If anyone wants to know, I’ve had this tablet for about three years now, using it 20+ hours a week. It works well, sometimes there are a few connectivity issues but nothing too inconvenient, usually unplugging and replugging the tablet will work. Also my pen scratched up the surface a little bit so I taped a piece of paper over the surface, which gives the benefit of a more authentic drawing feel. Overall a great tablet if you’re just starting digital art, especially for its price.
thanks for sharing your experience, im thinking of buying this for someone.
im sold bc of this comment and video!
Does it have palm rejection or do I have to buy gloves?
How long do your tips last? Do I have to buy replacement tips often?
For how long you can use it wireless ? Is it needed to be charged or not and if yes for how long the battery will last ?
WOW! EXCELLENT VIDEO & REVIEW! You are very thorough with great attention to detail. I enjoyed watching this video!
Does it work with Medibang?
I commented on a different video of your's for a different drawing tablet which you said worked with it, but does this one work with Medibang too?
It should work
I use it with medibang it works fine except that the zoom in circle thing doesn't seem to work only the zoom out
Thank you man i'm about to order the deco 03 this video is very well explained down too a T!
i just ordered it and its gonna be here tomorrow... thank you for reviewing this
May I ask how is your experience with the tablet going so far?
@@myles432 its so amazing i thought good drawing could only be drawn with an expensive digital media such as cintiq or sort of monitor drawing tablet .. im satisfied by deco 03 performance...this is my first drawing tablet and only take a day to get used with it
Soviee YT alright thanks for the feedback
I know this comment 2 months old but can I ask you to do me a BIG favor.
Skip ahead if you don't want to hear my lame origin story.
Along ago I got a drawing tablet. It was a HUION something or other. An I love it, an i want to do animation so I look up free animation software, do mind I don't have Photoshop. Or any pay software. An I download pencil2D the reason I wanted to use cuz it has a oion mode, an works with animation it seem to be pretty good software or that what you tube say.
------------------------------------------------------
Anyway my old drawing tablet didn't work on it an my drawing tablet is broke an I need a replacement I really don't want to tell you how I broke cuz it's really embarrasses. An I really drop the ball on that one. BUT I really want to see if deco 03 can do pencil 2D
So..
the BIG favor is can you download pencil2D an see if it works with it deco 03.
I know that you probably won't do it or respond. That fine I just want to ask.
Anyway if you do it here a link to get the software if it doesn't work or just don't want to download here just do everybody else does look it on Google.
www.pencil2d.org/download
Thank you if you do check it out for me. An really help me out. :)
@@justthat69 so i have tried 2D pen... pen pressure works, all dial and shortcut buttons work, there is a problem when we tried doing quick stroke... like "drag down word" keeps popping out when you tried to do quick stroke line for 5-7 times (its not like that when i did quick stroke with mouse ._.) ... need to draw the line slowly but u know the line wouldnt be smooth if we draw it slowly
Looks neat, I was looking to upgrading my old drawing tablet to a wireless one!
Thank you so much for doing this review. I watched a couple handful of your other drawing tablet vids and I must say, you're one of the most insightful and informative reviewers. I really like how you take the time to show the functionality side of things (testing out in various art softwares, testing different type of lines and shapes etc). These are things I don't see many other reviewers do?? So, thank you! :D
Thanks 😁
@@teohyc I know this video is 4 years old, but it's still helping me today looking for a cheaper tablet to use when I don't have access to my Huion Kamvas!!! I never buy a tablet without checking your channel first ☺
Thank you for reviewing this product. I'm purchasing a tablet for my nephew who is 15 years old. He likes to draw so I think this tablet will be a great addition for him.
Im saving money to buy this model!
Around the 6:21 location, it was as if you were speaking directly to me! I’ve wondered how to personalize my device to fit my screen size and preferences. Now if I can just get the driver information to appear. 🤔
Thank you for this great video.
Nice tablet. 👍 Very straight forward design and nice features. Excellent review. 🙌
I recently got Sharpie Water Based Paint markers on a whim just wanting to try it out. Got two in white and black. The white I use for highlights. They're great. And they're waterproof after a five to ten minute dry time. The ink didn't react at all to watercolor.👍
James Barton s we as it has to be feldzzxefhht
1. The pentablet settings in deco 03 is exactly same as star 06 wireless?
2. Deco 03 has non removable battery?
I randomly found this in my recommendations, and that drawing tablet looks really nice! I know I'm really late to this. ;w; Thanks for reviewing this, because before I watched this video I was actually thinking of getting that exact drawing tablet for the 3 kings! (Aka a holiday like christmas) I'm really excited to try it out when I get it!
Edit: I've never used a drawing tablet before, so I'm like really excited!
I am in the same situation myself. Just ordered a new tablet. Not this model. But yea. I am VERRYYYY excited for the tablet myself
SkySCC cool! Which one did you order, if you don’t mind me asking?
Very useful, thank you
For those worried about scratching the surface, XP actually sells protective films for certain models like this.
Hello! Please tell me the different between deco 03 and star 06. Which one is better?
Thanks for the video.which whiteboard did you install?
I’m boutta buy this
Hello, thanks for the review!
Is this graphic tablet's material actually good? I mean, is it a professional object made of good materials, or is it just electronic parts + light plastic?
Great review. Subbed.
One quick question. Does the tablet soeftware come with it, or do you need to download it.
Thanks.
wierd how i can understand you perfectly at 2x speed
Definitely need one! The minimalist looks really neat. I was thinking should I get this or the xp pen graphic display. But thinking the display tablet will make my desk look messy with all the wires/usb etc ;-; saved some money anyways! I don't want to used display tablet JUST because all my artist friend used it ( what a negative thought la ;-; )
If you want display tablet I recommend the new Huion Kamvas 13. The neat function is that you can use it both as display or tablet. Also it's better than the new Wacom One.
It costs about 200€.
Thanks for all your reviews! Which tablet and manufacturer in that price range would you ultimately recommend? I‘m having trouble deciding between this, the Huion Q11K Pro and the Gaomon MK10 Pro. Any idea? It’d be much appreciated!!
Huion is good
At 9:00 you say that the pressure sensitivity doesn't work by default, and to get pressure working we need to install wacom intuos driver - Please, how do we do this? Do you have a video for this?
thanks!!
how long can the XP-Pen Deco devices last you after purchase? Would you say the wacom intuos pro has more longevity or are they similar despite the price difference? Thank you for the video :)
I'm using mine for 2 years by now and the battery is perfectly fine. also no signs of strong wear really and Im using it almost daily. I'd recommend getting it. (deco 03)
Wait how do u charge it- (on a comp or just connect it to a charge thingy?)
Dear Teoh,
I am considering purchasing the Deco 03 but have a few questions. I work with digitisation softwares which require a lot of on-screen heads of digitisation of maps or satellite images or 3D drawing in softwares like AutoCAD, ArcGIS and Google Earth.
a. Can the Deco 03 be used with GIS (Geographic Information System) softwares like ArcGIS, AutoCAD or QGIS?
b. Can digitisation be done in Google Earth (creating .kml files and saving them) as easily as drawing in Adobe Illustrator or the other drawing packages you showed?
c. Is the Deco 03 WinTab compliant and can it be used seamlessly for Windows 8, 8.1 and 10?
Thanks for your time and such a great review.
It should work with all. Basically, it's just a mouse except shaped like a pen, so it should work with all software
@@teohyc May I know what is the wireless range in feet?
Nice video! You said download Wacom Intuos driver to get pressure in adobe illustrator? Will this interfere with the XP-Pen driver?
So far from my past experience (from using other tablets), the Wacom driver does not interfere with other tablet drivers.
Ok thanks! I'll give it a try!
Interesting!
Thanks for all the answers and the review!! I just buy it, how much should i let it charge before use?
Another great video. I don't think this will be released in Australia, like most tech that doesn't have a major label attached to it.. shame.
Thanks for the video. Is the fuction key like zoom made for photoshop only? Or is it general? I plan to use this for Pro Tool (DAW).
You can customise the buttons to whatever shortcut you want
I'm thinking of upgrading from deco 01 to deco 03. Does the 03 version also come with a pen tablet bag?
Teoh, thank you for the review! Can I assign a canvas rotation to the wheel?
I no longer have this table to test. But if there's a keyboard shortcut for canvas rotation, then it should work
great video mate! battery compartment in the pad was not mentioned, compare to the review you made about Star 06. I’m thinking star 06 could be best option then this one. Need help on deciding buying my item soon. Deco 03 or Star 06?
With the wireless Star 06, there's no cable clutter. Performance wise they are similar.
@@teohyc But Deco 3 is also wireless (or wired).
does the switch need to be on or off when wired? my tablet works either way when wired
Wats the difference between deco 3 and star 06..later one can connect with android right? Thanks for your nice review
What are the differences from the HUION INSPIROY Q11K V2 model and which tablet is better?
Hey, are you still using it? If yes, then how satisfied are you with this product and is it still a better option than wacom one medium?
TIA
1:48 Did you know that cylinder cap was to be used as a pen stand?
Neat. The scroll wheel feature seems worth having, though I think other models at around the same price also have a wheel or track ball.
There's no comment about the wireless technology - presumably it can be used in wireless or wired modes.
Most people will use it close to the screen so wired would be OK, but sometimes wireless could be used with a screen a bit further away - for example in a class room. How far away will it work with wireless? Having to use a dongle could be a nuisance for some people, as newer computers may not have many USB ports. More dongles may force users to use a USB hub, or a different computer. It's a pity these don't work with Bluetooth with is now often built in.
Most of the software mentioned relates to art - but the tablet should also work with other software. It would be useful to know about that - for example for reviewing articles, looking at spreadsheets etc. Some users would probably like to highlight text or make annotations, or mark up figures in a spreadsheet, so it would be helpful to know about whether the tablet helps for that kind of software.
Some tablet models now work with mobile phones and/or directly with tablets such as Android or iPads. Does this one? It looks as though many of the models which are phone compatible are currently only Android compatible. Some people might find this feature useful - so it would be useful to know - and for some it might now be a deal breaker if they really want to use a phone.
A few years on - has this model been seen to be reliable? XP-Pen kit seems to be pitched in a similar market to Huion tablets.
Lastly, some users might want to use a tool like this because they are experiencing pain from RSI (repetitive strain injury) - and it would be good to know whether this would help those people, or in fact make their conditions worse.
From my knowledge, the Deco 03 seems to have no compatibility with mobile devices (except for the Deco 01 V2, but a lot of people would recommend using a drawing tablet that is directly made to be compatible with mobile devices, unlike Deco 01 V2 which is made specifically for the PC that just has a mobile device compatibility)
Hi Teoh. Thanks for the review. How does this compare to the Huion q11k? Would love to know your thoughts!
Drawing performance pretty similar. So just pick the design you like better or the cheaper one.
@@teohyc thanks! Will do

what's the Pen-tilt angel for Deco 3 tablet. Do we need to use glove to avoid smudges ?
I recently bought this tablet for taking notes using OneNote. I also enabled windows ink in Pentablet app. However, the issue is I face that whenever I try to write continuously in OneNote, it tends to switch to lasso select mode preventing me from completing the word I was writing. As I am using this tablet on windows, I do see that there is "click sensitivity" option in PenTablet app. And I have tried changing Output vs Pressure graph, but not much difference. At the moment I find it difficult to take notes on OneNote using this tablet. Do you have any idea how I maybe able to fix the problem ?
Not sure if you still have this problem, but Tablet drivers sometimes interfere with Windows 10's built-in support for tablets. You might want to disable everything you find under Tablet-options in Windows Control panel. It helped me in the past.
Hello Sir, I’m planning to buy a XP-Pen tablet but I’m having a problem choosing between Star06 and Deco 03. I want to know your opinions and which do you prefer among the two of them. Thanks and have a great day!
Both works fine. I find the wheel at the top left easier to turn because you can turn it from the side. With Star 06, it's from the top. Just slight difference. If you're left handed, note the possible of the wheel.
At the start, when you said "hey everyon" it remembered me of daily dose of internet :u
Thank u for ur review...Which one s better for taking class using PowerPoint wacom or Xp pen or any.... tel me any particular model for me wireless...gng 2 use 1ly 4 teaching profession
XP Pen. It is cheaper.
I ordered it today, it's supposed to get here by august cause I stay very far away......I hope It's worth it. No, I know it's worth it.
Thank you so much for this review.
@@JC-zj4zb It's great, very nice and good working area.
@@kelvinokonkwo1194 do u still use it?
@@kelvinokonkwo1194 how is it after a year?
@@wbh623 Nah, I don't
@@wbh623 I gave it to my brother he's been using it since December 2020, he loves it and says it's great.
Hi, I saw u also gave good reviews of deco Pro, deco pro vs deco 3 which one u will be more recommend ?
Drawing tablet technology has matured. You're going to get rather similar drawing performance with most tablets nowadays. Just pick one that looks good to you, or one with more shortcut buttons.
Which one is better ? The wacom intuos or this tablet?
Hold on. THE last software/app you were sketching on - the name of it, I didn't catch it...is it applicable on android/windows aswell?
I’m pretty sure he said it works on Apple and Windows, unless he was saying that for something else
Is it as good a drawing experience as the Apple Pencil on the IPad?
Hello again Teoh sir. I finally buy this guy. Do you encounter any problem? Mine the absolute/relative and Left/Right settings didn't work.
Not sure what happened. Maybe contact XP Pen and ask
QUESTIONS
1. Can the pen/tablet buttons be zBrush shortcuts
2. Can the scroll circle be the zoom or the brush size shortcuts in zBrush
If someone already tried zBrush with this board and could enlightened me i will be gratefull
Yes
Thank you the nice review. I've been using XP-pen Deco 03 since Dec2020 and had a great experience using it for my online teaching. But today, accidentally my tablet fell down today and not working now. What should I do to put back it to work? help in this regard is highly appreciated. Thank you
Not sure about that. Contact XP Pen to ask
Just got it
Do you have a link for the specific driver you used for pressure sensitivity? Cheers!
You can download the driver from xp pen website
@@teohyc I looked on their website. And I do not see any Wacom Intuos driver download available. In you video you stated it was a Wacom Intuos Driver that you downloaded for the pressure sensitivity to work.
@@futuresdojo The Wacom Intuos driver is only needed if you're using Adobe Illustrator and want the pressure to work. www.wacom.com/en/support/product-support/drivers
Deco 3 vs deco 01 v2 which is better?
Between this and Huion Q420M, which is better?
just got this
10/10
Is it working properly and for how long you can use it wireless? Is it needed to be charged or not and if yes for how long does the battery last
Um ng, can i ask? Xp pen deco 03 or huion 1060p?
Thank you for the video! I am having a serious problem. I want to use my xp pen in photoshop in Relative mode, Not Absolute mode. But I cannot activate windows ink when i am in relative mode. Can you please let me know if you are in Relative or Absolute when you are drawing? If i choose relative mode, I am not able to use pressure sensitivity. It only works in absolute. Please help?
Which one would be a good pick, I want to do illustration in clip studio paint, medibang and fire alpaca. Non chargeable battery and a size like the one in this video. Xp pen deco 1 v2 or?
Both are good actually. You'll get the same drawing performance.
The pen (p05)nips i get inside the box is shaky n feel loose.. is it normal? Or it is should be sturdy?
Teohhhhhhh. Have you tried Paul Rubens or Komorebi watercolours?
Have not tried those before
Teoh Yi Chie I think they're sort of new? With not many reviews. The Komorebi remind me of Kuretake Gansai a little but some of the colours are oddly opaque. O_o The metallics are REALLY shiny on black paper 😂
I *love* the deco 01
Do you use it with a windows or with a mac? I use my deco 01 with both but on the mac it kinda drops the pressure sensitivity when I'm working on photoshop and I'm not sure if it's that I have a defective product or if it's all the decos that do that.
Hi Teoh, I tried to install wacom driver to get the pressure sensitivity for illustrator, but wacom software reported of no compatible models found.
Can you help me with the pressure sensitivity in Deco 03 or further more instructions.
After you install Wacom driver, you don’t have to deal with Wacom driver already. Just go to illustrator, turn on brush sensitivity for each brush you use.
I still hve this tablet from my purchase in 2018 xD
on windows 11 i don't see the same things- how do you change pen pressure and stability??
Would this be any good for lightroom? I like the scroll wheel or can you recommend anything else?? Thanks
It's good. Or check. Out the Parblo A609 or XP Pen Star 06. I've reviews for them too and on parkablogs.com
@@teohyc thanks
hello, I'm also looking for a graphic tablet for design, but I'm a little undecided. Do you think star 06 is better or deco 03?
They should have similar drawing performance so you can choose based on other features, e.g. shortcut buttons, dial, looks.
I have a wacom intuos that I bougth it in 2013, and is the version with the express keys covered in rubber. After 5 years, the rubber part is a mess, I had to glue it, but some parts are still loose, and that's the version of intuos where one had to buy the wireless device as an extra, it didn't come with the tablet, and on that table the wireless system worked really bad, until stop working after a coupld of months and no supper from wacom. Anway, the tablet works, but the express keys are in bad shape, so decided to buy a new one. The new wacoms seems to have a bad review, due the surface eating the nibs in days, so wanted to find a better options and it seems the XP Pen Deco 03 was the winner. The reviews are good, so bougth it. Last nigth installed it and tested it. I must say the tablet is nice built, very good materials. The pen is good too. Everything feels good.
how can I make it so that when I press the button in the red dial, it switches the dial between zooming in and out of the canvas and rotating the canvas?
Go into the driver and set the button to Function Switch. Then add as least two functions to the dial
What about the springness of the pen nib people are talking about. They say it's annoying for light strokes. Any comment from actual users? Thx.
At 0:57 mine didn’t come with that I think I’m not sure cause I got it last year or something
You can get drivers online
I am stucked to buy between this, star 06 wireless, inspirou q11k and wh1409. They seem all quite similar to me but I wanted to take your opinion before buying it. I like the scrolling option on both xp-pen devices, and I need a usb bundle so I can use the tablet at my office to plug in no-bluetooth desktop pc, but also I would need tilt function in the future. in this case what would you recommend me Teoh Yi Chie? Thanks in advance for your answer.
Rom DD Did you end up buying any of those?
yes. and i don't know but it got scratched a lot by first use. although i was not pushing the nib to the surface that hard. plus on mac i cannot use the wheel to zoom in photoshop or illustrator as it set as default in the settings. i am not sure if i'll keep it.
Did u put the Wacom driver on the flash drive?
No
Can u use it with paper when it’s wireless
Can the dial be set to send a key press instead of controlling something like zoom?
You can only choose from a limited number of shortcuts www.parkablogs.com/content/review-xp-pen-deco-03-graphics-drawing-tablet-wireless
Have u try connect to android? Mine connected but the coursor not moving, solution?
this or gaomon m106k? thank you
do I need any screen protector to avoid scratches on the tablet?
And the second question is that, can I use any pen on this tablet?
There's no screen protector. Graphic tablets like this will get scratched eventually. Don't be bothered by that. Better a well worn tablet that you frequently than a pristine tablet that's seldom used. You can only use the pen provided, not other brands
@@teohyc Thank you.
Can i buy the pen only, if the pen broke by mistake?
Just ask deco3 and star 06 which one better
I'm new to graphic tablets and have to decide between the huion inspiroy g10t and the xp pen deco 03.. can you help me with choosing one
Deco 03. The trackpad on G10T is not that useful
Thanks.. would you recommend any other tablets around the same price range?
Which better, huion h950p or this? Please answer, cuz i want to buy my first pen tablet.. Thankyou..
I'll go with the Deco 03. The wheel is quite convenient.
How about its surface after using for few days?
It will get some scratches with usage. I see that with all tablets I’ve used. Nothing to worry about. More scratches mean you are really using the tablet.
Does anyone know if this tablet is compatible with ToonBoom Harmony?
my screen is about 17x12 inches so would this tablet be too small? or would the scroll wheel help with that?
This is big enough
Sir from where u download pen setup app
It is so hard to choose this or Deco 01 revision.
Deco 01 seems like it has some kind of IC Chip, while I am not sure if Deco 03 has it. To be fully honest I have no idea what that IC chip does.
Nowadays most graphic tablets perform quite well. That chip may not matter.
How does this compare with deco 01 v2
I installed the latest Wacom driver for Mac OSX and pen pressure is still not working in illustrator. Should I install the bamboo pen driver? Or am I doing something wrong? Missing a step? Everything else works great.
Try choosing the brush, in the brush settings, change the brush size to vary with the pressure. If that does not work, install the Wacom Intuos driver.
@@teohyc when I try that, "pressure" is still not selectable. could i have somehow installed the wrong driver? I went here and downloaded the most recent: www.wacom.com/en-es/support/product-support/drivers
