Unlike other utility heaters, I couldn't find the mounting bracket diagram online for this unit so I needed to physically see the brackets and get measurements so that I can build the support structure in the ceiling to hold this bad boy up. Once the support structure is in place I can run the propane and electricity to the area. I cant install the unit itself until the tin is in place. Lots of things need to happen now before I can continue insulating! 😐

Thanks Larry. We nearly paid over twice as much for our heater, so I'm hoping this one is as good or better. I believe both are made in China, so that does not explain why the Modine unit was so expensive. I have read some review that say it's quiet, but time will tell 😊

Shop heater are always a bear to install the first time. Gas lines, electrical lines, venting, hanging, etc. At least this building is well insulated, and the unit is not one of those monsters!
I agree, some of these hearers are huge! It will be hard enough hoisting this one into place!
I just ordered mine for $320... one year later, they are kicking modines ass in cost.
I am concerned with your vent pipe clearance. I read that the 1" collar is meant for B-Vent which allows you to be 1" away from combustibles , but you displayed single wall vent pipe, and that needs at least a 4 inch clearance from combustibles.
With the Class III pipe, the thimble has a framing opening size, which in this case is 6 1/2". The thimble itself is 6" diameter giving a 2" clearance all around the pipe. The thimble is cool to the touch in operation. I think this may be an earlier video with the parts recommended by the guy who works at Menards. A class III thimble was what was installed in the end.
