Love Castle Frank...because of the overpass. Same with the LRT because you're mostly outdoors. My grandfather was a transit operator with the TTC for over 33yrs.
A month ago, watching this would've been agonising as I commute on here for almost 4hrs per day. Watching this now, I feel comfortable because it reminds me of a normal life.
Good memories, I remember when I used to get the bus from Markham road and Kingston road until Langstaff Road at Vaughn every day for work. I miss the city!
I remember when the LRT opened in Scarborough back in 1985. My grandmother took me to the opening day at McCowan station. They were offering free rides that day. It was ahead of its time. Fully automated. Yet I have always seen an operator on board. I bet the union had something to do with that..taking away jobs and such lol.
you're right about the union, i'm not sure if a single RT train has run without an operator since 1985. it's a shame, since there's a chance it'll be closing in 2023
Nice video! ....Nothing like an extensive tour if we're going to do one! lol ...Really enjoy the channel! I work in Thunder Bay where most of the Light Rail vehicles you feature were built. I'm involved in electrical test and have worked on many a Rocket consist & Bi-Level Coach, Cab & Accessible cars. You should consider doing the research & dipping a little more into the technology & features of these vehicles. (After all.... it is part of the chanel slogan! :) Not just the vehicles, maybe the infrastructure & Control systems etc. All very world class, Especially the Rocket cars & new LRV Street cars. If possible I think it would really step up your game! Cheers mate!, Keep up the hard work, Thx for taking us along:)
Awesome, today when a streetcar arrived at the stop I was waiting at I noticed a small, unlocked hatch next to the door. I flipped it open and accidentally caused the door to get stuck as it hit the hatch, keeping it open with the force of the door motors. It didn't matter much because those doors are high tech and just closed again, but the operator did have to cycle the doors to unfuck them. Oops! I was wondering if you knew anything about what the hatch is? It appeared to have a couple small red and green LED's and what looked like a big hole inside. Didn't get a good look. Thanks!
When I grew up in the seventies warden station was the end of the line. Used to have to take two buses to get there and a ride downtown could take an hour and a half. Rush hour service was every 45 mins. That said. Vancouver translink is the shittiest transit devoid of any art or distinction between stations. The only colour is the advertisements.
Nice job :) I live in Toronto now but grew up in London, was always fascinated by the Tube Challenge, and wondered how long it would take over here! A shame there isn't much variation possible in the routes though, that's one of the fun parts of the London one, seeing the different plans people come up with. I guess line 5 will add a few variables at least!
I used to work night shift and would take the train from Kennedy to Kipling. Sometimes I would fall asleep and the train is heading back to Kennedy.. 🤦🏾♂️🤦🏾♂️😂😂
Nice, NY subway is my specialty, yeah I know we took Mr byford from ya city hopefully he can make improvements to my system, toronto is a nice city and I've thought of moving there to work for the ttc. I say Eglinton should have been a Subway(which can be debated another time), what you think of replacement for the Scarborough RT
@@brianreed31 it's slated to be buses, but there's been numerous plans over the years, and it's inevitable that more politics will come into play, causing it to go all loopy again. i'd say buses is a pretty good option, though it would be fun if it was turned into a LRT like it was proposed once.
I took the TTC to Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport: Line 2: Kennedy station to Bathurst Station 511 Bathurst streetcar: Bathurst Station to Exhibition Loop (fleet St.) 7 minutes walk to airport (ferry terminal/pedestrian tunnel) Keep up the good work
I have no idea what I was talking about when I said bumper cars. I think I got confused as to where you were talking about. Most likely I was talking about the Toronto Island ferry
This is also like the double-deck subways in Sydney, Australia mainly too. I think the U.S subways are different. the U.K is in EUrope so it's even more primitively different than these two or three similar places.
@@RMTransit, I'm just saying Toronto's subway and Sydney, Australia's subway systems are very similar. I know Toronto and Montreal only have single-deck while Brisbane and Sydney are double-deck.

It's a rule cinematographers have to follow. Imagine you have a half circle. Within this half circle you have two actors at a long table, male on the right and female on the left. To maintain the 180 degree rule that cannot change throughout the scene. If it does change you have 'crossed the line'/broken the 180 degree rule.
Is it 75 or is it 80 stations? St George serves both Lines 1 and 2. If you count St George as a station on L1, do you not count it as a station on L2? I say you do and you should. Which is why I say currently Toronto has 80 stations and not 75.
Interchange stations always count as 1 big station, not 2 seperate ones. Unless there’s 0 actual physical connection between the two lines. Which would be horrible planning lol
How? The 190 is more direct, on a faster road and makes fewer stops. Maybe at rush hour the 169 is faster if Sheppard is jammed, but the rest of the day I don't see how it could be faster.
So 3h20 is the time to beat! Congrats on holding the 'subway challenge' record for the current system.
