

I would've thrown the goddamn ring in his face. How could he possibly have thought she would've been okay with this? Not one thing was done for her, not a single thing. I would've just gone into KFC with my goddamn dress, ordered a bucket of chicken and lived my good life.
He constantly said she was spoiled, hard to please etc, but after watching the full episode, I think she handled it as best she could. She even appreciated the dress simply because it wasn't the other one; some brides would want their dress perfect-she was just happy as she said not to be in the fancy dress one. He made the whole thing about him, and he didn't seem that sorry as he turned it on her and said it was due to her wanting it perfect; she just wanted something for her. He made out she was really fussy when she was simply stating nothing was for her, and she was right. The best man had no empathy for her either. Every mistake they made was somehow her fault. Eurgh. She seemed like a down to earth genuine person.

i suspect there may be something in the contract where they have to pay back all the money if they don't go through with it and most of the couples can't afford to do that. there was one where the groom was clearly a gambling addict and planned the whole wedding in vegas while he was on a 9-day bender with his bestie. she went through with the ceremony despite being devastated and threatening to call it off the day before, but they ended up divorced anyway.
He started crying at the honey smearing. Well, i guess he got a little taste of what he put her through. This fake wedding tested their relationship and it broke them. So sad. I hope they learnt good lessons and have better relationships in the future.

And it wasn't like he didn't know.... they'd been together 8 years, it's impossible he didn't know. So he took a day that meant so much to her, marrying the man she'd loved and had two children with... and made it about him and something that makes her miserable. He hurt her deeply.

I've seen the whole episode of this and the groom and best man were total douches the whole time. He went to Prague for his stag and sent her on a tour of a brewery for her hen. When she got upset about the hen one of her bridesmaids phoned him in Prague and told him how upset she was. When he hung up he said that she was a spoilt brat because she hadn't gotten her own way.
The shut bar in the background of the marriage vows added a nice touch. Always nice to see some buxom Bavarian barmaid bridesmaids in the heart of Burton-on-Trent too. And a heart to heart in a children's playground, a necessary feature of any wedding - or brewery tour.

There has just been an episode on tv here where the groom and his mates went to Benidorm for the stag do and 'organised' the hen do at an assault course without telling any of the girls they'd need a change of clothes afterwards. The reception was in a cattle market building. Frankly I'm amazed that more women don't just walk away....or run away even.
Basically he treated the wedding as if he didn't care about her feelings at all. She was right to be upset because it was obvious that the wedding was a joke to him through what he planned.
I feel sorry for her, because he clearly didn't think about what she would like at all. I'm actually also getting married at a brewery next year though I originally wanted a princess castle wedding, but in our case we agreed on it together after going through the pros and cons of the different locations. And I'm excited about my brewery wedding because that specific place is very pretty and we'll still make it an elegant affair with a bit of a twist instead of turning it into a ridiculous show like here.

I remember this episode - and the looks on the bridesmaids’ faces when they had to put on horrible cheap dirndl outfits. And the dress he chose for his bride was even worse. The traditional dirndl is actually a beautiful costume, but a real one - well made and good quality - is very expensive and this cheapskate preferred to spend all the money on his stag do.

In addition to the traditional wedding cake he could have had a beer garden themed grooms cake and had a traditional wedding. No beer garden or brewery. A grooms cake is the easiest way to show the interests of the groom without ruining the entire wedding.

Well vineyards are different, they are beautiful and romantic but a grubby brewery on an industrial estate is something else. The pig onesies were brilliant not only were they too big they were also see through - what more can a girl ask for ! Thing is, the pig groom, he did the pig wedding because the bride likes pigs. He went about it wrong, obvioulsy, but he did it for her. This bride hates beer, the groom knows it - and he bought her a horrible dress and went on holidays with his mates using the money instead.
A wedding is a reflection of how the marriage is going to be. If one party makes it all about them it's going to be a rough marriage. I know because my ex planned everything according to what he wanted, and his dad planned our honeymoon. Nothing was for me, except the cake, which his dad ruined. It's exactly how the marriage turned out. Nothing was for me, and now we're divorced.

Almost all of these men I have noticed are selfish and only plan the wedding around themselves. I have also noticed that most of these couples are unmarried with children. Usually men don’t care about the small details on the day anyway, so that’s why weddings tend to be based on the brides vision. But if something is important to either party it should be done on the day as far as possible.
Also women who act spoiled and make the day difficult are called bridezillers for a reason. It’s not meant to be a complement.

The girl on this episode wanted a small outdoor minimalist ceremony with close friends and a few fairy lights. Not sure how that amounts to a show off wedding. I felt a bit sorry for this guy at first (especially the honey part, he looked heartbroken) but I'm glad I read other comments, as I tracked down the full episode and he was a totally selfish asshole from start to finish. He ignored several instances he was being told she was majorly unhappy, and was actually rude and dismissive of her (calling her selfish and spoiled) throughout. He even insulted the bridesmaids when they tried to tell him she wouldn't like it. His American friend was a horrible tool too and, instead of remaining calm and neutrally supportive, actually made it worse by goading the groom into thinking the bride was selfish.

I just watched this episode for the first time and it was such a rollercoaster. The purpose of this show is that the weddings are meant to be stupid and jokey. That's one thing, but purposely basing your fiancée's biggest day around something that you know she'll hate, that's something else entirely. He was trying to embarrass her from start to finish. I was shouting at the TV when it looked like she was going through it. If you're having that many doubts about the person you're meant to love, questioning whether or not you should even turn up to your own wedding, questioning whether your fiancé even knows you after eight years and not even wanting to LOOK at him on your wedding day; then you need to listen to your gut instincts. If you're really meant to be, you wouldn't have those doubts at all. As sad as this episode was, I was relieved that they didn't make the marriage legal, and I'd be surprised if they worked things out. They would have divorced sooner or later anyway. Also, that guy was the most irritating best man I've ever seen, and her blue flowery dress was gorgeous and way better than the cheap wedding dress he got her.

i suspect there may be something in the contract where they have to pay back all the money if they don't go through with it and most of the couples can't afford to do that. there was one where the groom was clearly a gambling addict and planned the whole wedding in vegas while he was on a 9-day bender with his bestie. she went through with the ceremony despite being devastated and threatening to call it off the day before, but they ended up divorced anyway.

I've seen the whole episode of this and the groom and best man were total douches the whole time. He went to Prague for his stag and sent her on a tour of a brewery for her hen. When she got upset about the hen one of her bridesmaids phoned him in Prague and told him how upset she was. When he hung up he said that she was a spoilt brat because she hadn't gotten her own way.
The shut bar in the background of the marriage vows added a nice touch. Always nice to see some buxom Bavarian barmaid bridesmaids in the heart of Burton-on-Trent too. And a heart to heart in a children's playground, a necessary feature of any wedding - or brewery tour.

There has just been an episode on tv here where the groom and his mates went to Benidorm for the stag do and 'organised' the hen do at an assault course without telling any of the girls they'd need a change of clothes afterwards. The reception was in a cattle market building. Frankly I'm amazed that more women don't just walk away....or run away even.

I remember this episode - and the looks on the bridesmaids’ faces when they had to put on horrible cheap dirndl outfits. And the dress he chose for his bride was even worse. The traditional dirndl is actually a beautiful costume, but a real one - well made and good quality - is very expensive and this cheapskate preferred to spend all the money on his stag do.

A wedding is a reflection of how the marriage is going to be. If one party makes it all about them it's going to be a rough marriage. I know because my ex planned everything according to what he wanted, and his dad planned our honeymoon. Nothing was for me, except the cake, which his dad ruined. It's exactly how the marriage turned out. Nothing was for me, and now we're divorced.

Almost all of these men I have noticed are selfish and only plan the wedding around themselves. I have also noticed that most of these couples are unmarried with children.
